He said: “When a few us (the leaders) put together this idea that we need to solidify the base of our Governor, take note this meeting is not just an ordinary meeting. This is “Ukodo” base, no other senatorial district should have taken this initiative away from us.

“Since 1999, there has been no time that the Urhobo nation; Delta Central has been so united than today, none. And since 1999 we have not delivered 100% in Delta State to one party and I want to bet with everything I have that for the first time, Delta State will return APC 100%.”

He stated that the Unity Meeting would be replicated across the senatorial district’s eight local governments, including wards and units, and urged leaders to move forward with courage and determination.

After God, my loyalty lies with Tinubu – Umahi

Minister of Works Sen. David Umahi has declared that after God, his loyalty lies with President Bola Tinubu saying that he takes instructions only from the duo.

Umahi made the declaration in Abakaliki while speaking with newsmen on the president’s recent commendation on him over some infrastructural feats.

The minister said the commendation was worth more than one trillion dollars to him as it shows he was on the right track and that God answers prayers.

“I have told the president even publicly that my loyalty is to God first and then, him.

“When a man gives you the type of trust Tinubu has given me, you will.be of the devil to betray him,” he said.

He said that anyone who betrayed Tinubu after receiving such level of trust and support would incur the wrath of God.

“Have you seen where a man presided over the procurement of a project worth N1.6 trillion and his boss did not call him to ask how he went about it?

“I am talking about one section of the project depending on the length.

“I also dedicate the president’s commendation to all those who pray for me to succeed in serving the people.

“This means that contractors would be on their toes to complete about 30 mega projects which the president will inaugurate by Dec.20.

“I am involved in the construction and inspection of the projects scattered across the six geo-political zones of the country,” he said.

Tinubu has reversed years of infrastructural neglect in southeast – Umahi

Minister of Works David Umahi has hailed the impact of President Bola Tinubu in the Southeast and the entire country in general

The Minister spoke at the 2025 Sallah celebration with the Ebonyi Muslim community in Abakaliki, capital of the state.

He credited Tinubu with reversing years of federal neglect in the Southeast.

“Before now, many Southeast states had no federal projects. But today, the federal presence is visible across the region. That is true national integration,” Umahi said.

The Minister also praised President Tinubu for fostering what he described as an “unprecedented” level of interfaith harmony and national integration in Nigeria.

Umahi highlighted the administration’s religious and ethnic inclusiveness, which he said has reached an “excellent level.”

“The relationship between faiths in Nigeria is much better now. It surprised many Christians when the President led a Nigerian delegation to the Pope’s inauguration. That was very unique and historic,” Umahi said.

He described the President’s attendance at the Pope’s inauguration as a symbol of his genuine respect for all faiths.

The Minister emphasized that the foundation of all religions is love, urging Nigerians to focus on common values rather than differences.

“We all serve one God in different ways. Both Muslims and Christians preach love and the fear of God,” he stated.

Addressing concerns over the initial Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, Umahi cited religious balance in federal appointments as a significant indicator of inclusiveness.

“Christians currently hold about 62% of appointments under President Tinubu, while Muslims hold about 38%. That shows national cohesion in practice,” he explained.

Several Christian leaders including Southeast Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Southeast  Chairman, Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali attended the Salah celebration which Umahi said underlined the deepening unity.

He applauded the President for appointing Southeast natives to top positions—including himself as Minister of Works, the Chief of Naval Staff, and the Minister of Science and Technology.

He described the appointment s as meaningful steps toward reintegrating the region into national governance.

“We lost political ground in the past, but this government is bringing us back. It’s not yet perfect, but we are no longer left behind. We must acknowledge that and support the President,” Umahi urged.

He called on the people of the Southeast to reject divisive narratives and focus instead on constructive engagement with the federal government.

“The Southeast must count one before counting two. We need reintegration, not isolation. President Tinubu has started this process—we must not waste the opportunity,” he said.

Reaffirming his loyalty to President Tinubu, Umahi commended the President’s unwavering support for the Ministry of Works, calling it a reflection of sincere national leadership.

“If you betray such a man, you betray God and Nigeria. I serve both God and the President with the fear of God,” he declared.

Muslim community leaders in Ebonyi, including Sariki Danjuma Gambo and Salis Mohammed, echoed Umahi’s sentiments.

The hailed the peaceful coexistence on display and pledged their full support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid in the 2027 elections.

2027: No single party can defeat Tinubu — Ex-Presidential candidate

A former Presidential Candidate, Chief Martin Onovo, says it will be difficult for any single opposition party to defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Onovo, who was the candidate of the defunct National Conscience Party(NCP) in 2015, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) on Monday in Lagos.

According to him, the only way to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next Presidential election is a strong alliance  of  opposition parties against the ruling party.

Onovo described the coalition being championed by former PDP Presidential candidate ,Alhaji Atiku Abubabakar and other like-minded leaders to challenge Tinubu in 2027 as a step in the right direction.

