    How Faithia Balogun helped me complete my biggest movie – Segun Ogungbe

    Nollywood filmmaker and actor Segun Ogungbe has opened up on the struggles he faced during his early years in the movie industry.

    The filmmaker also revealed how his colleague and star actress, Faithia Balogun came to his rescue when financial challenges almost ended his dream project.

    The award-winning filmmaker, known for his resilience and versatility in Yoruba cinema, recounted how lack of funds forced him to shoot his movie ‘Banke Desperado’ in bits until divine help and goodwill from colleagues helped him complete it.

    “Back then I wasn’t financially buoyant so I would shoot scenes bit by bit until I was able to complete the movie,” Ogungbe said. “If I was able to shoot one scene with Mr Latin, I would shoot it and keep it till the next actor was available.”

    Filmmaker and actor, Segun Ogungbe has opened up about the price of stardom, revealing how fame has forced him to handle situations differently from ordinary people.

    “Fame took away so many things from me,” Ogungbe said during a recent interview. “For instance, someone hit my vehicle from the back and when I confronted him, people that were present at the time started blaming me that I shouldn’t be the one in such a situation.”

    The actor recalled another similar incident that made him decide against engaging in public confrontations. “Another similar incident happened some time ago in Ketu, Lagos. Another person hit my car from the back and seriously damaged the back side of the car, but I didn’t bother to wait or confront the person; I just zoomed off straight to Abeokuta, where I went to fix the vehicle,” he recounted.

    Ogungbe explained that experiences like these have shaped how he now reacts to issues both in public and online. “So, there are many things people expect me to react to, even on social media, but I won’t because of past experiences,” he added.

    Actress Omowunmi Ajiboye has cleared the misconception about her relationship with fellow actor Segun Ogungbe

    In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Ajiboye clarified that she and Ogungbe were never married or engaged, contrary to popular speculation. 

    She emphasised that Ogungbe never met her family, with the exception of a friend of her sibling who resides in Lagos.

    Ajiboye appealed to her fans to take it easy on her, stressing that she is not a bad person and did not ruin Ogungbe’s life. 

    She pointed out that during their time together, things were good and even after their separation, Ogungbe’s life has continued to move forward positively.

    “Let me set the record straight, Segun Ogungbe and I were never married, not even engaged. He never met my family, except a friend of my sibling who lives in Lagos. Segun himself can confirm this

    To my fans, I beg you, please take it easy with me. I’m not a bad person, and I didn’t destroy Segun Ogungbe’s life. When I was in his life, things were good. And now that I’m not, his life is still going well. So please, let me live and enjoy my life. I pray your own homes won’t be destroyed. I pray your kids are raised in love and not by strangers. I pray you don’t suffer sudden loss. Just leave me alone, please,” she said.

    Actress Omowunmi Ajiboye has caused a buzz online over her unromantic birthday message to her estranged husband and colleague, Segun Ogungbe.

    Omowunmi posted on her Instagram page to pray for the father of her kids, also wishing him a happy birthday devoid of any sweet names.

    She wrote: “Happy birthday to you @segunogungbe_ God will uplift you more than your expectations, you will live long to celebrate many more years in good health and wealth. I wish you many happy returns, congratulations.”

    Surprisingly, Segun took to her comment section to acknowledge her birthday message, saying amen to her prayers as he appreciated her for the message.

    He wrote: “Amen. Thank you so much.”

    Many of her fans stormed her comment section, noting how she avoided using sweet names for him.
