    Teebillz apologises to family amid grief over mother’s death

    Music executive Tunji Balogun popularly known as Teebillz has apologised to his children, their mothers and family members for past emotional harm, describing the June 2024 death of his mother as a catalyst for personal reckoning.

    In an Instagram post on Friday, he wrote: “After all the pain and loss, losing my mother broke me, but it also woke something in me…..! To my kids, their mothers, my family, and my loved ones….. I’m sorry for the hurt I caused. I’m trying… and trusting God to fix what I can’t.”

    Teebillz, who manages several Afrobeats artists and co-parents with children with Tiwa Savage and other partners, has navigated public scrutiny over personal matters, including a 2016 marital crisis and subsequent divorce from Savage.

    Media personality Teebillz has publicly apologised to Toke Makinwa for his previous statements regarding her comments on 2Baba and Annie Idibia’s divorce announcement.

    The apology came during a live Instagram session with Daddy Freeze.

    Teebillz explained that he was triggered by Toke’s criticism of 2Baba, stating that family feuds are best left unresolved and that separation can sometimes be the best solution for healing and reworking marriages.

    He also shared his personal experience with divorce from Tiwa Savage, emphasising the importance of giving credit to women and acknowledging the challenges of navigating the entertainment industry.

    He said: “I would like to publicly apologise to Toke. I think my message was misconstrued because, at the end of the day, we are all family. You see, this feminist thing is getting out of hand.

    “My question is, where was she all this while in Annie’s life? You see these reality shows [Young Famous and African], they just want to prey on people’s flaws to make content. Nobody holy pass. When I saw this thing, all I did was pray for this couple because, at the end of the day, who’s going to help who?

    “This separation is a blessing for Annie and 2Baba to fix themselves. Who knows whether they are coming back together tomorrow? Who are we to choose sides?”

    Teebillz went on to express his views on how people judge others based on personal struggles, adding: “You can’t judge anyhow how they express themselves with something they’ve bottled for years. You can’t come out to say ‘I am ashamed for you.’ When it comes to family feuds, no one wins because I went through the same thing. I gave everything to Tiwa Savage, but the problem we had was the entertainment world.

    “You have to give credit to the women. Every time wey I dey fight for Tiwa, people think I am mad; that’s the mother of my child. When I see my child doing well, I am happy and that’s because of Tiwa.”

    Teebillz, popular talent manager and ex-husband of singer Tiwa Savage, is grieving the loss of beloved mother. 

    He shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of his mother, expressing how her passing has left him feeling lost and uncertain about the future.

    In his emotional post, Teebillz wrote: “Your love was my anchor, my safe haven, my guiding light. Without you, everything feels dark and uncertain. But even in death, your love remains my beacon of hope, my reminder that I am strong and capable.”

    He also mentioned that he is her only biological child, highlighting the significance of their bond and the depth of his loss. 

    Teebillz concluded his post by praying for healing energy to cope with the pain of his mother’s passing.

    “Just when you think you’ve got your life together, life comes along and hits you with a brick……. God I’m her only biological child!……. I pray for healing energy,” he added.

    Popular talent manager, Tunji Balogun aka Teebillz, has taken to his Instagram page to eulogise his ex-wife and celebrity singer, Tiwa Savage over her unmatched parenting skills.

    The former couple who have a son together, Jamil, got divorced five years after marriage.

    However, it seems like the Afrobeats queen has made substantial efforts to preserve his place in his son’s life, even going as far as being a provider and he is very grateful to her.

    Famous Music executive, Tunji Balogun aka TeeBillz has apologised for his earlier support for Zinoleesky, stating he was insensitive.  

    Taking to Instagram, he expressed how sorry he was for his wrong timing post as he didn’t mean to undermine anyone’s feelings or opinion.

    According to him, he would rather be of help than judge him based on association alongside being a product of his environment.

    He added that mental health played a major role in Mohbad’s last days whether one agrees with him or not and Zinoleesky is facing the same.

    Tee Billz also sent love to embattled singer, Solid Star, who is allegedly battling mental illness.

    “I’m sincerely sorry for the insensitivity of my earlier post!     Nigerians on Twitter have expressed divergent reactions to Tiwa Savage’s feature in the video for Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid’s Fever’.