“I was the brain behind the largest coalition ever in the fourth Republic which birthed the Coalition of United Political Parties(CUPP) and I can tell you that coalition is the only way, because a united minority is stronger than a divided majority.

“The coalition will win the 2027 election with 99 per cent votes if it is not self- sabotaged.

“Take it to bank, it will not fail, it will succeed and defeat the ruling party convincingly, if they do it well.

“If the coalition is not self -sabotaged, it will be difficult for APC to return in 2027,” Onovo, also an activist and Head of Policy Positions, Movement for Fundamental Change(MFC), said

On the mid-year assessment of the present administration ,Onovo said not much had been achieved in the area of security and provision of basic needs to the masses.

He urged Tinubu to use the remaining years of his first term to do more to tackle security challenges and improve living standards.

Onovo also advised Tinubu to strengthen his cabinet with technocrats and competent people in order to  fulfil his campaign promises to Nigerians effectively

“The President needs to be clear about his objectives, he should be all out to better the welfare and security of ordinary Nigerians in the city and remotest areas.

“We need competent people in positions not loyalists. Let us get the right people, right strategies and ethical environment, while the President provides leadership and takes responsibility.

“We need the right commanders with strategies in security and economy to end insecurity and suffering. We must not sacrifice performance for loyalty” Onovo said.

Onovo also urged the President to fight corruption more vigorously and reduce inequality index ,which he blamed for insecurity and social tensions.

  • Tinubu’s reforms prevented economic collapse, say Ohakim, Ooni

Tinubu’s reforms prevented economic collapse, say Ohakim, Ooni

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms have drawn strong commendations from prominent Nigerian leaders, with former Imo State Governor, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, describing his policies as both courageous and transformational.

Speaking at separate events over the weekend, both figures praised Tinubu’s administration for stabilising the nation’s fragile economy and restoring investor confidence at home and abroad.

Delivering a paper titled “Building Nigeria’s Troubled Economy: Practical Insight into the Challenges and Solutions” at the Synod of the Diocese of Orlu (Anglican Communion) in Imo State, Dr. Ohakim said the Tinubu administration’s economic measures, though painful, have averted the total collapse of the Nigerian economy.

“The Tinubu administration has taken measures that, though painful, clearly prevented the complete deterioration of the national economy to an irretrievable point,” Ohakim said.

“Even though it is hard to sell, there can be no doubt that there is a brighter future ahead.”

He cited the removal of petroleum subsidies as a bold policy that has already shown signs of positive impact. According to him, petrol, which once surged to over N1,500 per litre, now sells at around N900 nationwide, with improved availability.

Ohakim also highlighted how increased federal allocations have empowered state governments to meet salary obligations and execute infrastructure projects.

“Today, subnational governments receive more funds from the Federation Account, and many governors are putting it to good use,” he added.

Using Imo State as an example, he praised Governor Hope Uzodimma’s infrastructure drive and a power project aimed at delivering 24-hour electricity to all 27 local government areas by 2027.

Despite his praise, Ohakim emphasised the need for a more fundamental restructuring of Nigeria’s political framework.

At a separate event in Lagos, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, also voiced strong support for President Tinubu during a courtesy visit to the President’s Ikoyi residence to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The monarch, fresh from a diplomatic visit to Kazakhstan, said Nigeria’s international image is improving due to Tinubu’s economic and foreign exchange reforms.

“The good things Mr. President is doing are opening Nigeria up to so many nations that now want to work with us,” the Ooni said.

“There is no longer arbitrage. The unification of the foreign exchange rate is a bold step. The world is watching Nigeria.”

He praised the administration’s move to restructure the Forest Guard system, describing it as critical to national security and long-term economic growth.

“We are very happy with the Forest Guard initiative and the plan to strengthen internal security across the country. Once security is guaranteed, investment will follow,” he added.

Oba Ogunwusi emphasised the role of traditional institutions in supporting national development and called on citizens and leaders to adopt a more optimistic view of the country’s progress.

“It’s about time we come together and look at Nigeria as a cup half full, not half empty,” he said.

  • Why coalition against Tinubu will fail, by Yakassai

Why coalition against Tinubu will fail, by Yakassai

Opposition coalition against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would fail due to lack of credibility among the promoters and public distrust, the Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, said yesterday.

Yakasai, son of the 99-year old elderstatesman Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, said the coalition, made up of political actors with questionable records, would not gain traction with Nigerians, many of whom remember the failures of the opposition when they held power.

The TSG leader told reporters in Abuja that those mooting the idea of coalition once disappointed Nigerians when they had the opportunities to govern.

Yakasai said: “In Nigeria, we have seen that after every election, the losers tend to cry the loudest, even when they performed abysmally when given the opportunity to serve the people. What APC has come to do is to clear the mess of past misgovernance by the Peoples Democratic Party for 16 years.”

He highlighted the scandals that characterised the PDP era, including the disappearance of $16 billion earmarked for power infrastructure and the Halliburton bribery, which led to a conviction in the United States.

Yakasai stressed: “You can remember that it was in this country that $16 billion meant for power infrastructure went missing. It was in this country that we had the Halliburton scandal for which an American senator was jailed,  but collaborators in Nigeria have not faced the law.”

