It was a joyful and emotion celebration as Pastor in Charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Grace Sanctuary, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos State, Pastor Dapo Awosika marks his 60th birthday at RCCG, Israel Assembly, Alausa, Lagos.

The venue was filled to the brim, with heartfelt tributes, testimonies, and expressions of gratitude to God for Pastor Awosika’s impactful life and ministry.

Clergymen, church members, family, and friends took turns to celebrate the man of God, reflecting on his unwavering commitment to faith, leadership, and service.

Apostle Lawrence Achudume described Pastor Awosika as a joyful and compassionate man, known for his ability to uplift others.

“We have been friends for about 30 years. There is no dull moment around him. Whenever I feel down, I just call him, and joy returns. He helps people fight depression—no grudge, no bitterness, no hatred. If we can learn from his life and cultivate genuine love and forgiveness in our churches, we will penetrate the world for Christ.”

In his words,  the Pastor in Charge of Region 54, RCCG, Pastor Yemi Lebi extolled the virtues of Awosika, describing him as a man of integrity, trust, and sincerity.

He said: “Pastor Awosika is in a class of his own for so many reasons. He is very friendly, reliable, and honest. If he tells you something, he means it. He does not have two faces. He is bold and speaks his mind. He is a man you can trust. I have worked with him, and I can say he is truly committed to God’s work.”

He further encouraged young ministers to learn from Pastor Awosika’s life and ministry, emphasizing that apart from preaching, building relationships and showing Christlike love are crucial in ministry.

“Congregants don’t just want to hear scriptures; they want to see Jesus in your life. Pastor Awosika is a man who shows Jesus practically—he is there when things are good, and he is there when times are tough. That’s what makes a true minister of God.”

In his remarks,  Awosika expressed deep appreciation to God, his family, and the church community, acknowledging the grace that has sustained him through life’s journey. He particularly praised his wife, thanking her for being his pillar of support over the years.

He also reflected on the importance of obedience and humility in marriage, revealing how his wife’s wisdom has shaped many of his decisions.

He narrated an instance when he refused to officiate a wedding because the couple arrived late, only for his wife to intervene and persuade him to conduct the ceremony.

“She came to me and simply said, ‘Stand up, let’s go.’ I had no choice but to obey. That’s why I tell people, that when your home is in order, you are 90% in heaven. If you can’t manage the person by your side, how will you manage others?”

Awosika reflected on his 60-year journey, emphasizing his desire to continue serving God and making an impact in His kingdom.

“I am grateful for the past 60 years, but my journey is not over. My desire is to continue serving God and making an impact in His kingdom. I pray that all of us will remain faithful to our calling.”

Speaking on his retirement, he acknowledged the challenges and blessings that come with it.

“It has not been easy, but grace has carried me through. I have always balanced my ministry and secular work effectively, and I trust God to continue leading me in this new phase of my life

As he enters this new phase of life, Pastor Awosika’s legacy of faith, love, and leadership remains an inspiration to many, a testament to the grace and mercy of God over 21,900 days of his life.

Adeboye urges Nigerians to prepare for tomorrow, tasks youth on obedience

The General Overseer, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has urged parents to raise their children in the way of the Lord, emphasizing that proper upbringing is key to securing their future.

Adeboye who ministered recently at the RCCG headquarters (Throne of Grace), Ebute Metta, Lagos on the topic: ‘Greater Tomorrow’ during the monthly thanksgiving service, said that God commanded parents to train their children in the way of the Lord, stating that their decisions today will shape their future.

He said “Parents, wake up!  Train your children in the way of the Lord.  If you allow them to do what they like, you are ruining your future.  Be firm.

“Those parents who are highly sophisticated and highly educated that would say that their children should be allowed to sow their wild oats when those children are doing wrong things are only ruining their future,” he said.

He reminded Nigerians of three phases in life which are the past, the present and the future, adding that of the three phases, the most important is ‘tomorrow’, and that the decision taken today will definitely affect tomorrow.

He further remarked that according to the scriptures, a greater tomorrow is guaranteed for the righteous, while a terrible future is the lot of the wicked.

Adeboye who clocked 83 called on the youth as a father to not only obey their parents but honour them for their days to be  long on earth and for their future to be greater than that of their parents.

Special Assistant to the General Overseer (Administration), who is also the Pastor, Region 1, Dele Balogun told the youth to honour a man of God such as Adeboye who is humble and a role model and therefore eschew a life of getting rich quickly to the detriment of their future and destiny.

Adeboye gave the nuggets for a greater tomorrow by sowing good seed, diligence, humility and submission to God.
