  • 2019: Tiwa Salvage Celebrates First Endorsement Deal in Style

    African music superstar and Marvin Record’s first lady, Tiwatope Savage-Balogun is now the new face of Star Lager’s citrus variant, Star Radler.

    The popular Nigerian singer on Friday night celebrated the new multi-million naira ambassadorial deal with a surprised live perform show in Victoria Island on Friday.

    Tiwa Savage was joined onstage by the energy Gad, Do2dTun, Limpopo king, Kcee, DMW star, Peruzzi and DJ Sose for the surprised out-door show on Friday night.

    The endorsement which has made Tiwa the first female brand ambassador for the brand comes just two months after Burna Boy was also announced as Star Lager beer’s brand ambassador.

      

    The brand studded fans show comes few hours after releasing her own cover of Kizz Daniel’s single “Fvck You”.

    It was right there on-point and blaring blazer for music fans that trooped out for the night hangout party.

  • Star holds music concerts for customers 

    Star Lager Beer has sponsored some music concerts across the country.

    Wizkid, Olamide, and Burna Boy were among the stars who performed at the events, which held in Lagos, Warri, and Port Harcourt.

    Nigerian Breweries Plc Marketing Director  Emmanuel Oriakhi said: ”In June 1949, the first bottle of Star lager beer rolled off the bottling lines of the Lagos brewery of Nigerian Breweries.     The launch of the Star Music App and Star The Winner Is were other avenues  the beer brand used music as a vehicle to engage with its consumers. Before now, Star also achieved a similar effect through Star Quest, which provided the platform for the discovery of several established Nigerian musicians, such as KCee who won the inaugural Star Quest in 2002 as part of the twin-act KC Presh.

  • Star Lager Celebrates World Cup Eagles, Fans

    Star Lager Beer continued its support for the Nigerian National team at the Super Eagles Dome in Lagos, as the squad faced Argentina in the make or mar final Group D game in Russia on Tuesday June 26th 2018.

    The Dome hosted thousands of passionate  fans in an atmosphere of exciting football, music and games as they cheered the team all night, hoping for a positive result. Even though the game ended in a victory for the Argentines who ended up joining Croatia from Group D in the Round of 16, viewers all over the world acknowledged the Nigerian team’s resilience, paying homage to their bravery and exciting style of play.

  • ARTISTES GEAR UP FOR STAR MUSIC TREK

    AFTER a successful outing in the city of Makurdi, the 2016 Star Music Trek train is moving to the center of Unity, Abuja.

    The concert, which is sponsored by Nigeria’s foremost lager, Star will feature blockbuster performances by some leading acts in the Nigerian music industry such as Darey, Davido, Falz, MI, Ice prince, DJ Neptune and DJ Big N. Comedian, Laffup, will host the fun-filled concert.

    According to the organisers, the Abuja edition of Star Music Trek will take place at the old parade ground, Abuja on Saturday October 8, from 7pm and will broadcast live on HipTV.

    The nationwide music tour, which has thrilled Nigerian music fans for almost two decades, has a tradition of bringing the country’s biggest artistes on stage for exciting times with the audience in various cities.

    Following Abuja’s concert, the 2016 Star Music Trek will be making stops in Calabar on the 22nd of October, in Owerri on the 12th of November and the grand finale in Lagos on 26th of November.

    Zambia’s Tiwamyenji Phiri was recently crowned as the 2016 Airtel TRACE Music Star winner by U.S. international Pop/R&B superstar Keri Hilson at the grand finale which held at the Ultima Studios in Lagos.

    The competition amongst the 10 finalists was fierce, with Tanzania’s Melissa John beating Madagascar’s representative Johanna Rakotomavo to take second place. The night offered great talent but finally it was Tiwa whom the celebrity judges, Keri Hilson, Briant “BeeHigh” Biggs and Fally Ipupa voted as Africa’s next top talent.

    Phiri’s prize includes a record deal with a major label; mentorship for a year with singer/songwriter, actress and record producer Keri Hilson, for a total value exceeding $500,000, as well as worldwide media exposure through the various TRACE platforms.

    “I look forward to working with Tiwa over the next year and to share some of the knowledge and experiences I have acquired in the music industry over the years”, says Keri Hilson.

    The glitzy event attracted the cream of Nigeria’s entertainment circuit including Nigerian comedian Chigul, Hip Hop artist Vector as well as celebrity artist and speed painter Fola David, who painted a tribute portrait of late celebrated boxer Mohammed Ali at the event.

    There was also a performance by the 2015 Airtel TRACE Music Star winner from Tanzania, Mayunga Nalimi, who performed his latest track, “Please Don’t Go Away” which features renowned singer and last year’s celebrity mentor Akon as well as Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer Patoranking.

    Nigeria’s leading beer brand, Star Lager, yesterday announced a partnership with the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), to be the first official beer partner of the NPFL.

