    Tenger wants his salaries paid

Former Lobi Stars head coach, Justin Tenger has pleaded with the side financiers, Benue State government to quickly pay him his outstanding two-month salaries.

“I don’t want them to shower me with praises when I’m dead as they are doing to the likes of Shuaibu Amodu and Stephen Keshi.  I want the government to pay me my two months salaries.

“Of course, you know the dead don’t talk so now that I’m alive my salaries for the months of December 2015 – January 2016 are yet to be paid. Nobody would deny the fact that I was not Lobi Stars head coach during the period.

“The inauguration of my successors was done on Monday, January 18 and going by the civil service rules I’m ably qualified to collect salary for the month of January.

“I’m compelled to complain openly after keeping calm and quiet all these months without fruitful response from the government. I equated my dismissal from Lobi Stars as coup d’état as we have it in the military.

“I’m no more bordered with the manner I was pushed away after years of meritorious services to the club as player and coach. The government should avoid further disgrace to owe me the stipend till death at least the salaries will be quite useful to me now than when I’m no more,” said the former Niger Tornadoes coach to supersport.com.

“I’m retired but not tired at least I can comfortably sit on the bench for one season. I’m at home and available for any team that will require my coaching services,” said Tenger.

Tenger, however, said his coaching career will not extend beyond the 2015/16 league season.

“I have just one more season to go before I finally retire from the coaching profession.

“I will certainly quit the scene after the 2015/16 league season so I’m available for any club interested in my service but strictly for one season,” said the former Gombe United coach to supersport.com.

Tenger however said the former side did not treated him well as he was not carried along with the processes that produced his replacement, Godwin Uwua.

“Truly speaking I’m not happy at the manner I was completely kept in the dark with the processes that produced my replacement.

“I feel maltreated and rightly thought that respect should have been given to me based on age, experience and contributions to the team.

“I’m an ambassador of the state and deserve better treatment than I got presently more so when I’m highly revered outside the state,” said Tenger who has previously handled Kwara United and Wikki Tourists.

The government of Benue state recently appointed former Sunshine Stars boss, Mike Idoko as the club vice chairman while coach Godwin Uwua filled the technical adviser spot for the coming season.

    Tenger quits Akwa Utd

Akwa United head coach,Justin Tenger on Saturday tendered his resignation letter to the management of the side ending his one-season stint at the Uyo-based side.

The former Niger Tornadoes gaffer fought hard to secure the side top flight league football in the 2012/13 Glo Premier League ending the season campaign on the 16th position on 51 points.

The formal resignation has laid to rest days of denial and counter-denial between the management and coach whether or not the coach had been sacked.

“I’ve completely disengaged myself today (Saturday) from Akwa United, the season is over for both parties and it’s done peacefully.

“I signed one season contract with the side which officially ended with our last season game at Kwara United in Lokoja though with a clause for renewal or termination and I opted to quit.

“The reason to quit is personal as I just wanted to stay away from the side right now, I don’t want to continue with them anymore.

“I felt satisfied with my stay with the side. We had a tough time struggling to stay alive most parts of the season but at the end of the day the story turned out successful, so I’m leaving the side on a high,” said the former Kwara United coach to supersport.com.

Tenger said he is positive of securing another job with another club before the start of the new season to finally disengage from active coaching.

Tenger blasts Akwa management •Says he won’t return until sack story is debunked

Akwa United head coach, Justin Tenger has vowed ` not to return to the side except the management recant the purported sack report in one of the Nigerian tabloids.

An unquoted source in the sports tabloid on Friday said the Akwa United management has sacked Tenger and the entire players.

However, Akwa United chairman, Isong Isang has come out to deny the reported sack of the coach and the players insisting that no such decisions were taken by the Uyo-based side.

Tenger said the publication is damaging to his reputation and insisted he will only return to the side’s coaching job except the management recant the report or cause a rejoinder in like manner to be published in same medium.

“I spoke with the chairman, Isong Isang over my purported sack and the players as boldly reported by the said sports daily and he stoutly denied knowledge of any decision of the management to sack me and the players.

“Isang pleaded with me to come back to the side on Monday as earlier agreed before I departed to my home town for the burial arrangement of my late elder brother but I told him promptly that I felt embarrassed and blackmailed by the report.

“I told him that I don’t want their job any longer rather they should work out my entitlement and remit same to me in strict accordance with the contract terms.

“I said I’ve declared myself vacant and will be available to any side that need my service as I’m not keen to struggle the position with anyone.

“Isang insisted I should disregard the publication as 100% false and come back to Uyo to commence preparations for the new season but I told him the only condition that will make me return is if the management went ahead to officially clarify the report, refute and give a rejoinder else I’m out of the job completely.

“I’m not begging for the job, I’ve done my own part keeping the side in the Premier League and if for any reason my service is no more needed we shouldn’t go to the media to embarrass ourselves,” the former Niger Tornadoes coach said to supersport.com.

Tenger guided Akwa United to berth safely and avoid relegation in the out gone 2012/13 Glo Premier League season as they finished on the 16th spot on 51 points.
