    Sterling Bank Plc has rewarded one of its loyal customers with a brand new Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) for being a devoted customer.

    Miss Homa Amadi-Nna (Trans-Amadi Branch), Port Harcourt, the star winner in the Sterling Bank’s just concluded Savers’ Promo, drove home last Friday a brand new SUV.

    Speaking after taking possession of the car, she said the bank has “by this gesture, delivered on its promises to its customers.”

    Winning the car, according to Miss Amadi–Nna, came to her as a surprise. She advised customers of the bank and prospective ones to continue to bank with the lender “because there is reward for such loyalty.”

    She said: “I am happy and overjoyed by this gesture. The bank has kept its promises. I will market the bank to my friends, co-workers and family members. I will tell them that if they are loyal, they will receive good rewards from Sterling Bank.”

    Sterling Bank’s Group Head, Retail Products,Gbenga Adegoke, said Amadi–Nna was one of the nine outstanding winners who won special prizes. Four customers won N500, 000 each while four other won N1 million. Also, 84 others customers won home theatres and refrigerators as consolation prizes in the promo that started in May last year.

    Chief Finance Officer of the bank, Abubakar Suleiman, said Sterling Bank is taking a long-term view of its customers, to ensure that they get the best out of every single transaction. He said the bank will continue to take steps that guarantee its service to its customers.

    Suleiman said that the promo presents an opportunity for prospective customers to come and subscribe to the bank’s services by opening new accounts. He said that those customers that have been with the lender will always be remembered through quality services and tangible benefits such as the cash and gifts.

    Group Head, Bancassurance, John Akingbade, said the promo has enhanced Sterling Bank’s balance sheet and substantially raised awareness on the need to bring the unbanked into the financial system.

    He said some of the winners that won cash were able to use the funds to boost their financial flow, while others used the money to start new businesses.

    Representative of Consumer Protection Council,Mrs Ngozika Obidike, expressed delight over the conduct of the promo. She said the council had been following the promo from the registration point to the last draw to ensure that the highest standard is maintained. She applauded the bank for ensuring that the legality, conduct of the promo and its objective were adhered to.

    Head, Regulation and Monitoring, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Jude Ogaga, said the body wants banks’ customers to have faith in savings promo. He said the promo was well regulated and transparent.

    Meanwhile, the lender has opened a branch at its Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island Lagos. The bank’s Regional Channel Co-ordinator, Mena Sidahome, said the lender would build 40 of similar branches in line with its improved service quality and commitment to surpassing customers’ expectations.

    Sterling Bank Plc has launched a new financial product christened KIA KIA Account.

    This is in line with the lender’s objective of making its services available to everyone in the country irrespective of socio-economic status and in comformity with the new Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations set by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

    KIA KIA account, according to a statement from the bank, gives people in the low income bracket such as artisans and other unbanked people in the country easy and instant access to top class banking services. The account is distinguished by the immense ease and convenience associated with its opening process as it can be opened on the spot even without the customer being physically present at the branch with little or no KYC documentation required.

    The KYC requirement for the lower end of the population has always been a challenge as experienced with opening an account. Sterling KIA KIA account, the statement explained, affords the customers the opportunity to open an account without hassles, which implies that prospective customers can complete their savings account opening process and start running the account instantly by filling a simple form onsite at branches or online.

    Customers can open a Sterling KIA KIA account with zero balance and there is no minimum balance requirement on the account once it starts to operate. As with most savings accounts, only the account holder can make withdrawals on the account; but deposits by third parties are allowed. Holders of the Sterling KiaKia Account are able to transfer money to other accounts within and outside Sterling Bank in Nigeria.

    Sterling Bank at the weekend gave out a brand new Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to one of its loyal customers – Amadi-Nna Homa – the grand prize winner in its savers’ promo.

    The winner’s account is domiciled at the Trans Amadi (Port Harcourt) branch of the bank.

    Other four customers -Enilari Oladipupo, Musa Adamu, Adeleke Olusegun and Nunu-Janet Aduka won N1 million each while Badmus Dauda, Danjuma Ringin, Lawal Kadijat & Maruf and Nkiri Denis among others won N500, 000 each. There were also consolation prizes such as home theaters and refrigerators won by 10 other customers.

    The star prize winner won by saving a minimum of N100,000 for three months; customers that won N1 million saved N50,000 for three months while those that won N500,000 saved a minimum of N25,000 for three months.

    The winners emerged after electronic draws witnessed by Consumer Protection Council (CPC), National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), the media and members of staff of the bank.

    Sterling Bank’s Head, Retail Markets, Donald Osa-edokpolor said rewarding these customers is a confirmation of the bank’s integrity and commitment to its customers. According to him, the exercise is also part of the lender’s commitment to financial inclusion, which entails reaching the unbanked segment of the population with financial products.

    He said the bank would continue to support its loyal customers in growing their businesses and meeting their personal needs.

    He advised the bank’s customers to cultivate savings culture to enable them save funds for the rainy day.

    The bank’s Group Head, Liability Products and Bancassurance, John Akingbade, said 70 winners have, so far, emerged since the bank commenced the promo about six months ago.

    He said the winners have collected their prizes, adding that the promo has achieved its objective of achieving financial inclusion within the banking sector.

    Chief Planning, Research and Statistics, CPC, Susie Odiete, said all the draws that produced the winners were transparent. She said that the council has insisted on electronic draws because of the transparency of such process adding that all the past winners have been contacted, and they all confirmed, that the have received their prizes.

  • Sterling Bank rewards more customers

    STERLING Bank Plc has rewarded another set of customers in its on-going Savers’ Promo which kicked-off in July this year. The bank, during the monthly draw of the promo in Lagos on Friday, said 14 customers across the country won both consolation and cash prizes for October edition.

    Out of this, four customers won a cash prize of N5 million each, while 10 others won consolation prizes such as refrigerators and Home Theatres.

    The cash prize winners are Abioye Oluwakemi Grace ( Ikeja Mainland Equatorial Trust Bank (ETB); Ocheinu Adah ( National Assembly Branch); Taiwo Godwin Anoemuah( Challenge ETB Branch); and Pepple Douglas Elewe( Uyo ETB Branch).

    Winners under the consolation category include Madu Stella ( Ilupeju branch, Lagos); Ibrahim Olumide Kazeem( Ikorodu-ETB Branch); Ipinlaye Moses Abayomi( Garki Area 8 Abuja); Elias Friday ( Garki-ETB Branch); Kolujo Abidemi Segun(Ijebu-Ode ETB-Branch); and Igwe Emeka Chidi( Owerri Road Branch). Others include Ojeabulu Omogbohu Esther( Benin Sapele Road- ETB-Branch); Mrs Uchenna Osuji( Onitsha Bridge ETB-Branch); Olusoji Aina (Port Harcourt Mainland ETB Branch) and David Daniel Etuk( Uyo, ETB-Branch).

    Head Consumers Protection Council, Lagos Branch, Mrs Ngozika Obidike said the process of selecting winners for the promo was transparent.

    Group Head, Liability Products, Mr John Akingbade said the promo is intended to reward loyal customers of the bank, and further promote the lender’s brand. He said the bank is leveraging on the promo to take banking to the nooks and crannies of the country.

    “This is the bank’s way of promoting financial inclusion policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) so that more people would have access to banking services. We have made the account opening process more convenient to customers to ensure wider accessibility of services. Four draws have been organised, with fourteen winners emerging from each of the draw. So far, 56 winners have emerged from the promo”, he said.
