    Odemwingie happy with draw against Southampton

    Nigeria striker Osaze Odemwingie has said Stoke City deserved the point after playing 2-2 with Southampton on Saturday.

    Odemwingie opened his Stoke City account with a 38th minute strike to bring the game to 1-1, MTNFootball.com reports.

    “We deserved a point in the game because we showed great organisation and we defended well,” he said.

    The former West Brom striker, who made a winter switch from Cardiff City to Stoke, was delighted to get his first goal for his new club.

    “Very happy to get my first goal for the club. Good team performance. Big thanks to our fans for the support in this tough weather,” he tweeted.

    Southampton targets Victor Moses

    Southampton are being linked with a summer swoop for Chelsea winger, Victor Moses, who is currently on a season-long loan at Liverpool.

    Saints boss, Mauricio Pochettino is on the lookout for fresh talents in the current transfer window, while he is also making early plans for the summer.

    Moses is apparently among the players he is targeting when he returns to Stamford Bridge following a disappointing loan so far at Anfield.

    The former Wigan man has managed just one goal for the Reds since joining and has struggled to force his way into Brendan Rodgers’ starting line-up in recent weeks. However, he is expected to remain on Merseyside for the second half of the season before then heading back to Chelsea.

    From there, his future looks uncertain and Saints are ready to step in and offer the 23-year-old the chance to resurrect his career on the south coast.

    Chelsea value the Nigeria international at around £6million but may be willing to a deal for less than that in order to free up room in their squad at the end of the season.
