Team Ogun State yesterday clinched the Men’s Football gold medal of the 22nd National Sports Festival following an impressive 4-1 thrashing of their Kwara State’s counterparts in front of a delirious home fans at the MKO Sports Arena in Kuto, Abeokuta.
Buoyed by the support from the home fans, Team Ogun races to a 3-1 lead at half time and added a fourth goal towards the end of the exciting gold medal match.

Victory secured the host with the gold medal while Kwara State took home the silver medal.
Meanwhile, Team IJA (National U17 Boys) clinched the football bronze medals of the Gateway Games Ogun 2024.
They defeated Team Kaduna 2-0 in the third-place match played at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo on Tuesday.
Goal-poacher Abdulmuiz Adeleke scored the first goal and then put immense pressure on his marker to score an own goal and seal Team IJA’s triumph.
In the female event, Team Ogun defeated Team Osun by the same margin to clinch the bronze medals.
