    Eid-El-Fitr: Lagos council chief greets Muslims

    The Chairman of Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, has admonished Muslim faithful to sustain the lessons of sacrifice, discipline and love learnt during the period of Ramadan beyond this period.

    The Chairperson said Nigerians must use the period for a sober reflection on the state of things in the country.

    She urged them to pray fervently for the peace and tranquility of the nation.

    Congratulating the Muslim Ummah for completing one of the Five Pillars of Islam, she said “Remember that moderation is important in everything you do during this period.”

    She said the Muslim faithful has gone through one of the most rigorous Islamic obligations of one month fast and prayers as well as other forms of worship and urged all believers to imbibe the lessons learnt during the Ramadan period through sacrifices, almsgiving to the needy, continuous exhibition of piety as well as charity to one another.

    “The Holy Month of Ramadan is an opportunity for our Muslim brothers and sisters to deepen their relationship with Allãh, promote a life of sacrifice, charity, and love for one another,” the Chairman said.

    She also noted that the period of the Eid celebration was a clarion call for Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of the season, such as selfless service to God and humanity as well as a sincere commitment to righteous conducts in private and public life.

    “Let us remember we are one people and continue to encourage one another to contribute to peace and unity amongst us. This will ultimately ensure our country remains the great nation that we are all proud of.”

    Princess Animashaun reiterated the determination of her administration to deliver democratic dividends and called for cooperation from all citizens of the local government to enable government succeed, especially in the ongoing peace process.

    “As the local government elections fast approaching, I remain thankful and committed to the growth and prosperity of the Epe Local Government Area and its people in delivering of the dividends of democracy, I also implore the residents to remain steadfast and resilience with our government, we will leave no stone unturned for the actualisation of our aims and objectives of the present administration,” she said

    The Chairperson of Epe Local Government of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, has described her father and the paramount ruler of Epe land, Arolugbade, Oloja of Epe land, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, as a quintessential traditional ruler and custodian of the culture and tradition of Epe land.

    She greeted him on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

    A congratulatory message by the chairperson said: ‘’As I take a moment to reflect on the impactful life you’ve lived, I feel extremely pleased to extend our warmest felicitations to you on the occasion of your 80th birthday.

     “This auspicious day marks a significant milestone in your illustrious life, and we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this momentous occasion with you ‘Baba mi’.

    “As your daughter and the chairman of Epe Local Government, I am grateful for the invaluable lessons you have taught me over the years.

     “Your exemplary leadership, wisdom and commitment to the well-being of our people have been a source of inspiration to me and numerous people.”

    Princess Animashaun said the contributions of the monarch to the preservation and promotion of Yoruba culture in Epe, his efforts towards the unity and progress of the council, as well as the promotion of traditional institution were unquantifiable.

    Lagos council chief greets residents

    Epe Local Government of Lagos State Chair, Princess Surah Animashaun, has described 2025 as a year of changing the gears of development in Epe, state and country.

     In her New Year message, the chairperson wishes the people, state and Nigerians a happy and productive year.

     She reflected on challenges faced by the council, state and nation  last year and expressed hope for the future.

     “I welcome everyone to 2025. We must lift up our hands to God, in gratitude, for His grace and benevolence to Nigeria in 2024,” she said.

    Animashaun noted the resilience of residents, acknowledging the sacrifice of everyone and expressed gratitude to God for His grace.

    She also noted the council’s efforts in addressing challenges in the past year, and described 2025 as critical and pivotal in accelerating change.

     The chairperson emphasised the need for unity and collaboration among the people, urging them to work towards the shared vision of a prosperous and productive Epe, Lagos State and Nigeria.
