Nigerian street sensation Seyi Vibez partners with EMPIRE, unveils emotion-flled single ‘Pressure’

In a significant career move, Nigerian music star Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, popularly known as Seyi Vibez, has officially partnered with global music distribution and record label giant EMPIRE. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a brand-new single titled “Pressure”, marking a sonic evolution for the artist who has made a name for himself with gritty, street-centric soundscapes.

Speaking on the new release and partnership, Seyi Vibez described “Pressure” as a deeply personal offering and a deliberate shift from his earlier sound. “This song is a complete shift from my usual sound. It leans into melody, intimacy, and raw emotion,” he said in a statement. “It’s smoother, softer, and more intentional. I wanted to show my range, to prove that I can give you fire and tenderness in the same breath. This track is about the quiet power of love and attention. Sometimes the loudest statement is how you move when no one’s watching. That’s real pressure.”

The track, layered with mellow instrumentals and introspective lyricism, signals a bold new chapter in the journey of the 24-year-old artist, who broke into mainstream consciousness in 2022 with his debut album Billion Dollar Baby. Since then, Seyi Vibez has continued to build a loyal fanbase with his prolific output and genre-blending creativity, drawing from Afrobeats, Fuji, Street-Hop, and alternative influences to shape his unique sonic identity.

His most recent project, Children of Africa (released in February 2025), made significant waves internationally, with all four tracks charting on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart — a rare feat for a Nigerian independent act. According to data from Luminate, his entire music catalogue has amassed over 400 million on-demand streams in the United States alone — a testament to his growing global appeal.

Commenting on the partnership, Mobolaji Kareem, Regional Head of West Africa at EMPIRE, expressed excitement over the label’s latest signee. “We are happy to partner with Seyi Vibez, an artist whose vocal dexterity and versatility truly stand out. He is a great fit, and we look forward to helping his continued growth as a global artist.”

EMPIRE, known for its artist-friendly approach and expansive network across Africa and the diaspora, has worked with top-tier talents like Fireboy DML, Kizz Daniel, and Olamide. The collaboration with Seyi Vibez positions him for further international crossover.

For Seyi, this deal is more than just a business move—it’s spiritual. “I’m stepping into this new chapter with the spirit of my ancestors,” he said. “I carry the energy of Orisa: the guardian, the protector, the voice of the city.”

With “Pressure,” Seyi Vibez reintroduces himself—not just as the uber talented act from out of Lagos, but as a fully-fledged artist poised for global resonance. As the music industry continues to look toward Africa for its next stars, Seyi Vibez’s partnership with EMPIRE may well be the beginning of a landmark era.