    Our reporter gathered that Wizkid released the much anticipated visuals for the hit track, to rave reviews, on Wednesday and it has gathered over 70, 000 views.

    However, Tiwa Savage’s feature has caused frenzy on Twitter, with Nigerians expressing their opinions on the implications of the intimate scenes both singers displayed in the video.

    Our reporter reports that the song ‘Fever’, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, her estranged husband Tunji Balogun aka Teebillz and Mavin record label boss Don Jazzy are the top five trending topics on Nigerians Twitter.

    Seeing that Wizkid and Tiwa Savage have been battling long-running relationship rumours which they have both denied, Nigerians on Twitter are debating the current status of their relationship.

    @Emmanuel tweeted, “Is Wizkid dating Tiwa? This new video has a lot to say.”

    @Newscantell said, “Can’t tell if Wizkid and Tiwa are dating or not but let’s be honest, this ‘fever’ video is a perfect PR.

    “Will Wizkid and Tiwa put up a romance if not to get us all talking? It’s a win on both sides. Tiwa made a nice camera appearance and the video is thrilling.”

    @MrOludee wrote, “Is Wizkid really dating Tiwa or this is just superstory?”

    @Quintope tweeted, “Whether they are dating or not. Wizkid used Tiwa in that video for a reason and it is working.”

    @Missyayom said, “There is nothing that will make me believe Wizkid and Tiwa are dating. These two are just acting. They are giving us what we want.”

    However, some other Nigerians are curious about the effects of the video to Tiwa Savage’s enstranged husband, Teebillz considering that he debunked the dating rumour between Wizkid and Tiwa Savage in September.

    After a bitter separation earlier in the year, there are indications that things are returning to normal between Tunji Balogun aka Teebillz and his family.

    On Sunday, Teebillz posted a picture on his Instagram page of him and Jamal, the son he and Tiwa Savage had together, sharing quality time in a pool.

    “A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body,” Teebillz wrote.

    Also, on Saturday, his first post since six months ago after the messy separation, Teebillz had posted inspirational quotes on his Instagram page. “”We must become the CHANGE we seek in others” – Mahatma Ghandi.

    “When you find your purpose and define your values in life, everything else is irrelevant” #DavidBillz @lanreolusola thanks for all the wisdom nuggets #BestLifeCoach”

    Many of his followers have wished him well while praying for his reunion with his wife.

    One of those who commented, abbeyluv91, wrote: “God bless you handsome Tunji…God jam jam…God bless TIWA…God keep blessing your home….I’m happy for you boss..you will never experience sadness again in life..!!! * insha allahu*

    Recently, a report indicated that Tiwa is also considering reuniting with her husband.

    “You can take my word for it that a reconciliation is in the offing between Tiwa and Teebillz,” an anonymous source was reportedly quoted.

    “She has told people close to her that she misses Tunji, and she wants him back in her life. Also, as their son, Jamal (Jam Jam) is growing older, Tiwa wants to ensure that he has a father figure around.”

    Also, while performing at the Three Thrones Concert at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, penultimate Sunday, Tiwa had paused to ask marital advice from singing couple, Tunde and Wunmi Obe (TWO).

    “You’ve been married for so long, and you’re also in the limelight; how have you managed to keep your relationship intact for all these years?” she asked.

    “There’s a lot of pressure on young couples and I’m very jealous of you.”

    STAR singer, songwriter, performer and actress; Tiwa Savage credits her estranged husband, Tunji Balogun, aka Tee Billz with moulding her to the successful brand she is today. Speaking in an interview the Kelekele Love crooner stated that making Tunji her manager is the singular reason for her success. She credits him with building her into the brand she has become today.

    She said, “When Teebillz became my manager, he moulded me into the Tiwa Savage brand we know today.”

    Reminiscing on her career before meeting her hubby, she recalled that she realised that there were things she needed to do to take her career to the next level, but could not quite put her finger on it. When she met Tunji however, he advised to makeover her looks as she had the talent and a good voice, but needed to work on her looks.

    She recalls, “I needed to do something and I met my manager who is now my husband. He saw me and was like ‘you could be really pretty if you put an effort into it’ and I was like ‘wait what do you mean’ and he was like ‘you need to lose a little weight, wax your legs; that might be attractive.”

