Tinubu Media Force set to host Nigeria’s largest grassroot media summit in Abuja

The Tinubu Media Force has announced plans to hold what it described as Nigeria’s largest grassroots media summit in Abuja, bringing together more than 1,000 grassroots communicators and community-based media practitioners from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The summit, themed “Amplifying the Renewed Hope Through Grassroots Voices: Empowering Grassroots Media for National Development,” aims to strengthen community-level communication and deepen public engagement with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement, the National Coordinator of the Tinubu Media Force, Gbenga Abiola, said grassroots media practitioners remain some of the most influential voices within local communities, playing a vital role in shaping public understanding of government policies and national direction.

According to Abiola, the summit is intended to equip community media actors with the skills needed to responsibly amplify national development initiatives, counter misinformation, and promote unity at the grassroots.

He explained that discussions at the summit will focus on key national issues such as insecurity, economic reforms, youth employment, and human capital development, noting that effective grassroots communication is essential for sustainable national progress.

Abiola added that participants will take part in strategic discussions and interactive sessions designed to enhance coordination, encourage informed public discourse, and boost citizen participation across communities nationwide.

He said the summit reflects the Tinubu Media Force’s commitment to building a strong and coordinated grassroots media network capable of sustaining meaningful national conversations that support inclusive growth and democratic stability.

The Abuja gathering is expected to serve as a major milestone in grassroots political communication, reinforcing the importance of community voices in national development and strengthening public confidence in governance.

Tinubu Media Force defends Nigeria’s sovereignty, warns against misguided foreign interference

The Tinubu Media Force, led by its National Coordinator Gbenga Abiola, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s sovereignty and stability under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging the international community, particularly the United States, to support the country’s reform efforts rather than promote misleading narratives or threats of intervention.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Abiola described Nigeria as Africa’s anchor, citing its vast population, cultural diversity, and economic influence.

He noted that under President Tinubu, the country is undergoing a national rebirth driven by resilience, strategic governance, and a renewed hope agenda.

He stressed that Nigeria’s global significance as the largest Black nation is not coincidental, adding that the country is emerging from years of weak leadership and is now positioned to fulfil its historic role on the continent.

Abiola highlighted key strides by the Tinubu administration in strengthening security, stabilizing the economy, and rebuilding global confidence.

According to official data, over the last two years, security forces have neutralised more than 6,260 terrorists, arrested over 14,000 suspects, and rescued more than 5,300 kidnapped victims.

The federal government has also raised the defence budget from ₦1.25 trillion in 2023 to ₦4.91 trillion in 2025 and tripled annual police recruitment from 10,000 to 30,000 officers.

He asserted that the government is gradually flattening the curve of insecurity through intelligence-based operations and a complete overhaul of the security architecture, resulting in visible improvements across the North West, North Central, and the Federal Capital Territory.

Responding to comments by former U.S. President Donald Trump alleging persecution of Christians in Nigeria, Abiola dismissed the claims as false and divisive.

He maintained that no credible report in the past two years has described any religious genocide in the country, insisting that recent violent incidents are isolated criminal acts, not targeted religious extermination.

He reaffirmed that the Tinubu administration treats all violence as national crime devoid of ethnic or religious bias and remains committed to justice and national unity.

Nigeria, he said, remains a multi-faith, multi-ethnic nation where citizens coexist peacefully and contribute to development, and no government policy supports sectarian persecution.

Abiola cautioned that destabilising Nigeria would have severe repercussions for Africa, stressing that the nation remains the continent’s primary pillar politically, economically, and spiritually. “If that pillar is shaken, the whole continent will feel it,” he warned, adding that Africa’s prosperity is closely tied to Nigeria’s peace and progress.

He also highlighted the economic interdependence within the subregion, noting that if the entire population of Lagos State were to move into neighboring Benin Republic, Togo, or Ghana, the combined economic systems of those countries would collapse in a matter of days. According to him, this is why Nigerians often say, “When Nigeria sneezes, Africa shakes.”

Citing the consequences of Western interventions in Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, Gbenga Abiola warned that any attempt to apply similar tactics to Nigeria would have catastrophic global consequences. He explained that the case of Nigeria, rhetorically speaking, might not do the world any good. Considering Nigeria’s dexterity, complexity, and importance across all economic sectors, war or foreign invasion would not only destabilize Africa but also hurt the global economy, including the United States itself.

He added that a large percentage of Nigerians contribute to sustaining the American medical system and play vital roles in key sectors of the U.S. economy from healthcare and education to technology and engineering. Abiola urged President Trump and the American state to redirect their energies toward strengthening partnerships with Nigeria, noting that the country has greatly contributed to the United States’ success and global reputation.

