    It was a night of glitz, glamour and networking as Southern Sun Ikoyi brought the year to an end as it treated customers, friends and esteemed individuals of Lagos thriving business community to its exclusive year-end corporate VIP cocktail event at the hotel.

    An annual celebration by the hotel, the year-end VIP cocktail celebrates with Southern Sun Ikoyi’s customers, friends and corporate institutions within the business community where it operates in appreciating them for their consistent support to hotel during the course of the year and in anticipation of their continuous support in the coming year.

    Speaking at the event, General Manager, Southern Sun Ikoyi, Mark Loxley expressed his gratitude to guests for honouring the hotel’s invitation with their presence and their continued business support and patronage of the hotel, especially through the course of the year.

    Loxley continued with a brief business review of the year in which he highlighted the success of the hotel, including achieving new levels in the patronage of its refurbished and expanded meeting room facilities and the improved occupancy level of the hotel within the last quarter in 2018 which was on an average of 72 per cent and further highlighted the improvement in the nation’s economy compared to the previous year.

  • SSI promotes Yoruba culture, cuisine with ‘Faaji Repete’

    In taking its hospitality experience to the next level, Southern Sun Ikoyi (SSI) continues to innovate with menus as it promotes local cuisines and traditions. The hotel hosted guests to its Yoruba themed Faaji Repete menu through its series of themed ethnic Saturday night menus.

    The ethnic Saturday night menu which commenced with the themed Igbo Amaka celebration, left guests truly excited with inspired local menus by the head chef and cultural representation of the restaurant décor alongside the energetic performance of the traditional troupe who ensured that guests of the hotel left with a truly memorable experience and in awe.

    Faaji Repete at Southern Sun Ikoyi was an experience which lived up to the hotel’s reputation of a complete hospitality experience as guests with different pallets were treated to an array of indigenous Yoruba cuisines which hitherto might not have been seen on the dining of any international hotel.

    The themed celebration offered guests  appetizing dishes on menu accompanied with fuji music and other exciting tunes. The reponse was positive as guests swayed to the tunes and good food.

    Through guests experiences and comments, the themed ethnic Saturday night by SSI has showed that there is a lot of untapped cultural menus which has reignited the need for more local cuisines in the hospitality industry as the themed Igbo Amaka and Faaji Repete nights witnessed an interests in the local dishes introduced by foreign guests of the hotel who enjoyed these delicacies. The local dishes for Nigerians present reminisced childhood experiences and dishes which a rare in most menus today.

    Southern Sun Hotel, Ikoyi brought the year to an end with a VIP cocktail party. The hotel treated customers, friends and esteemed individuals of Lagos thriving business community to an exclusive year end Corporate VIP Cocktail event, which also marked the unveiling of its newly refurbished meeting and boardroom facilities.

    Celebrating the refurbished new look of the hotel and speaking fondly about the success of the year end corporate VIP cocktail event, Mark Loxley, General Manager Southern Sun Ikoyi thanked guests for their continued business support and patronage of the hotel, especially through the year 2016.

    Southern Sun Ikoyi has collaborated with 2016 NPA Lagos International Polo Tournament as a major sponsor for the tournament.     Southern Sun Ikoyi Hotel has won its  fifth consecutive Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2015. The Certificate of Excellence, which is earned only by receiving consistently great reviews from the hotel’s customers and international travellers, posted onto the world’s largest travel portal trip advisor. The hotel says the award “fully reaffirms Southern Sun Ikoyi’s  commitment to delivering quality, consistent and leading service within Nigeria’s thriving hospitality sector.”

    Reflecting on the thrill of receiving the desirable international certification, General Manager of Southern Sun Ikoyi, Mark Loxley, commented that “the much coveted certification is indeed a great honour, continuing that, “the fifth consecutive win for the hotel is of particular significance being that this distinctive certification does not only celebrate the hotel’s excellence in hospitality services but more importantly that the award is voted for, by the esteemed guests, travelers and visitors to the hotel ”.
