  • Abina emphasises soul-winning as GOFAMINT dedicates Ogba district headquarters

The General Overseer of the Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT) Dr. Elijah Abina has emphasised soul winning remains the fundamental for growth of the body of Christ.

He spoke on Sunday while decidating the Ogba district headquarters in Lagos.

Speaking on “That my house may be filled”, Abina, who was represented by the church’s General Secretary, Pastor Femi Omowumi, charged members to go out and win souls by evangelising.

He said they must be involved in bringing more people to worship “in the new headquarter church dedicated today so that the church will not be empty.”

According to him: “ It is something to build a befitting edify and is another thing to go out and invite people, bring people to the church and also bring people to the kingdom of God.

“It will be a waste of resources in the building of the church if the members of the church fail in their responsibility to win souls”.

The cleric emphasised that they should have at least 2 to 3 shifts in their Sunday service, saying it will also go a long way in contributing to the growth and development of the church.

He also pointed out youths should portray themselves as good ambassadors wherever they are, and that, as a church, the leaders should ensure that the youths are given opportunity to conduct the church service at least, once in a month to groom them for leadership in the future.

The District pastor, Mr. Francis Omoniyi, said that the journey completing the church has not been easy but God has been with them and taken charge to the final stage of complement.

The Resident Pastor, Mr. Kehinde Ogundare, added the church is prepared in the vision of evangelism as equipment have been acquired, including gospel tracts to launch out in bringing souls to the church.

The vision of the new church building was birthed in 2011 by the then Resident Pastor, Mr. Francis Omoniyi (now the District Pastor).

The vision became a reality in 2014 under the leadership of Pastor Adeniyi Kuroloja, who was then the Resident Pastor, with Pastor Joseph Olorunsomo as the Chairman, Building Committee.

The project was completed under the leadership of Pastor Ogundare, the current Resident Pastor.

  • Accessing the benefits of soul winning!

Welcome to another exciting week. I hope you were blessed by last week’s teaching. Also, I believe you have discovered how you can experience noiseless breakthroughs through obedience to the soul-winning commandment. Today, we shall focus on Accessing the Benefits of Soul Winning!

From scriptures, we discover that soul winning is the most profitable of all Kingdom stewardship endeavours because it covers all things we will ever need.

The value of a soul to Jesus is worth more than all the wealth of the world put together. As it is written: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul (Matthew 16:26).

Soul winning covers all the things that money cannot buy (Luke 22:35). Also, commitment to soul winning enthrones the soul winner in his/her field of endeavours. The Bible says: That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelvetribes of Israel (Luke 22:30; see alsoProverbs 11:30).

Furthermore, soul winning makes kings of men. For it is written: By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth (Proverbs 8:15-16). Soul winning makes kings of believers because soul winning makes wise (Proverbs 13:20). We saw how wisdom enthrones Joseph, Daniel and the likes in the Bible and wisdom is still enthroning men today. Every time we go out after souls, we are going with Jesus. The Bible records: And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen (Mark 16:20).

We also understand from scriptures that soul winning is a covenant gold mine. Concerning Peter, the Bible records: Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting (Luke 18:28-30; see also Daniel 12:3). This connotes that, every investment made towards Kingdom advancement in terms of time, energy and resources entitles us to a hundred-fold more in this present time and in the world to come life everlasting.

What then, are the Benefits of Soul Winning?

    • Empowers Believers for Dominion: For it is written: And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name (Luke 10:17). They were on a soul winning mission and they had dominion over demons. Jesus said to them: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
    • Soul Winning Stimulates Joy Unspeakable: No genuine soul winner ever gets depressed. The Bible records: And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name (Luke 10:17). Because: I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance (Luke 15:7). Remember, what we sow is what we reap (Galatians 6:7). So, when we give joy to heaven, we will reap heavenly joy on the earth. Depression is a destroyer of destinies but when we are on the go for Jesus or praying to God to save the lost; we find ourselves smiling. We can’t be harvesting souls for Jesus and not be rejoicing.
    • Health: We cannot be on the go for God and be serving sickness at the same time. For it is written: And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil (Exodus 23:25-26). We cannot buy that with money. The Bible says: A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health (Proverbs 13:17). This implies, God is committed to keep us fit if we are on the go for Him because: Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit (John 15:2).

However, to enjoy these benefits of soul winning, you must be born again. Are you born again? If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now I know I am born again!” For further reading, please get my books: The Force Of Freedom, The Turnaround Power Of The Word, Following The Path Of The Eagle, Born To Win, All You Need To Have All Your Needs Met and Fulfilling Your Days. Experiencing noiseless breakthroughs via soul winning!

Welcome to this great month of March where you are set to experience noiseless breakthroughs in all facets of your life! Today, we shall focus on Experiencing Noiseless Breakthroughs via Soul Winning!

