Team Imo contingent made up of 200 athletes and 61 officials yesterday left for Asaba, Delta StateĀ for the National Youth Games.
Team Imo left Owerri’s Dan Anyiam Stadium with high hope to take part in 18 events including Chess, Scrabble, Ayo, Darts, Squash, Table Tennis, Para Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Boxing, Badminton, Wrestling, Judo, Basketball, Handball, Rugby and Hockey.

The Eastern Heartland was at the edition held in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Director of Sports, Imo Sports Commission, Sir Ferdinand Emeana said Team Imo is in Asaba to give a good representation of the zone.
He said they have left for Asaba with young athletes they are proud of would represent Imo very well.
“The team left for Asaba, Delta State today (yesterday) and it was done with high hope. We want to do well there,” Emeana told our correspondent.