The Tinubu Media Force also called on the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union (AU) to rise in unity and defend not only Nigeria but the collective independence and integrity of African nations against invasions, misinformation, and wrong narratives. According to the statement, Africa must now speak with one voice, protect its image, and chart its destiny without external manipulation or undue interference.

Concluding the statement, Gbenga Abiola reaffirmed that Nigeria is a sovereign nation deserving of global respect and fair engagement. He maintained that a stable and prosperous Nigeria guarantees a stronger and more peaceful Africa. What Nigeria needs, he said, is collaboration, not confrontation; support, not suspicion. The world must stand with Nigeria, not against her.

In his remarks, Gbenga Abiola lauded Seyi Tinubu for his humility, intelligence, and people-oriented disposition, describing him as one of the most approachable young politicians in Nigeria today.

He emphasised that Seyi’s leadership style mirrors that of his father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has consistently demonstrated capacity, sagacity, and doggedness in governance and leadership.

“Tell me any son of a president, whether in history or at the moment, who has galvanized such an enormous grassroots base like Seyi Tinubu,” Abiola stated. “He is approachable, empathetic, humble, detailed, and always ready to deliver. His intelligence academically, politically, and socially speaks volumes of his character and upbringing.”

The Tinubu Media Force further described Seyi Tinubu as the foundation and inspiration behind the creation of the group’s nationwide media structure.

According to the executives, his belief in youth inclusion and media empowerment has opened new opportunities for young people, grassroots journalists, and community voices to thrive under the Renewed Hope administration.

“Seyi Tinubu believes so much in the ideology and leadership philosophy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Abiola added. “He remains a rallying point for millions of young Nigerians who share in the vision of a prosperous nation driven by innovation, integrity, and inclusion.”

Beyond his political and philanthropic engagements, Seyi Tinubu has earned widespread recognition as a visionary entrepreneur and youth development advocate. Through his initiatives such as Noella Foundation and his involvement in LSTV and Loatsad Promomedia, he has provided platforms for young Nigerians to express creativity, build businesses, and access mentorship opportunities that foster empowerment and self-reliance.

His commitment to social impact is evident through his consistent support for education, sports, and community-based projects across Nigeria. From school rehabilitation programs to youth mentorship drives and empowerment schemes, Seyi Tinubu has shown that leadership is not about title but about service, compassion, and creating pathways for others to succeed.

The group also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold reforms, visionary leadership, and steadfast pursuit of a prosperous Nigeria.

Tinubu Media Force hails President as FAAC distributes ₦2.225trn for August

…challenges LG to invest in entrepreneurship support, CNG Transport

The Tinubu Media Force (TMF) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the historic revenue distribution milestone achieved through the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC).

In August 2025, FAAC disbursed ₦2.225 trillion to the three tiers of government, marking the second consecutive month allocations have exceeded ₦2 trillion.

TMF described the feat as proof of the President’s economic reforms, fiscal discipline, and decisive actions to block revenue leakages.

The organisation, regarded as the largest progressive grassroots media structure with presence in all 36 states, 109 senatorial districts, and 774 local government areas, emphasised that the record allocation must be translated into real benefits for ordinary Nigerians.

The group emphasized that local governments, being the closest arm of government to the people, are uniquely positioned to channel these resources into projects that directly reduce the cost of living.

In a statement issued by its national coordinator, Abiola Oluwagbenga, TMF urged local governments to invest in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus transportation models as a sustainable solution to rising transport costs.

According to Oluwagbenga, CNG buses would provide affordable, reliable, and eco-friendly transport alternatives while aligning with the Federal Government’s energy transition agenda under the Renewed Hope vision.

On food security, TMF advised local councils to establish food hubs and storage facilities across the country’s 774 local government areas.

The group noted that such infrastructure would reduce post-harvest losses, stabilize supply chains, and keep food prices affordable for families.

“Food hubs and storage systems at the grassroots will enhance preservation, minimize waste, and guarantee fair returns for both farmers and traders,” the statement read.

The organization further called for the creation of logistics and distribution services that can supply food efficiently into local government markets.

By putting structured systems in place, TMF argued, councils would gain a measure of regulatory oversight over food supply and pricing, ensuring consistent access to safe and affordable produce in every community.

TMF also stressed the importance of entrepreneurship funding and talent discovery for young people, urging local governments to establish programs that nurture innovation and creativity at the grassroots.

By creating youth enterprise funds, training hubs, and skill incubation centers, councils can empower the next generation with opportunities for self-reliance, job creation, and sustainable livelihoods.