From scriptures, we discover that soul winning engagement is a commandment. For it is written: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall

be damned (Mark 16: 15-16; see also John 15:1-2; Luke 14:23). In other words, every commandment of scriptures is to be obeyed and it is for our profiting. Thus, it is important to understand that passing the test of obedience is what qualifies every believer for change of levels in the Kingdom. Concerning Abraham, the Bible recordsthat God

commanded him to circumcise all the males in his household. As it is written: This [is] my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised (Genesis 17:10).What was Abraham’s response? And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him (Genesis 17:23).The Bible records that he circumcised everyone including himself at age 90. This implies that, every commandment we ignore is a test and consequently a breakthrough that we ignored and that keeps us in the same class. This is because obedience is the only way to prove the validity of any biblical truth (Deuteronomy 28:1; Malachi 3:10-11). What then is noiseless breakthrough? Noiseless breakthroughs are the acts of God in our lives that are inexplicable but undeniable. They are supernatural breakthroughs without noise. However, obedience to the soul winning commandment is a sure way to getting there (Isaiah 42:7-9; John 3:8; 1 Corinthians 2:9-10).

Also, we discover that soul winning is a master key as it covers whatever anybody’s needs maybe. That is why, without any doubt, it is the most profitable of all Kingdom stewardship endeavours because it covers all things we will ever need. Why is that so? The value of a soul to Jesus is worth more than all the wealth of the world put together. For it is written: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul (Matthew 16:26). This means, the whole world does not compare in value to a soul in the sight of God. So, when we get involved in what is most valuable to God, we become most valuable on the earth to Him. Furthermore, God has chosen us to bring forth fruits. It is written: Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you (John 15:16). But, it is interesting to note that soul winning is every believer’s ministry. The Bible says: I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit (John 15:1-2). So, every branch has a fruit bearing ministry and every believer is a branch of Jesus, the Vine.

Likewise, every child of God has a ministry of reconciling the world back to God. The Bible says: To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:19-20). Hence, when we keep the commandment of soul winning, all things will continue to work together for our good. As it is written: For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous (1 John 5:3). So, every commandment we keep is a demonstration of our love for God and we know that…all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). Now, one cannot love God and not talk about Him to others. For it is written: I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed (Psalm 119:46).

We must understand that, every soul winner is a fisher of men and there is always a coin or a blessing in the mouth of every fish caught.  It is written: And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19). Furthermore, every soul winner is on God’s payroll and any other thing we receive is a stipend. Our real wages are in our enlistment as soul winners. The Bible records: And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together (John 4:36).

In conclusion, soul winning is not a gift neither is it a calling; it is a choice. Noiseless breakthroughs come in response to our obedience to this commandment of soul winning. But, you must be born again in order to reconcile the world to God; because what you don’t have you cannot give. • WINNING SOULS THROUGH MUSIC

    WINNING SOULS THROUGH MUSIC

Music is said to be a food for the soul. This popular saying played out when the youth wing of The Apostolic Faith Campus Fellowship held a special music concert at the Theatre Arts Studio, Abraka Campus of the Delta State University (DELSU).

It was time for spiritual refreshment targeted at winning souls for Christ through music, “having realised that many people now find it difficult to sit down and listen to the word of God for just 30 minutes but are willing to listen to good gospel music that touches the soul with a variety of musical instruments for as long as possible,” one of the organisers said.

Echos of “amen” rented the air as the orchestra played gospel songs. Students clapped excitedly after each rendition. Various musical instruments, such as the violin, viola, trombone, trumpet, baritone, flute, clarinet and keyboard were played by the choristers with skill, a feat that made participating students wonder how the choristers combined academic work with music without stress.

The students were not alone at the musical fiesta. Lecturers and staff, including Dr. Atinuke Idamoyibo of the Music Department, Dr F.C. Ugbe, Geology Department, Dr E.A. Atakpo, Director of Information and Communication Technology, and Dr Jeremond Ekelemu of the Department of Fisheries attended the event.

Also, there were presidents of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) and Joint Christian Campus Fellowship (JCCF), ThankGod Nuwhele and Stanley Efe respectively. Dr Ekelemu gave an exhortation at the service.

Some of the songs played by the choir included You are my all in all by Dennis Jernigan, Abraka must be saved by Paul Akazue, I’m winging my way by J.B Coats, and a special violin solo of Ijoba Orun by Lara George among others. The special violin solo was sung by Emmanuel Ichipi, 400-Level Chemical Engineering.

Elated ThankGod, who just graduated from Philosophy, told CAMPUSLIFE after the event that the concert was interesting and spiritually motivating to the soul. He added: “This kind of event should be organised annually with good publicity to bring in the students because they will love this.”

Sandra Akhayere, 200-Level Business Education, said the concert was uplifting and inspiring. He said I’m winging my way rededicated her spirit to God.

The president of campus fellowship, Zebulum Orogun, 400-Level Geology, attributed the success of the event to God, adding that the support of the pastor of the mother church of the fellowship, Rev. Funsho Shobowale, made the choristers to put in more effort towards the realisation of the concert.

“Glory be to God for the success of the maiden edition of the fellowship’s musical concert. It was a test of the awesome power of faith in the word of God. We cannot forget the exhortation “I can do all things through Christ that strengtheneth: Philippians 4:13-19 of the District Overseer, Reverend Funsho Shobowale, which serves as an impetus from the inception of the concept through its actualisation,” Zebulum said. He thanked the guests and students who graced the event.