He said the opposition’s lack of a unifying agenda beyond their shared desire for power would ultimately doom any attempted alliance.

The TSG leader added: “It is easy for coalitions to meet because of their interests, but when it comes to the time to agree, they will naturally disagree because that is in their character. In any case, when coalition meets, many of their members have been moving into APC in droves.”

Yakasai dismissed fears that Nigeria is slipping into a one-party system due to the gale of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that party-switching occurs in all directions in a democracy.

He said President Tinubu’s administration has made bold economic reforms that demonstrate the seriousness of purpose absent in previous governments.

Yakasai praised the president over the removal of the fuel subsidy and the unification of foreign exchange windows.

He stressed: “The first major achievement of this administration is to do away with the unsustainable fuel subsidy that became a monster consuming resources; billions of Naira that would have been used for national development but ended up in the pockets of a few individuals.

“The second thing is that streamlining of the parallel foreign exchange market which hitherto saw a few connected persons doing round-tripping—getting foreign currency from the Central Bank and instead of using it for manufacturing or industry, they go and sell to forex dealers in the black market.”

    President’s supporters get website

Ahead of 2027 elections, BAT Ideological Group, a coordinating supporters base of President Bola Tinubu, has donated a website to Tinubu Support Group to facilitate easy registration and coordination of members and support groups.

It is aimed at bringing all efforts under an umbrella to reduce logistical costs associated with travelling to Abuja for meetings and registration.

It will sell policies and political strategies of the President and ensure coordinated actions and strategies eliminate working at cross purposes.

Convener of BAT Ideological Group, Bamidele Atoyebi, said: “The website is a digital platform for supporters to register and access information about meetings, rallies, and planning strategies.”

Atoyebi noted that Tinubu has many supporters, and the majority may not have time or means to travel regularly.

Atoyebi said: “With the innovation, every meeting will be published on the website for quick and easy access to information: time for meeting, rally, planning and strategy.

“Meetings will be via Zoom and leaders will not need to fly or drive  to Abuja.’’

“The website, which is now live, allows individuals to register by selecting their organisation from a dropdown list.

“If the organisation is not listed, the individual cannot register, ensuring that only authorised groups can participate.”

“Leaders of support groups can also register their groups and add members to their teams.”

Asked about the process, the convener responded, “The registration process is straightforward, with individuals required to provide their name, state, local government, phone number, email address, and voter’s card ID.

“Leaders, on the other hand, must provide their organisation’s name, headquarters, and other relevant details.

“The website also features a dashboard for leaders to manage their teams, add members, and assign designations.

“The super admin will verify all registrations before allowing leaders to log in and access the platform.”

Atoyebi stressed that the website is an innovation that will improve communication and coordination among support groups.

He urged members to adopt the technology to reduce logistical costs and increase accessibility.

“With this website, the TSG aims to create a unified platform for all support groups to work together towards the success and re-election of President Tinubu.

“The BAT Ideological Group’s donation is a significant step towards achieving this goal, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the upcoming election,” Atoyebi said.

FERMA chief gives Tinubu kudos on road infrastructure

Managing Director of Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Dr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his support to the agency through his Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dr. Agbasi, who spoke on his Public Servant of the Year 2024 award, said Tinubu’s strategic leadership and investment in roads have given FERMA the clarity, resources, and direction to transform federal roads.

“The President’s Renewed Hope Agenda has redefined infrastructure delivery,” he said.

“It is his vision that’s enabling us to push forward with rehabilitation efforts. We’re not just maintaining roads, we’re restoring public confidence in our road network.”

While dedicating the award to FERMA staff, Agbasi described the honour as a collective achievement and a tribute to the resilience of those working behind the scenes.

“This award is not mine, it belongs to every FERMA employee, who works under the sun and rain, to keep our roads safe and motorable,” he said.

Agbasi reaffirmed their commitment to sustained road maintenance, stressing FERMA is gradually moving away from emergency interventions to preventive maintenance.

“Our mandate is clear: to maintain federal roads and ensure they are consistently in serviceable condition…’’

We are now adopting preventive measures, anticipating road failure and acting before it occurs. That’s the new direction, and it’s already yielding results,” he said.

Having recently overseen a series of road rehabilitation projects in Lagos and other parts of the country, Agbasi emphasised that the work is far from over.

“We have ongoing projects in all 36 states. Until every federal road is in good condition, we won’t rest,” he said.

He further expressed deep gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and contribute meaningfully to the development of Nigeria’s infrastructure.

“The President has set the compass; we’re following through with action. We owe him not just gratitude, but results, and that’s what we are delivering,” he added.

FERMA, under Agbasi’s leadership, has gained widespread commendation for its renewed efficiency, timely interventions, and strategic project delivery, earning him the reputation of being a “round peg in a round hole.”

With ongoing projects and a vision anchored on Tinubu’s Renewed Hope framework, FERMA is poised to keep improving the road experience for millions of Nigerians across the country.
