Senator Abdul’aziz Yar’adua (Katsina Central) yesterday kicked off a one-week training on electrical installation, house wiring, and solar system to empower 33 youths in his constituency.

The training started on November 11.

Programme Coordinator Mr. Femi said: “This training was meticulously designed to combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experience, ensuring participants gain comprehensive skills in electrical and solar installations.

“The training began with theoretical sessions, introducing participants to essential concepts such as current, voltage, power, and the proper sizing of protection devices. Participants were also taught to read and interpret wiring drawings, especially for complex structures like multi-storey buildings.

“The practical segment allowed participants to practice wiring techniques, including connecting switches, bulbs, and distribution boards. They also installed and powered setups using both generators and solar systems. A specialised solar training session focused on the sizing and connection of solar panels and inverters, emphasising safety protocols and proper handling techniques.
