2027: RTEAN to mobilise members for Tinubu’s re-election

Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for another term.

The organisation pledged a nationwide grassroots mobilisation, logistics support, and the activation of its structures across the 774 local government areas in the country for the president’s re-election.

President of RTEAN, Musa Maitakobi, made the declaration when members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Jagaban Squad paid him a courtesy visit, where he was formally crowned Life Patron of the group.

As part of its commitment, Maitakobi announced that the association would donate a fully branded bus to the Jagaban Squad to enhance its visibility and mobility within Abuja.

According to him, the bus would be branded with the Jagaban Squad identity and photographs of President Tinubu, himself, and the Abuja-based Coordinator of the group, serving as a mobile platform to showcase the squad’s activities.

He disclosed that discussions were already ongoing with key APC stakeholders on the possibility of securing additional buses to strengthen nationwide outreach ahead of the 2027 election.

Maitakobi described RTEAN as one of the most organised political support structures in the country, noting that the association has functional leadership in all local government areas.

He said, “RTEAN chairmen in every state are fully committed to ensuring victory for the APC. Once the campaign officially begins, our mobilisation efforts will be intensified.”

He added that the association plans to convene a national convention to publicly reaffirm its political direction and support for the President.

Recalling RTEAN’s early endorsement of Tinubu ahead of the 2023 elections, Maitakobi said members of the association openly identified with the APC candidate at campaign rallies across the country.

“At the presidential campaign rally in Jos in 2023, we were present in our uniforms. We were also seen in Kano, Ogun, Jigawa, and many other locations across the country,” he added.

He revealed that his loyalty to the APC had come at personal cost, including the demolition of his house in his home state.

Looking ahead to 2027, he assured that RTEAN’s efforts would surpass previous campaigns.

“By the grace of God, our focus is now on 2027. Compared to what we did in the past, our efforts this time will be doubled and even multiplied. Those who honored me as Patron of the Jagaban Squad are determined to show the world that we stand firmly with Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

Maitakobi also commended the Tinubu administration for what he described as transformative initiatives in the transport sector, particularly the introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles and filling stations across parts of the country.

He noted that transport unions, including RTEAN and the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), as well as labour centres, have benefited from the distribution of CNG vehicles.

The RTEAN president expressed optimism that a Transport Bank, similar to the Bank of Industry and the Bank of Agriculture, would be established to support operators in the sector.

He disclosed that RTEAN has over five million registered members nationwide, pledging continued loyalty to the Tinubu administration.

In his remarks, National Coordinator of the APC Jagaban Squad, Adekunle Alebiosu, appreciated RTEAN for its partnership and support, describing the association as a formidable organisation capable of boosting grassroots mobilisation for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

He commended the RTEAN leadership for the donation of the bus and other planned logistics, describing the association as an integral part of the APC family.

He said, “RTEAN is a formidable organization with a strong nationwide structure. Its support will significantly boost grassroots mobilization for the APC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

“We are confident that this partnership between RTEAN and the Jagaban Squad will yield positive results and contribute immensely to the success of President Tinubu and the APC in the coming election cycle.”

    Barau champions Tinubu’s re-election at ex-legislators’ summit

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has called for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 to ensure full implementation of his comprehensive reform agenda for the positive transformation of the country.

Barau spoke on Saturday at the 2026 National Summit of Former Legislators with the theme: “National unity and nation building: Beyond 2031,” in Abuja.

Organised by the National Forum of Former Legislators (NFFL) with the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, as the convener, the summit drew former legislators from across political divides, including former Senate Presidents, Pius Anyim and Ken Nnamani, as well as former Speakers of the House of Representatives, Patricia Eteh and Yakubu Dogara, among others.

His call amplified similar calls from the NFFL National Coordinator, Hon. Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe, former Senate Presidents, Speakers, and others, urging support for President Tinubu to complete two full terms in line with the rotation principle that has ensured sanity and equality since the commencement of the Fourth Republic.

