    Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Super Eagles wing-back Taye Taiwo has started individual training ahead of HJK Helsinki’s Finnish Veikkausliiga clash against HIFK today.

    The former Marseille and Queens Park Rangers star suffered an ankle injury during last weekend’s Cup final with SJK and had to be substituted in the first minute of extra time.

    Before this latest setback, Taiwo had spent about two months on the sidelines due to an injury he sustained in a Europa League clash against Beroe on July 21.

    This season, the free-kick expert has scored 8 goals across all competitions, including six in the top-flight.

    HJK Helsinki fullback, Taye Taiwo opened his account for the Finnish powerhouse in the 1-0 victory over IFK Mariehamn in the League Cup.

    HJK Helsinki have extended the contract binding them with Nigeria international Taye Taiwo after the defender impressed in the last two months.

    In other words, the 27 – time Finnish champions have activated a clause which was inserted into his earlier contract that allows them to prolong his stay by an additional season.

    Despite lacking match practice for more than a year prior to his arrival at the Sonera Stadium, Taiwo has gone the distance in every single game contested by HJK in the Veikkausliiga and has not been cautioned once.
