The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has increased the food palliatives for residents and commissioned a solar street light among other projects.
Okeowo explained that explained that it was necessary to increase the package because of the impact on residents.
He made the remarks at the 11th edition of the programme held at the LA Primary School, Mosafejo.
The council chief said there are more beneficiaries from the seven wards, with each ward having about 150 people as beneficiaries of the foodstuffs comprising of rice, beans and garri, among others.

At the event, 100 peasant traders received a sum of N50,000 each to support their businesses, traders got more funds to boost their trades, 500 aged received N10,000, 500 youths got N10,000, 250 young families got N10,000 each and free drugs were given to 250 individuals with special ailments such as diabetes, hypertension and others.
Okeowo added that the solar street light was installed given the high cost of diesel, noting that the project would also reduce incessant accidents at night along that road and boost economic activities along the Suru -Mosafejo express road.