“I appeal that we should abide by the principle of rotation, which has brought sanity and equality since the beginning of the Fourth Republic.

“Of course, now the president, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is in his first term, and, as noted by other speakers, let’s not reinvent the wheel.

“We’ve seen that the rotational system is working. We shall allow it to work. And so, as said by the Honourable Tunji Ojo, the president is doing well. He has said a few of the things the President is doing to bring prosperity to our nation. So, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should be allowed to do two full terms,” Senator Barau was quoted in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir.

Responding to requests from the National Coordinator and a former Senate President, Barau pledged to forward the proposal for embedding the rotational system in the Constitution to the National Assembly. “I will certainly do that,” he affirmed.

Highlighting the summit’s theme, the Deputy President of the Senate stressed the need for national unity, mentorship, and continuity in governance.

He assured of the collaboration between the National Assembly and NFFL, noting that “The leadership of the National Assembly remains open to collaboration with NFFL and similar bodies. We recognise that governance does not end with tenure, and that patriotism is a lifelong duty.”

He further commended the NFFL for the timely initiative, emphasising the enduring role of former legislators in Nigeria’s democracy.

“Former legislators occupy a unique and respected place in our national life. You are men and women who have had the privilege and the burden of lawmaking. Your experience, institutional memory, and statesmanship remain invaluable national assets,” he stated.

Bbarau, who is also the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, urged the former members of parliament to generate ideas for a stronger Nigeria.

In the communique read at the end of the summit, a vote of confidence was passed on President Tinubu, and he was endorsed as the forum’s sole candidate for the 2027 Presidential election.

A former Senator, Yakubu Oseni (Kogi Central), moved the motion for the adoption of the communique, and Senator Florence Ita Giwa (Cross River) seconded it.

Ahead of 2027 general election, scores of Muslim and Christian clerics have gathered to offer prayers for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, describing the session as an avenue to seek divine intervention for the president as the poll’s date draws near.

The prayer session organised by members of the Presidential Coalition Council (PCC), served as an avenue for the clerics to invoke divine guidance and protection for the president as he pilot the country’s affairs towards attaining growth as well as development and seek for another four years mandate from Nigerians.

Addressing the gathering, the PCC Administrative Secretary, Abdulrasheed Abiodun Mafe, stated that the prayers and religious rites were meant to seek divine intervention for President Tinubu’s second-term bid

Mafe, the former Chairman of Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos, added that the prayer session served as the spiritual cornerstone for the official take-off of the PCC activities for the year.

He added that the gathering was aimed at securing God’s guidance and smooth political transition in 2027.

Lawmaker mobilises youths for Tinubu’s re-election

The lawmaker representing Alimosho Federal Constituency, Ganiyu Ayuba, has urged youths not to relent in their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is expected to seek re-election in 2027.

He gave the advice yesterday while declaring open a five-day basic computer skill, literacy and empowerment programme in Ikotun, Lagos.

The lawmaker said President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda prioritised youth empowerment, employment and innovation.

He said it was unfortunate that youths were unaware of the meaning of his logo and the symbol on his caps.

Ayuba said: “The broken chain symbolises someone working to build a country where no one is enslaved and a society where no one is oppressed.

“Many of you don’t know that Tinubu has been struggling to build a nation where no one is in chains and where citizens can live meaningful lives. The progress we enjoy in Lagos today is traceable to his diligence and hard work.

“As a product of that political school and the representative of this constituency, no one should expect me to do less. That was why, during the preparation of this year’s budget, I ensured the inclusion of training for Alimosho youths in basic computer skills and information and communication technology (ICT).

“There are many opportunities online that can turn our youths into entrepreneurs who can work from their homes and earn millions of naira. This is what this training is all about. After the programme, participants will be able to do many things, using their Android phones.”

He advised youths to key into President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which he described as historic. He recalled that there was hope in 1993, but it was dashed.

“They have no choice. As the future leaders of this country, it is in the interest of youths to support Tinubu’s progressive agenda,” he said.