    She continues that he advised her to explore one of two options, to create the persona of a sexy siren, or a tomboy. She continues, “So if you want to do the tom-boy thing, you have to take it to the extreme, if you want to be hot and sexy you have to take it to the extreme. So I started learning how to wear heels, and he basically just groomed me into the image of Tiwa Savage that we see now.”

    Following the release of Teebillz’s drug test which revealed that the husband of pop star Tiwa Savage tested negative to cocaine, cannabis, ecstasy, oxycodone and other forms of hard drugs, the matter of his drug use seem to have been put to rest.

    Following an initial rant on Instagram penultimate Thursday where Teebillz accused his wife of infidelity, his mother-in-law of witchcraft and his father for steering his life in a crazy direction, Tiwa Savage had granted an interview where she also accused her husband of carousing, not caring about her, racking up debts on her bill as well as using cocaine.

    In the aftermath of the allegation of drug use levelled against Teebillz by his wife, some people wondered why the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, did not wade in.

    But over the weekend, NDLEA’s head of Public Affairs, Mitchell Ofoyeju, said that the agency is aware of the story but its main focus is targeted at dealers rather than users.

    “We have heard of it but we don’t want to be dragged into their family affairs,” said Ofoyeju. “Besides, the NDLEA as a reputable institution don’t chase after people that are using drugs. When we go out on operations, when we get back to the office, we determine those who are the dealers for prosecution. Then, those who are found to be users, we recommend them for counselling. But counselling is a voluntary act.”

    However, Ofoyeju said the NDLEA “has a responsibility to investigate. We’d do that but largely, we see it as a family affair that should be treated as such.”

    When Tiwa alleged Teebillz’s cocaine use, some watchers had said cocaine was fairly common among some elites.

    Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti had come on his Facebook page to say, ‘Dem say someone is taking cocaine and u are all acting like we don’t know there is a cocaine and crack epidemic in Lagos, especially on the island? Continue deceiving yourselves.’

    Artistes react to Tiwa, Teebillz marital issues

    The dust is yet to settle over the Tiwa Savage/Teebillz saga as celebrities have continued to weigh in on the matter. While the public seem to be divided along even lines, a couple of artistes have called on both parties to tread with caution.

    Veteran singer, Charlie Boy, aka Area Fada, decried a situation where celebriaties wash their dirty linens in public stating that it is sad, especially if they are amongst stars that he admires and love.

    “TeeBillz and Tiwa Savage una fall my hand no be small. Una no know say MUTUAL RESPECT IS NON-NEGOTIABLE for marriage? Why yeye una self for public like this.

    Una no know say competition na for business no be for marriage,” he admonished.

    In his words, artistes are more fragile than normal people; however they must understand that they are role models to millions of people.

    “No marriage can escape bad weather even my own, I dey sometimes see Oba for the matter but like I say, “marriage is not about being compatible but how couples deal with their incompatibility. Make I no hear una problems for loudspeakers again, joor.

    One of those who was at the receiving end of Teebillz’ rant was Tuface Idibia, but it appears he is more bothered by the wellbeing of both parties. The entertainer took a swipe at those who have been making disheartening comments about Tiwa and Teebillz’ marital issues. “I’m so disgusted at some people that have been making distasteful jokes out of people’s real life heartbreaking predicament. GOD forgive u,” he tweeted.

    Cool FM presenter, Freeze, who had earlier blamed Tiwa Savage for escalating the issue, made a u-turn after having a lengthy chat with the songstress. Describing his earlier post as ‘being bit insensitive’, the OAP said that it’s too late for regrets now. According to him, we all have to stop blaming either party and focus on praying for both of them.

    “Teebillz and Tiwa are both at a fragile state, and it is so unfortunate that this matter has been brought before a fanged public ready to tear us all up for their amusement. Like @official2baba said, don’t make jokes about a serious matter, instead, remember them in your prayers. I love you Tiwa, I love you Billz, there is a light at the end of this tunnel, GOD is your strength and he will see you through this,” his latter post read.

    In a simple tweet, and perhaps speaking from his own recent experience, Paul Okoye of Psquare fame advised the couple; “Don’t ever go to the public to solve a private matter… It will only get worse!!! You are only entertaining people. And they are having fun.”

    Meanwhile, statistics show that Tiwa Savage broke Youtube records with her all-revealing interview, emerging one of the fastest to reach 300,000 views in 24 hours.
