  • Burna Boy helms new Star commercial

    AFROBEAT sensational, Burna Boy has unveiled his new commercial with Star Lager Beer.

    The commercial, themed, “Come to the brighter side” shows the life of Burna Boy as a music superstar, seeing him in various elements; during a photo shoot and at a bar. The ad is also accompanied by a jingle composed and performed by the singer.

    As part of his role as the new ambassador of Star, the new campaign will also see Burna feature in the billboard ads.

    Speaking after the unveiling of the ad, Burna expressed his delight in starring in his first commercial,

    “I have never been much of an actor, so even though the cameras were on, what you see in this ad is me just being myself and celebrating the brighter side with Star. I’m thrilled to be part of the Star family and I can’t wait to partner with Star to create more magic and delight my fans.”

    The ‘Giant of Africa’ crooner has continued his remarkable success of 2018, releasing a new track, ‘Dangote’, which has enjoyed massive airplay.

  • Star Lager Beer for One Lagos Fiesta

    One Lagos Fiesta will begin on the 24th of December 2018 as count down for the over 480 hours of pure entertainment and fun activities begins.

    Star Lager Beer has been named as one of the official sponsors of the annual showpiece happening in five key districts within Lagos State for eight days.

    Residents are open to celebrate the holiday season at any of the select locations which includes; Agege Stadium, Ikorodu Town Hall, Badagry, Epe Marina and Eko Atlantic

    An Array Of Stars including Olamide, Davido, Pasuma, Sunny Ade, Slim Case will be delivering some energetic performance at all venues to lite up simultaneously the Star One Lagos Fiesta.

    According to the State Commissioner of Tourism, Mr Steve Ayorinde, a lucky winner will go home with a car at the fiesta, however, the potential winner must have a PVC in order to qualify for the raffle draw.

  • Star Lager Beer Subscribe for Olamide, Wizkid, Kcee Concerts

    Star Lager Beer has planned to sponsor a range of music concerts holding across Nigeria this December, this has been revealed.

    The foremost Nigerian beer brand will be involved in  Wizkid Live in Concert on the 19th of December, Olamide Live in Concert on the 23rd of December, Burna Live on the 26th of December, Uli Music Festival on the 30th of December and Warri Again on the 28th of December, 2018.

    In an exciting online unveil, Star Lager Beer announced its support for the biggest music events this month.

    Speaking on the announcement, the Marketing Director Nigerian Breweries Plc, Emmanuel Oriakhi said,

  • Star Lager ends promo, produces over 250 millionaires

    Nigerian Breweries Plc, brewers of Star Lager beer, has announced the conclusion of the Star Lager Millionaires Promo, a national consumer promotion that was designed to reward football fans and lovers of Nigeria’s premium beer brand.

    The promo, driven by limited special edition bottles of Star with unique crown corks bearing winning identifications were redeemed via mobile phone USSD codes. Over 300 million naira worth of prizes were awarded to thousands of consumers during the course of the ‘United We Shine’ promo.  Consumers won instant airtime, cash prizes of N1 million, N2 million, N5 million and N10 million plus millions of free drinks and other items. In total, the promo produced over 250 millionaires.

    The cash winners had their prizes presented to them at Star organised gala events in various cities by the brand representatives in the presence of various audiences, as the brand show cased the transparency of the process.   • Star Larger starts consumer promo

    Nigerian Breweries Plc, makers of Star Lager Beer, has announced the launch of the Star Lager Millionaires Promo, a national consumer exercise designed to reward football fans and lovers of Nigeria’s premium beer brand. The mega promo, expected to be the company’s biggest ever, is billed to give out over N400 million naira in cash between June 15 and August 15, 2018.

    Speaking on the Millionaires Promo, which is part of Star Lager’s ‘Nigeria United We Shine’ campaign which commenced a few weeks ago, Portfolio Manager National Premium, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Olayinka Bakare, declared:

    The hundreds of the Nigeria national team fans dazzled to the live performances from the trio of M.I, Small Doctor and DJ BIG N at the 360 exquisite dome set by Nigerian Breweries brand, Star Lager for the match.

    It was really after the three time African champion recorded their first victory at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.

    The Eagles victory against Iceland got light up to a full blown rave party after Ahmed Musa-the matchwinner- scored his second goal minutes after the hitting the back of the net for the first goal…

  • Star Lager entertains football fans with music

    After successful Star Fan Park activations in Calabar, Jos and Uyo, official beer of the Nigerian Super Eagles, Star Lager beer in  April 2018, extended the deluxe live football and music experience to Port Harcourt as the Super Eagles clashed with the Leopards of Democratic Republic of Congo in an international friendly match.

    Football fans in Port-Harcourt were treated to premium entertainment experience in the hours leading up to the match with in-bar activations by Star Lager beer in the Rivers State capital, where fans were given exclusive invites to the special screening of the match.

    Turntable specialist and artiste DJ Neptune, had hundreds of music and football fans singing along to songs off his latest album ‘The Greatness’ as they cheered on the Super Eagles on the night.

    One of the lucky winners, Victor Sose, expressing his delight, said, “I am super happy to have won this prize on this night celebrating the Super Eagles. It is an honour to be part of this Star Fan Park experience and I hope there will be more to come.”

