Women tech enthusiasts get a lift

The QA School, a leading tech academy in Nigeria, is set to award full scholarships to five female tech enthusiasts on Friday, March 28, in commemoration of this year’s  International Women’s Day (IWD).

Chief Operations Officer of The QA School, Adeola Awodire, who disclosed this in a statement, said the gesture is aimed at equipping women with tech skills to narrow the gender gap in the burgeoning tech industry.

According to her, tech skills seem out of reach to women, and this may be due to financial difficulty.

She said the initiative is aimed at encouraging them to switch to tech, adding that “tech is neither boring nor complex.”
