No fewer than 100 widows will benefit from founder of ‘Show Kindness and Emphaty Seriously to All Development Initiative’ (SHOKESTA) yearly birthday celebration.

The event is slated for 23 December with widows in Ogun State will receive essential support in form of food items and cash gifts.

Speaking after visiting Ibadan Home for Motherless Babies, the founder of the foundation, Amb. Oluwakemi Soyebi, otherwise know as Shokesta said the event is a part of the foundation’s ongoing mission to improve the socio-economic well-being of vulnerable people in the community.

She stated that this year’s event will focus on providing vital support to widows, ensuring they can better care for themselves and their families during the festive season.

She said: “SHOKESTA has touched the lives of over 4,000 women, children, and youth across Nigeria. The organization’s focus on entrepreneurship, creativity, and leadership has empowered individuals to overcome social challenges and break the cycle of poverty.

“SHOKESTA has also been instrumental in organizing visits to orphanages and supporting widows, offering both financial aid and emotional support to those struggling with life’s challenges.

“Since 2015, SHOKESTA has made it a tradition to bring joy and gifts to the babies in the home during the Christmas season.

“In 2019, SHOKESTA reached out to widows in Ibadan, offering them support through food, financial assistance, and emotional encouragement, helping them navigate the challenges of loss and hardship.

“Shokesta Development Initiative has long been committed to philanthropic activities across Abeokuta and beyond, with this event standing out as one of its flagship programs.”

The founder, who has continuously demonstrated a deep passion for community welfare, aims to touch the lives of these women by addressing some of their most pressing needs.