  • Eagles hits PH in Star branded bus for DR Congo match

     

    The Super Eagles are already warming up for Monday’s international friendly match with DR. Congo in Port Harcourt.

    Coach Gernot Rohr’s led national team landed in the state capital in style and star and checked in to their Meridien Hotel on Saturday.

    Captain John Mikel Obi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, John Ogu, Francis Uzoho,  and the entire 30 players in Eagles camp preparing for the World Cup landed in high spirit as for the pre-World Cup duel.

    The Super Eagles players were conveyed in colourful branded buses provided by Star Lager beer who had earlier in the year signed a multi-year mega deal with the Nigerian Football Federation as official beer of the senior national team.

    The player have been training in Uyo following the friendly game against Atletico Madrid, and have since resumed training on Sunday at Adokiye Aimesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.

    Only Victor Moses is not in the camp. He has been granted permission to join  the rest of the team  in London, where Eagles will play against England on the 2nd of June at the Wembley Stadium in another international friendly.

    The Leopards of Democratic Republic of Congo have settled down in Port Harcourt ahead of the friendly match and are currently lodged at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt.

    STAR lager beer and its digital marketing agency Bytesize have extended the real time experiences of attendees at Nigeria’s biggest music tour “Star Music’s The Trek” to social media platforms with the use of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.

    The 10-city concert tour which featured Nigeria’s best artistes warmed its way into the hearts of music lovers with the use of RFID-enabled devices and smart wrist tags that offered them a unique interactive experience where they shared pre-scripted and branded updates on both Facebook and Twitter.

    Obabiyi Fagade, Brand Manager STAR, Nigerian Breweries Plc., said in a statement made available to journalists that, “STAR continues to hold steady as a trailblazing brand by giving music lovers in this digital age the very first socially enabled concert in the country.

    “Concert goers in six cities on the trek enjoyed the fun experienced along with great music. We hope to improve this experience on subsequent activations on the Star Music platform, and also encourage our consumers and fans to stay close as they shine with us.”

    17 RFID devices were deployed in this year’s “Star Music Trek” which started on June 8 in Festac Town, Lagos and ended in style on August 10 in Surulere. These devices allowed users to automatically post pictures and messages on their social timelines.

    STAR’s social strategy for The Trek grows from the campaign objectives and the brand’s ubiquitous presence with a 250,000+ strong Facebook fan page, a verified Twitter account and other digital footprints. This integrated social campaign has driven impressive results.

    Bytesize CEO Bukola Akingbade believes that digital platforms offer the best solutions for brands seeking deeper connections with their consumers.

    “With the use of RFID technology, we have synchronized offline and digital platforms seamlessly in a way that enhances user experience and keeps the brand relevant to the consumer, “she said.

    The response by users has been both amazing and inspiring, as the concluded activations on The Trek saw crowds gathered around to interact with the devices while letting out delightful “oohs and aahs.”

    As these interactions were posted online, it was interesting to see the fans that were not on the Star Music Trek had joined the conversation around it with diverse comments ranging from the excited and the envious to the cynical and the downright hilarious.

    Star Lager beer produced by Nigerian Breweries Plc has unveiled a promo with the theme Star League – Text & Play.

    Speaking at the briefing in Lagos, Mr Walter Drenth, Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, said: “Over the years, Star Lager Beer has risen to become the number one favourite beer (Lager and Stout) in Nigeria. As the undisputed Lager market leader (exit 2012), Star is, undoubtedly, the biggest beer brand in Nigeria. The brand has continued to keep its consumers actively engaged all-year round through its exciting consumer engagement platforms that cut through music, football and consumer promotions.”

    He said Star upgraded its packaging (Staniol and new body and back label) in July last year to re-assure consumers of its premium quality and modern feel. The packaging upgrade saw the introduction of new brand communication and the launch of a new brand pay-off based on the Star brand story: Shine On.

    Said Drenth: “It is an innovative platform where consumers would be actively engaged throughout the duration of the promotion, while they stand the chance to win exciting prizes in the process. It is unique, interesting and different. The Star League-Text & Play will run from April 2 to May 31.

     

    The promotion is a crown cork based one- that means consumers will buy and open a bottle of Star, enjoy the rich taste, look under the crown cork and there they find their ticket to be part of the exciting Star League. There will be two categories of winning crown corks: The crown corks will have codes with differentiated points in 5 bands of 10pts, 20pts, 30pts, 40pts and 200pts.

    To participate, consumers will send by SMS the code under the crown cork with their full name, age and state of residence to short code 30383. Consumers must have a mobile telephone line from any of the mobile service providers in Nigeria, registered in their name. The SMS system will work with all major telecoms operators in the country.

    The mobile phone number used to send the code will be used to register the consumer on the Star website and Star database. They will automatically get a response with the number of points earned per crown cork and a directive to check their “standing” on the “League Table” at (www.star-nigeria.com). This applies to every subsequent successful entry. The consumer will accumulate points over the period of the promo using the registered mobile number. With every subsequent successful entry, they will get a response with the cumulative points to date on that particular phone number.

    What makes the promo more exciting is that consumers will have the opportunity to view their position by the points accumulated on a specially designed League table per State of entry on the Star website.
