    Global stars, music business executives grace Showbiz101 in Lagos

    Lagos hosted top music business leaders, celebrities, business executives, and creative industry professionals from around the world at a week-long Showbiz101 Global Workshop and Music Creation Camp organised by bridgeAFRIC in collaboration with All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA and UNESCO .

    The event which featured learning, fostering collaborations, and building networks commenced with a comprehensive workshop held at Alliance Française, hosted by Juliet Ibrahim and Nigerian comedian Phronesis. The event brought together a diverse array of global luminaries and creative industry professionals representing various regions of Africa, Europe, America, and Canada.

    Sessions focused on the business side of music, brand building, publishing, distribution, copyright, and financial wellness. Speakers emphasized the need for structure, strong branding, and understanding intellectual property to build sustainable careers.

    Notable speakers include Bizzle Osikoya (The Plug), Adaora Mbelu (Lumination Global Network), Nadia Nakai, Juma Jux, Didi B, DJ Neptune, MTN’s Osaze Ebueku, Suspect 95, Wendy Harawa, Daphne Montgomery, Eric Bellamy (Live Nation France), and Freddy Daddy.

    After the workshop, artistes joined a three-day music production camp where they collaborated with top producers and stars to create a global EP. Participants included Rexxie, Mix Master Garzy, Shado Chris, Del B, DJ Neptune, Juma Jux, Didi B, Erin Ross, EVK, Suspect 95, DJ Moh Green, and others.

    Victoria Nkong, President of bridgeAFRIC, described the event as a true convergence of the global creative industry. She praised the smooth collaborations, networking, and new connections, and said the organization looks forward to the EP release and the music born from the camp.
