The Adorable Foundation International (AFI), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has provided free medical services for widows.
It also gave household items to the widows and less privileged residents of Ejigbo in Lagos State, as part of its annual outreach programme.
The event, which took place at the home of the community leader, Oha Zuru mee of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Eze Nicholas Njoku, included eye check-ups, other medical consultations, distribution of food items, household appliances and fabrics.

Dr. Ada Okeke Amam, founder of AFI, said the initiative was aimed at supporting widows and those facing economic hardship.
“Annually, we reach out to the widows and the less privileged, focusing on their health first and then providing essential items to make life easier for them,” she said.
The foundation, which is known for its humanitarian work across communities, also focuses on raising awareness about the challenges facing widows, particularly during the holiday season.
Princess Amam said the theme of this year’s outreach is: “Fight the Good Fight of Faith,” adding that faith was essential in overcoming life’s difficulties.
She urged the government and non-governmental organisations to increase their support for widows and vulnerable individuals, particularly those with children.
