    Italian luxury brand Angelo Galasso unveils exclusive collection at The Delborough Lagos

    For the first time in Africa, renowned Italian luxury fashion house Angelo Galasso, a label admired by global elites, is set to present its latest exclusive collection in Nigeria.

    In a statement, the brand announced that the unveiling will take place at the prestigious luxury hotel The Delborough Lagos, located in Victoria Island, Lagos.

    Angelo Galasso is widely recognised for its refined approach to high-end menswear. Each collection reflects the brand’s ethos of “Evolving Tradition”, a philosophy woven into every design.

    Private meetings will be available at the hotel from October 2- 6, 2025.

    The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the sophisticated The Delborough Lagos in Nigeria, Dr Stanley Uzochukwu, has congratulated Ghana President-elect, Dr John Dramani Mahama, on his victory in the just concluded presidential election.

    Ghana held its general elections on Saturday December 7, 2024 to elect the President and all 276 members of Parliament. 

    Dr Stanley’s congratulatory message was contained in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos, Nigeria.

    The Stanel Group boss expressed joy over the peaceful conduct of the Ghana general elections that gave his mentor a historic victory. 

    The statement reads in part, “I am pleased to congratulate my father and mentor, Dr Mahama on  his re-election as Ghana President for the second time.

    The legal icon stated this in an interview with newsmen in Lagos at the weekend after second governing board meeting of The Delborough Lagos.

    He reiterated that The Delborough brand is not just a hotel but a therapeutic centre where people can go and suddenly feel well by the ambience and special care that the well trained staff offer.

    He said: “We have successfully redefined the hospitality industry.     Marking its first one year after inauguration, the Governing board members of the prestigious ‘The Delborough Lagos‘ have attributed the landmark successes recorded by the brand since inception to the quality of the selected governing board members.

    The highly profiled members who disclosed this in separate interviews with newsmen during its second board meeting in Lagos at the weekend noted that ‘The Delborough Lagos’ was not a one man business hence the assurance on sustaining the high standard they gave during the commissioning ceremony on Saturday 2nd December 2023 and stressed that the hotel will continue to answer to its slogan, ‘Ultimate Sophistication’ in service delivery and redefining hospitality in Africa.

    The highly placed and revered monarchs, legal authority, professionals and business leaders that constitute the Governing Board are headed by a first class Royal Majesty, the Obi of Onitsha (Agbogidi), Nnaemeka Alfred Uzochukwu Achebe CFIR, mni.

    Addressing reporters, the Board chairman said:”The meeting was aimed at reviewing the business operations of the hotel and also to set targets for future operations. Our plan is to be the first choice of hospitality in Nigeria, Africa and the whole world at large.

    Dr Stanley Uzochukwu, the Managing Director of The Delborough Lagos speaking on plan to duplicate the brand elsewhere, informed the management had received many requests from different African presidents asking for the replication of the luxury brand in their respective countries and said that the board is considering the requests.

    He further revealed that the only one focus they have was to export hospitality to the world while confirming that the goal would be vigorously pursued to the latter.

    The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex were in Nigeria at the weekend on a three-day private visit on the invitation of the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa.

    Cubana Group chairman, Obinna Tochuukwu Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has commended  Chairman/CEO of ‘The Delborough Lagos’, Dr Stanley Uzochukwu for making Nigeria and Africa proud. 

    He hailed him for establishing the prestigious hotel where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle deemed it fit to stay during their visit to Lagos, Nigeria recently. 

    The Nigerian businessman described the Delborough CEO as his “brother with the Midas touch” in a post on his Instagram page on Monday.

    Obi Cubana also noted that the hotel, ‘The Delborough Lagos’ is the “Number 1 luxury hotel in Africa presently.”

    Wrapping up a three-day private visit to Nigeria on Sunday, ‘The Delborough Lagos’ CEO, Dr. Uzochukwu Stanley and others, according to CNN, “great and good Nigerians” warmly welcomed and received Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

    One of the most interesting highlights of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first visit to Nigeria in Africa was the recognition and crowning of Meghan as African Princess.

    Dr. Stanley was playing host at the prestigious Delborough Hotel in Lagos – ‘where the great and good of Nigerian society had gathered to welcome the couple’ – where Meghan was honoured with royal titles by powerful traditional rulers from Eastern and Western Nigeria.

    The Obi of Onitsha, His Majesty Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe conferred on the Duchess chieftaincy title, “Ada Mazi,” which means “the daughter of the Igbo ancestral palace.”

    The Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun State, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi bestowed on her the Yoruba name of “Adetokunbo” which means “royalty from across the seas.”

    Harry and Meghan were ushered into the Delborough with exciting cultural dance displays by different dancing troops to the admiration of the Duke and Duchess.