He claimed that many youths were misled into supporting Peter Obi’s presidential bid during the last general election.

“They were deceived, misdirected and disoriented. But with the benefit of hindsight, they now have no choice but to embrace the Renewed Hope Agenda. Many of them have taken advantage of the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise to ensure they vote for Tinubu and all APC candidates in 2027,” Ayuba said.

He said the current training was one of several empowerment programmes designed for the people of Alimosho Federal Constituency.

Addressing the participants, he said: “This is your turning point. Embrace this ICT training with focus, discipline and creativity. Learn, innovate and transform your skills into businesses, jobs and meaningful contributions to the society.”

One of the organisers of the programme, Bola Afolabi, the Women’s President of Alimosho Federal Constituency, said she was impressed by Ayuba’s efforts in poverty alleviation among youths, women and other vulnerable groups in the society.

She noted that today’s youths are more privileged than their counterparts in previous generations.

Afolabi disclosed that 200 beneficiaries had already registered for the programme, saying more participants were expected on the second day.

“Federal Government sponsored this programme in conjunction with the Centre for Management Development (CMD). After the training, beneficiaries will be provided with start-up kits to enable them put into practice the skills acquired during the programme,” she said.

JUST IN: PDP members defect to APC in Ondo, declare support for Tinubu’s re-election

Scores of members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging their support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.

The defectors, who are grassroots mobilisers drawn from the 18 local government areas of the state, said they could no longer remain in the “crisis-ridden” PDP with what they described as a weakened leadership structure.

The PDP defectors, who are also members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), attributed their switch to APC to President Tinubu’s economic reforms and ongoing infrastructure projects across the state.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors under the banner of the Asiwaju Transport Movement on Tuesday, Mr. Ojo Adewole commended President Tinubu for what he called the restoration of the country’s “lost glory” through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Adewole cited several federal road projects – including the dualisation of the Benin-Ilesa Expressway, the Ore -Ondo Akure road expansion, the Akure – Ado-Ekiti Expressway, and the ongoing coastal highway – as major factors that influenced their decision.

“We were encouraged to join the APC by our Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. We thank him for the opportunity given to us, and we will not disappoint him nor the party,” He said.

He added that the continuation of road projects initiated during the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari convinced them that President Tinubu was committed to national development.

Adewole also recalled that the only PDP federal lawmaker from Ondo State, Hon. Festus Akingbaso, and the three remaining PDP members in the state House of Assembly had recently defected to the APC – a development he said had left the state “virtually a one-party system.”

Receiving the defectors at the APC Secretariat in Akure, the state chairman of the party, Engr. Ade Adetimehin welcomed and urged them to mobilise support for a landslide victory for President Tinubu in 2027.

“This is the party of victory. In the APC, we don’t discriminate -there are no old members or new members; we are all equal, Adetimehin said.

He noted that the performance of President Tinubu had continued to draw more supporters into the ruling party.

“President Tinubu has done well for us in this state. We can all see what he is doing. His Renewed Hope Initiatives are favouring us.

“Work has begun on new road projects in Ondo State, and our people are being given appointments. So, we must work hard to give him a landslide victory here,” he added.

2027: Northern minorities declare support for Tinubu’s re-election

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a conglomerate of socio-cultural organisations, Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG), have thrown their weight behind the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The non-partisan group declared their support for the president during a courtesy call on the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, at the party secretariat in Abuja.

Commending the resolve of the group, Yiltwada described as patriotic the support by minority ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria for President Tinubu.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Mustapha Bala Dawaki, the APC leader said all initiatives to support the current government are well considered as the administration means well for the country.

He noted that the initiative by NNMG to support the President independently reflects a deep appreciation of the good work the administration is doing and shows that the group is concerned about the development of the country.

Yilwatda noted that for the group to be promoting and defending the interests of the Tinubu-led APC administration without prompting from any quarters shows that the group is “patriotic and means well for Nigeria.”