Concluding, TMF urged local governments to craft policies in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the record FAAC allocation presents an unprecedented opportunity.

“Investments in transport, food hubs, logistics, and youth enterprise will not only reduce costs for the average Nigerian but also lay the foundation for inclusive and sustainable development,” Oluwagbenga declared.

  • Tinubu Media Force slams Dino Melaye’s debt critique as laughable

Tinubu Media Force slams Dino Melaye’s debt critique as laughable

The Tinubu Media Force has dismissed recent remarks by Dino Melaye on Nigeria’s borrowing under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing his financial critique as unserious, laughable, and lacking credible economic reasoning.

The group, in a statement by its national coordinator, Abiola Oluwagbenga, said Melaye’s comments reduced a complex fiscal issue to mere political theatrics, offering no meaningful contribution to the national conversation.

According to the statement, Melaye deliberately focused only on borrowing while ignoring broader financial reforms and debt management strategies implemented by the Tinubu administration.

It noted that while Melaye portrayed borrowing as reckless, he failed to acknowledge the government’s achievements in restructuring debt, improving revenue mobilization, and reducing debt-servicing pressures that crippled past administrations.

The group further highlighted the full repayment of the ₦30 trillion Ways and Means debt inherited from previous governments as one of the administration’s landmark achievements.

“This repayment, announced by the President in his Independence Day broadcast of October 2024, was accompanied by healthy foreign reserves of about $37 billion. The debt-service-to-revenue ratio also fell dramatically from 97 percent to 68 percent, while a $7 billion forex backlog was cleared to stabilize the naira,” it added.

The Media Force asked why Melaye, in his so-called analysis, conveniently ignored these verifiable accomplishments.

The group further noted that Nigeria’s public debt profile, which stood at ₦149.39 trillion as of March 31, 2025, has been transparently managed.

According to the Debt Management Office, much of the increase is due to currency depreciation, not reckless borrowing.

It emphasized that Nigeria’s debt-to-GDP ratio remains at a moderate 40–45 percent, which is far healthier than South Africa’s 70 percent or Ghana’s 90 percent, yet Melaye failed to reference these critical comparative benchmarks.

The group added that Melaye’s attempt to criticize Tinubu on borrowing was even more laughable considering his silence in the past.

“As a senator, he was aligned with administrations that borrowed heavily without transparent repayment plans, yet he never raised his voice.”

The Media Force described this selective outrage as hypocrisy, proof that his comments were politically motivated rather than based on sound financial reasoning.

In addition, the group highlighted the government’s proactive steps to address sector-specific debts, such as the ₦4 trillion refinancing plan approved in August 2025 to clear liabilities in the power sector.

This, it argued, is a pragmatic solution that will stabilize electricity supply and attract investment, unlike the “baseless complaints” Melaye has offered without suggesting any realistic alternative.

On infrastructure, the Media Force reminded Nigerians of the $652 million secured from China Exim Bank to construct a strategic road corridor linking the Lekki Deep Sea Port and the Dangote Refinery to southern trade routes.

According to the group, this demonstrates how the administration is borrowing responsibly, directing funds into projects that yield economic returns, unlike the unaccountable loans of the past which Melaye supported in silence.

It stressed that President Tinubu’s policies have already delivered practical benefits to Nigerians.

“From the rollout of the Nelfund student loan scheme to agro-economic planning aimed at reducing food prices, and a compressed natural gas framework that lowers transport costs, the administration has tied its fiscal policies directly to citizens’ welfare. Melaye’s failure to acknowledge these achievements, they said, renders his analysis hollow,” it noted.

Concluding its statement, the Tinubu Media Force urged Nigerians not to be swayed by what they described as “comedy parading as financial analysis.”

It encouraged President Tinubu to remain focused on his economic reforms and his promise of sustainable prosperity, insisting that the opposition must do more than throw tantrums if they want to be taken seriously in national discourse.

“The appointment of Professor Yilwatda is a fitting choice. His brilliance, political dexterity, capacity, and leadership qualities make him the right man to guide the party at this crucial time,” the statement read.

TMF noted that the APC, under President Tinubu’s guidance, has demonstrated maturity and stability through peaceful transitions and strategic decisions.

“As APC’s largest grassroots media structure, we are confident that Professor Yilwatda’s leadership will place the party on a progressive and dynamic trajectory,” it stated.

The group emphasised that over the past decade, the APC has maintained a tradition of selecting party chairmen with strong character and a clear vision for both the party and the country, adding that Yilwatda is expected to continue and build on that legacy.

TMF also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the APC and its governments at both the national and state levels.

It pledged to leverage its nationwide grassroots media network to amplify the party’s achievements and promote national development.