    Responding, the Princess described Nigeria as “my country,” noting that “being African American, part of it is not knowing so much about your lineage or background, where you come from specifically. And it was exciting … to discover more and understand what that really means.

    “Thank you for welcoming me home.”

    The couple was invited to the West African nation by the Chief of Defense Staff, Christopher Musa.

    Treated to a lunch by eminent Nigerians at ‘The Delborough Lagos’ Sunday afternoon, the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry expressed satisfaction noting that “hospitality at ‘The Delborough Lagos’ is second to none.”

    While complimenting the Duke, the Duchess, Meghan also acknowledged that “attention to details at ‘The Delborough Lagos’ is empirical”.

    The couple who expressed enthusiasm for their visit, said they could not wait to experience Nigeria’s culture.

    Harry said: “We are delighted to explore the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria.”

    Meghan, on her part, added: “It is a privilege to engage with the vibrant Nigerian community.”

    They were received to an energetic cultural display at the hotel to their admiration.

    Harry and Meghan, on Saturday, met with Nigerian businessman and owner of ‘The Delborough Lagos’, Dr Uzochukwu Stanley in Abuja.

    The couple is in Nigeria on a three-day visit to promote Invictus Games, where Prince Harry played a seated volleyball match with Nigerian Army veterans, mostly wounded in battle against the country’s Islamist insurgency, on Saturday.

    At an Officer’s Mess complex in Abuja, Harry’s team dressed in yellow played off in an exhibition against a team led by Nigeria’s chief of defence staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.

    The Duke and the Duchess, visiting the West African nation, Nigeria, for the first time on the invitation of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, began their three-day visit by going to the Lightway Academy, which receives support from their Archewell Foundation to train young girls affected by conflicts in Nigeria, before going on to meet with the nation’s military officers.

    At the Abuja school where they kicked off an inaugural mental health summit organised by a local non-profit GEANCO, which partners with their Foundation, the couple was received by a dancing troupe and a crowd of excited students and teachers.

    “We’ve got to acknowledge those amazing dance moves!” Meghan said. “My husband was excited to jump up!”

    They then went into the classrooms to interact with the students, who showed robot cars they had built.

    They spoke to the students about mental health, and about their own children, Archie and Lilibet.

    “In some cases around the world … there is a stigma when it comes to mental health. Too many people don’t want to talk about it,” Harry said. “So will you promise to us that after today, no more being scared, no more being unsure of mental health?”

    The Prime Minister who stayed and was hosted in ‘The Delborough Lagos’ during his visit to Nigeria by the Chairman/CEO of AirPeace Airline, Chief Alex Onyema gave the open invitation to the investor during a Business Forum meeting with Nigerian business community.

    Browne, accompanied by his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Maria Vanessa Bird-Browne, commended the investor, Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu for bringing the vision for such a world class hotel to reality in Nigeria and requested a replica of the edifice in his country, Antigua and Barbuda.

    He used the occasion to woo other Nigerian business leaders and investors to come and invest in his country for mutual development gains.

    The convener of the business forum, Chief Onyema, in a statement shared on his Instagram page said the meeting was a strategic avenue for the two countries, Nigerian and Antiguan governments to discuss business opportunities.

    He said, “Yesterday, we had a business forum with the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, who wooed Nigeria’s business community to come and invest in his country.

    “It was a strategic avenue for both Nigerian and Antiguan governments to also discuss opportunities for mutual development gains.”

    Two African leaders, at the weekend, had lunch at the famous and luxury ‘The Delborough Lagos’. 

    Ex-Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama was spotted debating over Ghanaian and Nigerian jollof rice with former Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hon. Osita Chidoka.

    The former Presidents, Mahama and his Botswana counterpart, Ian Khama who were in the Hotel on their visit to Nigeria made the moment thrilling for their audience.

    In a viral video obtained by newsmen, Hon Chidoka tried to help His Excellency Mahama noting, “He is saying that because of his Nigerian link as former President of Ghana and about to become President again, he will settle the war between Nigerian jollof rice and Ghanaian jollof rice once and for all.

    Responding, Bahama said: “We will bring the best of Nigerian jollof makers and Ghanaian jollof makers and then bring President Tinubu and myself to The Delborough. We will taste it and we will agree, finally.”

    Mahama who was the President of the Republic of Ghana (2012 to 2017) is presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ghana in December presidential polls.

    Khama commended the young Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, owner of the Hotel, “for doing something spectacular in Nigeria and on African soil.

    Among the highlights of the moment was a live performance by a young Nigerian sensational Gospel singer, Moses Bliss, who further ignited the happy mood of the guests.
