Siatech Africa wins Huawei’s best regional collaboration award

Olanrewaju Olaniyan, Chief Executive Officer of Siatech Africa, has described his company’s recognition at the Huawei Partner Awards in South Africa as a validation of Africa’s growing capacity to deliver world-class engineering solutions.

Siatech Africa, a leading infrastructure and telecommunication engineering service provider, clinched the Best Regional Collaboration Award for West Africa at the 2023 Huawei Partner Awards, less than two years after beginning operations in Ghana.

“Honestly, it’s a really proud moment for us. Siatech Africa only started operations in Ghana in April 2022, so to be here — less than two years later — receiving this award from Huawei, it’s very special, Olaniyan said. ”

He noted that the award was not just a personal achievement but a collective success of the company’s workforce.

“It means a lot to our people. Our engineers and field teams have worked tirelessly, sometimes under tough conditions, to deliver excellence. This award really belongs to them,” he added.

Olaniyan credited Siatech’s success to its data-driven project management approach and strong partnership with Huawei.

“We brought in a data-driven project management model using real-time reporting and digital site audit tools. It improved efficiency and reduced turnaround time dramatically,” he explained.

He also emphasized the company’s commitment to human capacity development, revealing that over 80 percent of Siatech Africa’s engineers and technicians have been trained and certified on Huawei systems.

“Another thing we’re proud of is our focus on people. Over 80% of our engineers and technicians have been trained and certified on Huawei systems. We didn’t just want to deliver projects — we wanted to build capacity,” he said.

Siatech Africa has worked on major telecom projects across Ghana, Liberia, and Nigeria, including 4G/MiMo expansion, network modernization, and site integration initiatives.

According to Olaniyan, the company’s ability to maintain consistent quality across multiple countries exemplifies “the spirit of regional collaboration” for which the award was given.

Looking ahead, Olaniyan said the recognition would inspire the company to scale its impact across the continent.

“We’re now looking to deepen our partnerships, expand our digital services portfolio, and explore more sustainable infrastructure solutions, especially around renewable energy for telecom sites,” he stated.

He expressed optimism about Africa’s digital future, adding, “When passion meets partnership, incredible things happen. Together with our partners, especially Huawei, we’ll keep building networks that connect, empower, and inspire across Africa. The journey has just begun.”
