Sabu recently retired from wrestling with his final match taking place just three weeks prior, where he defeated Joey Janela in the main event of Joey Janela’s Spring Break.
Sabu was renowned for his fearless and high-risk performances in the ring, often incorporating extreme elements into his matches.

He was a pioneer of hardcore wrestling and competed in various prominent organisations, including ECW, WCW, and WWE.
One of his notable appearances was at WrestleMania 23, where he was part of the ECW Originals tag team that defeated The New Breed.

AEW acknowledged his familiarity with “barbed wire battles,” highlighting his reputation for taking risks in the ring.
