The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial district, Mohammed Sani Musa, has distributed 4,050 bags of fertilizer to the nine local government areas under his constituency.
Speaking at the flag-off of the free distribution of fertilizer for the 2024 farming season.
The senator said that this gesture was to encourage farmers, especially those who have returned to the farm after insecurity attacks, and to ensure that they have access to inputs without worries.
Musa threatened to deal with anyone who diverts the fertilizer or resells it as monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to effectively monitor the supply of the fertilizers.
The Senator who was represented by the Deputy Speaker of the Niger state House of Assembly, Honorable Eunice Afiniki said that the distribution of the fertilizer will be to be fair without any discrimination urging the Chairman and coordinators to be fair while they are involved in the distribution.
He said that the state government is doing its best to ensure every affected farmer in an insecurity-challenged community returns to their farms adding that the government is not relenting in tackling insecurity and bringing it to a zero level.

The Senator said that each local government area gets a total of 450 bags consisting of urea and NPK adding that the inputs include 1,000 urea and 3,050 NPK bags of fertilizers.
He called on elected officials and party mobilizers to work on uniting and synergizing to bring development and increase the membership of the organization to emulate, unite and synergize to achieve total development.
The benefiting local governments include Bosso, Chanchaga, Gurara, Rafi, Munya, Shiroro, Suleja, Tafa and Paikoro.
