    TFN partners foundation, others to empower innovators

    Teach For Nigeria (TFN) has concluded the 2025 edition of its Incubation Hub Pitch Competition, an initiative designed to empower alumni of the TFN Fellowship Programme to transform their “Be The Change” projects into scalable social enterprises.

    The event, which was held in Lagos, brought together key stakeholders, industry leaders, and partners to witness 12 pioneering alumni showcase innovative solutions aimed at solving Nigeria’s most pressing education challenges.

    Chief Executive Officer of TFN, Molade Adeniyi, highlighted the significance of the Incubation Hub as a driver of systemic change.

    “The Incubation Hub was launched as part of Teach For Nigeria’s commitment to empowering our alumni to lead change beyond the Fellowship. Its purpose is to support the growth and scale of early-stage social innovations that address systemic challenges in education. Earlier this year, we welcomed 30 outstanding early-stage social entrepreneurs, carefully selected from a competitive pool of 87 applicants. Over the last three months, participants have received enterprise development training, mentorship, and strategic support to refine their ideas into scalable and sustainable solutions,” she said.

    She emphasised the hub’s long-term impact, noting that since its launch in 2020, the programme has supported over 60 education-focused projects, disbursed more than N10 million in seed funding, and impacted over 2,500 educators and 15,000 children across Nigeria.

    The 2025 cohort featured 12 initiatives across five focused areas – EdTech and Digital Learning, Gender Equality/Inclusive Education, Climate Change and Environment, Teacher and School Development, and Data-Driven Education and Policy.

    The grand finale featured pitches from the 12 innovators to a distinguished panel of judges.

    Teach For Nigeria (TFN) has  inducted the ninth and fifth cohorts of fellows  and school leaders, respectively, into its fellowship programme.

    The 2025 cohort, trained under the theme “One Classroom, Infinite Possibilities. The Future Is Now” has been equipped with essential pedagogical and leadership skills needed to transform communities, classrooms and empower students in underserved schools across Lagos and Ogun States.

    Teach For Nigeria is a nationwide movement dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for all.

    This year,  with over 40,000 expressions of interest; however, only 502 Fellows and 93 school leaders were inducted to join the 2025 cohort.

      Chief Executive Officer of Teach For Nigeria, Mrs Molade Adeniyi urged the fellows and school leaders to see themselves as nation-builders. She reminded them that every classroom holds the potential to shape doctors, engineers, artists, and leaders, that every child can learn and thrive, and that the future cannot wait.

    “You are no longer just individuals; you are part of a movement determined to reimagine education in Nigeria,” she said.

    The keynote address was delivered by Mrs. Rhoda Odigboh, Chief Executive Officer of Kizazi, who emphasised the transformative role of TFN and urged the new fellows  to harness this journey in driving sustainable change in Nigeria’s education system.

     Ogun State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, commended TFN for its excellent work assuring a continued support from the state government.

    Teach For Nigeria upskills 398 to impact education

    Teach For Nigeria (TFN) has  graduated   its seventh cohort of transformative leaders. These include 311 dedicated fellows and fourth cohort of 87 school leaders at a ceremony at Greensprings School, Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos.

    This is a leap in the national movement to end educational inequity. With their entry into TFN Alumni community, the 398 leaders reaffirmed their commitment to building a Nigeria where every child accesses quality education and the opportunity to thrive.

    In the last two years, this graduating class has made prigress in transforming learning experiences for thousands of children in 203 public schools in Ogun. But their impact extends beyond the classrooms.

     Collectively, they designed and implemented 133 “Be The Change Projects”, addressing critical community issues, including educational injustice,  environmental degradation, youth unemployment, peace building, and sustainability.

    Chief Executive Officer, Molade Adeniyi, urged the graduates to continue their journey beyond the classroom, shaping policies, leading businesses, and serving people with same commitment to equity they exhibited in the fellowship.

    Registrar of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Dr Ronke Soyombo, highlighted TRCN’s vision for future of teaching in Nigeria, one with reform and bold initiatives.

    She urged the fellows to carry with them the four Cs: critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration into the next chapter. She told them not to stand aside, but to be connected, involved, and become part of the movement transforming teaching.

    Since its inception in 2017, TFN has deployed 2,463 fellows to classrooms in Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, and Oyo states and trained 20,000 teachers in 29  states, positively impacting thousands of children and communities.

    Teach For Nigeria gets new chief

    Teach For Nigeria (TFN) has announced appointment of Molade Adeniyi as chief executive officer.

    Molade succeeds Ayodele Olajiga, who provided interim leadership from June 2024.

    Molade is a visionary leader with a passion for empowering children and youth. Before joining Teach for Nigeria, she was chief executive officer of West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE), focusing on equipping young people with skills and opportunities..

    She  holds a Senior Management Programme certificate from Lagos Business School and a postgraduate diploma in Strategic Management & Marketing from King’s College, University of London.

    Her experience spans business development, operational and strategic management, fundraising, and financial sustainability.

    Recognised for her commitment to leadership, Molade is a 2021 Perennial Leadership Fellow and a 2021 West Africa Acumen Fellow. She is a member of Women in Management, Business, and Public Sector (WIMBIZ).

    “I am honoured to join Teach for Nigeria and contribute to its mission of ensuring every child access quality education …” she said.

    Chair of Teach For Nigeria Board, Kunle Elebute, said her leadership experience and dedication to educational equity make her ideal for the role.

    Since 2017, Teach For Nigeria has impacted 164,000 children by placing 2,463 fellows in over 500 low-income schools in Lagos, Kaduna, Ogun, and Oyo states.
