    Afropop music star Peter ‘Mr. P’ Okoye has made a powerful return with his latest single, ‘Odo’ featuring Ghana’s Stonebwoy.

    The new single is scheduled for release today, May 16.

    ‘Odo’ is a captivating blend of Highlife and R&B, that pays homage to genre legend Marvin Gaye while delivering the signature style and synergy of both artists.

    Produced by Mr. P and his longtime collaborator Goldswarm, ‘Odo’ is a melodic tribute to love — exploring the passion, assurance, and timeless essence of true connection.

    Co-written by Mr. P and Stonebwoy, the single pairs smooth vocals with deeply resonant lyrics,

    designed to strike a chord with fans old and new.

    “This song is really personal to me,” says Mr. P. “It came from a place of deep reflection and emotion, and I hope it connects with people who’ve experienced real love.”

    The release will be accompanied by a music video and premieres today across both digital and traditional media platforms.

    The release follows Mr P’s previous singles including ‘Winning’ and ‘Attention.’

    Glo-sponsored African Voices Playmakers hosts Stonebwoy

    The Glo-sponsored African Voices Playmakers has played host to Ghana’s Afropop and reggae singer, Stonebwoy on the magazine programme of the Cable News Network (CNN).

    Stonebwoy is the stage name of Livingstone Etse Satekla, who was born 1988 in Ashaiman, Accra.

    The afropop, dancehall and reggae artist is the CEO of Burniton Music Group.

    He began making music in his early school days and realised his talents and abilities as a lyricist and scriptwriter at an early age, remembering writing and acting drama pieces as far back as the fourth year in primary school.

    Stonebwoy who comes out strong for the release of his latest album, 5th Dimension, with Def Jam recordings is a recipient of several awards and recognitions. Some of them include 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and Africa category at the 2015 BET Awards. He also won two Billboard plaques as well as the Golden Club plaque from Boomplay after surpassing 100 million streams on the platform.

    In 2019, he was listed as one  of the 50 (fifty) young CEOs by YCEO and Avance media.

    African Voices Playmakers will broadcast the interview on CNN today Saturday at 7.30 a.m again at 11 a.m. Further rebroadcasts will be on Sunday 3.30 a.m., 6.00 p.m. and on Monday at 3.00 a.m. The edition will be repeated next week Saturday at 7.30 a.m., 11 a.m., on Sunday at 4.30 a.m., 7.00 p.m. and on Monday at 4.00 a.m.

    I’m Nigerian from Oyo Kingdom, says Ghanaian singer Stonebwoy

    Popular Ghanaian Afro-pop star, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known as Stonebwoy, has disclosed that he hails from the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria.

    The Dancehall musician disclosed this during an encounter with popular car influencer, Ola of Lagos.

    He stated that he is a Nigerian and that his tribe Ewe is from Oyo Kingdom.

    According to him, his ancestor migrated from the Southern part of Nigeria before settling in Ghana making him trace his roots to Nigeria, Oyo Kingdom.

    In his words:  “Me sef nah Niger, no lies. Me nah Ewe from Oyo Kingdom, my tribe migrated from Nigeria to Ghana here, na we get Illesha. Shout-out to my people in the southern part of Nigeria, check Ewe, we root straight to Yoruba”, Stonebwoy said.
