…warn detractors to shun protest against NDDC boss
The kinsmen of former President Goodluck Jonathan from Ogbia Kingdom in the Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state have thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the reappointment of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The highly elated people of Ogbia Kingdom gave the appreciation through the king of the kingdom, His Royal Majesty, King Charles Dumaro Waba while addressing a World Press Conference at Ayallah Hotels and Suite Conference Hall in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
Speaking at the news conference, the Obanobhan of Ogbia Kingdom, His Eminence, Charles Dumaro Owaba, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the re-appointment of Ogbuku.
He noted that the Ogbia people are loving and peaceful in the Niger Delta, even though some of their sons that occupied high offices were abruptly removed from office, which included the first civilian governor of old Rivers State, late Senator Melford Okilo and former President Goodluck Jonathan, among others.
According to him, the first oil well was struck in Oloibiri in Ogbia land, saying that despite that feat, nothing much had been done in the land.

The traditional ruler appealed to President Tinubu to give more appointments to Ogbia sons and daughters and also site more projects in Ogbia land.
The Obanobhan of Ogbia Kingdom also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to turn the Federal University, Otuoke to the University of Petroleum in the Ogbia land.
Also speaking, the national chairman of the Ogbia Brotherhood, Dr. Aziba-Aloaguo Seibofa, stated that Ogbia Kingdom would remain eternally grateful to President Bola Tinubu for the re-appointment of Chief Samuel Ogbuku as Managing Director/ CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), for him to continue his good works in the commission.
Seibofa also thanked the great people of the nine (9) NDDC states: Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, lmo, Ondo, and Rivers for the maximum support they are giving to their son, adding that the states had not only energised him to work to deliver dividends of the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President but also spurred him to do more.
He also advised various aggrieved groups to shun any form of protest against Dr. Ogbuku and rather embrace constructive dialogue.
He insisted that the Ogbia Kingdom had always supported all Niger Deltans and successive administrations in the country.
In her remarks, the leader of the Women’s Wing of the Ogbia Kingdom, Pastor (Mrs.) Aniedim Freeman, on behalf of the entire women, also commended President Tinubu for doing the needful by reappointing Dr. Ogbuku as the Managing Director of NDDC.
She prayed to God to give the President wisdom to pilot the affairs of the country to a worthwhile future.
Clan heads, prominent Chiefs, traditional rulers, youths, and women groups attended the conference.
