The Elevation Church celebrates fathers in Lagos with gifts, encouragement

As the world marked Father’s Day, The Elevation Church (TEC), Maryland, brought the celebration to Lagos’ bustling tech hub, Computer Village, Ikeja, through a heartfelt outreach tagged ‘Father’s Day-On-The-Go.’

Led by Resident Pastor Bola Adisa, the church team braved the rain to honour over 120 hardworking men. Under canopies and dripping rooftops, TEC volunteers, dressed in church colours, distributed refreshments, gifts, and specially designed appreciation cards.

“This isn’t just about gifts,” Pastor Adisa said. “It’s about recognition. Men bear immense pressure from their families and society. Today, we’re simply saying: ‘We see you. We thank you. Great job, man.’”

Computer Village was deliberately chosen for its vibrant, male-dominated entrepreneurial ecosystem. The outreach featured not just giveaways, but also moments of prayer, inspiration, and reflection, touching many who paused from business to take it all in.

“Fatherhood is not only biological,” Adisa added. “Any man guiding or influencing others is fathering in his own way.”

Soji Benn, a representative of TEC’s *Men of Honour* ministry, said the initiative aligns with their mission to build responsible and impactful men through mentorship, retreats, empowerment sessions, and prayer fellowships.

“We want to remind men that even though life makes big demands of them, they still have so much to offer. Greatness lies within them,” he said.

Youth Chairman of Computer Village, James Mathew, expressed gratitude for the church’s visit, calling it his first-ever Father’s Day gift.

He urged fathers to remain steadfast and raise children who are God-fearing, empathetic, and responsible.

TEC Maryland’s outreach underscored one clear message: fathers matter—and they are seen, supported, and celebrated.