    The event brought together stakeholders from the Nigerian football industry on Tuesday, to celebrate a major milestone in the country’s football history.

    This first of its kind partnership will commence from the 2015/2016 football league season and end with the   2019/2020 football league season.

    Commenting on the partnership during the event, Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries, Franco Maria-Maggi said: “We’ll  findways to use this unique partnership of the NPFL to give our consumers more reasonsto enjoy the local football. Football in Nigeria and Star Lager have a proud past, strong present and very bright future in front of them.”

    By the time her movie, All the Right Reasons, is screened to the world in April, it will rekindle the memories of Mrs. ChinenyeOkwudiliBalogun, the little girl who back in 2005 as an SSS2 student, authored the novel, ‘Lonely Hearts,’ which got her the ’Teenager of The Year 2005’ award, organised by the Teens Resource Centre, Lagos.

    To others, it would be for her roles in big television dramas, soap operas and films such as TinselArrested Intelligence, SitandaBloody Gold, Mental CaseBlood MoneyGhost in LoveVictims of the SocietySecrets and ScandalsHappy Family and Ghost Lovers among others.

    But Nenye, as she is fondly called by friends is back in Nigeria from Orlando, Florida, USA to promote her new work.

    All the Right Reasons is co-produced by her husband, TemitopeBalogun, under their outfit, TFC Production Company.

    The movie, which she says is inspired by true life events stars the likes of Patience Ozokwor, Femi Jacobs and several American actors, underscores her ability a creative writer.

    Nenye who grew up in Lagos, cited the megacity in the story’s sub-plots as her way of giving back to the society, adding that the movie cost approximately $200,000.

    Narrating her humble beginning, the budding actress cum producer said:  ‘My journey into the creative industry started from my early years in life when I was seven years old. Then, I would gather my siblings and tell them folklores, most of which I created. Soon, it grew to including other children in the neighbourhood to hear my stories. As I got into the high school, from my JSS 1, I began to write and compile my stories and distribute them to classmates and friends who cared to read.”

    Chinenye, who hails from of  Ideato North local Government in Imo state was born in Jos but  spent the better part of her childhood in Lagos with her parents, said while in the University of Jos studying Law, she featured in her first big screen film, Sitanda sponsored by Amstel Box Office.

    She described her journey into the movie industry as smooth and rough at the same time, “it was smooth because after my first appearance in Sitanda, a director, Emeka Hill Umeasor took interest in my talent. He was about to shoot a movie at the time Sins of Rachael, and I was a perfect match for the character. From then on he became like my guardian in the industry, he would feature me in his films, and even starred in Bloody Gold. I began meeting more people who recognized my talent and also featured me in their movies and soaps like Mental Case, Blood Money, Ghost in Love, Victims of the Society, Secrets and Scandals, Happy Family andGhost Lovers among others.

    After her tertiary education, she relocated to join her husband in the U.S., where she decided to further her studies in Keiser University Florida and then went ahead to open TFC PRODUCTIONS LIMITED, a film production company which was incorporated in July 2015 in Orlando, Florida, and recently completed the production of my first film, All the Right Reasons.

    It was all fun and excitement on Friday night, as top rated artistes stormed the Star music trek sign-on gig. The gig, which took place at  the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, kicked off at about 8pm and lasted till late in the night.

    The event feature performances from the likes of Skales, Oritse Femi, Black Magic, Lil Kesh, Sound Sultan and General Pype. This was preceded by the unveiling of the names of cities the shows will touch, as well as headliners for this year’s edition of the trek.

    Speaking on this year’s trek, Corporate Affairs Adviser, NB Plc, Kufre Ekanem stated that the choice of acts was based on their dedication to their musical careers, an attitude the Star brand seeks to celebrate.

    Among those revealed to perform  at the road show include pop icon, 2face Idibia, BET Awards winner, Davido, Wizkid, Chocolate City rapper, MI and Seyi Shay. Other artistes are, Timaya, Wande Coal, Burna Boy, Naeto C, Mr. Raw, Yemi Alade, Oritse Femi, Faze, Runtown, Cynthia Morgan, Banky W, Sean Tizzle, Pasuma, Sound Sultan and Black Magic.

    The DJs on board are DJXclusive, DJ Snoop Damaja, DJ Switch, Tony Blaze and DJ Big N. Hosts are Lafup, Gbenga Adeyinka and Do2dtun.

    The trek will kick off on Saturday, May 2, 2015 in Calabar, Cross Rivers State and will visit other cities like Abakaliki, Awka, Makurdi, Sapele, Auchi, Ibadan and Lagos.

    Present at the sign-on gig were Banky W, Naeto C, Sound Sultan, MI, Mr Raw, Seyi Shay, Oritse Femi and other super stars.