Earlier, the Convener of the group, Chief Jacob Edi, explained that the group was formed to support good initiatives aimed at improving the lot of the citizenry.

The group commended the fair sharing of allocation of resources, projects, and appointments by the Tinubu-led administration, which he said has been based on merit and objectivity.

Edi cited projects and appointments beneficial to minority ethnic groups in northern Nigeria, to include the establishment of a North Central Development Commission, Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, Kaduna State, Nigeria College of Aviation Technology in Kwara State, many road projects and his support for the emergence of Yiltwada as APC national chairman.

Edi said the group represents the over 200 minority ethnic groups in northern Nigeria and has members spread across the 19 northern states.

“We are ready to work day and night to ensure President Tinubu not only wins a second term but delivers a resounding, unchallengeable victory that will silence doubters and consolidate progress”, he stated.

    ‘North will ensure Tinubu’s re-election’

Northern political leaders have promised to work with the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The northern leaders, under the aegis of the Northern Bridge Builders Forum, announced their resolve during a visit to the Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Their leader, Senator Joel Dantami Ikenya, said the decision to support President Tinubu’s re-election was based on his ongoing reforms aimed at rebuilding the nation’s economy, strengthening national unity, and addressing security challenges.

Ihenya, a former Minister of Labour and Productivity, stated that the North was impressed by President Tinubu’s inclusive governance style, particularly his decision to bring technocrats on board his administration who align with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He added that the Northern Bridge Builders Forum – spread across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and backed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF)  Senator George Akume – would collaborate with regional groups, such as Afenifere, to promote peace, unity, and development across the country.

“We are here as bridge builders. We are a group of people who have served this country at the highest level, and we have seen from the beginning of President Bola Tinubu’s administration the changes he has brought.

“We have seen his sacrifice and we say we must support him to continue. We want to thank you for supporting our son, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

“We feel that things must move forward, and we must work together to get the country to the promised land.

“In 2027, the North must work together. We want to assure you that the North will perform better than it did in 2023 by supporting President Tinubu. We need your prayers,” Ihenya said.

The former minister gave reasons for supporting the President’s re-election bid.

He said: “We are supporting President Tinubu because Nigeria belongs to all of us. We believe in the unity of this country. The North has just done eight years under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Now, President Tinubu has spent just two years and some months. It would be unfair to agitate for power to return to the North now. That is why we believe the southern part of this country should retain power until Tinubu completes his eight years.”

Pa Fasoranti described the forum’s visit as “a demonstration of renewed trust and shared commitment to a united Nigeria”.

Represented by the Chairman of Afenifere’s National Executive Committee and traditional ruler of Ilu Abo, Chief Olu Falae, the Afenifere leader praised the northern leaders for their gesture and support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“That is the hope and the future of Nigeria. If we unite and avoid crises or break-ups, we have a bright future. Political bridges must be built, and I thank you for being part of this effort.

“There are about 448 ethnic nationalities in Nigeria, and every group, no matter how small, has a right to be part of the nation’s progress. No tribe is too small to be ignored,” the Afenifere leader said.

He prayed for peace and unity in the country, stressing that cooperation between the North and the South remained crucial to Nigeria’s stability and prosperity.

“I’m happy that we are building bridges across the North and South. That is the only way Nigeria can survive and thrive as a multi-ethnic, multi-linguistic country,” Fasoranti added.

…Nigeria’s economy has improved under Tinubu, says Afenifere

Northern leaders under the Arewa Think Tank have formally declared their support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, pledging that the North will stand firmly behind his administration and re-election bid.

The leaders, under the influential northern socio-political group, said their decision was informed by President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to promote national unity, economic recovery, and security reforms, noting that his policies have begun yielding positive results across the country.

The group made the pledge on Monday during a courtesy visit to the leadership of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, at the Akure residence of its National Leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, in Ondo State.

The delegation to Akure, led by Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, Muhammad Ibrahim, Ahmed Tijani Hamisu, Wasila Abdul Hamid, and Adamu Sani, emphasized the unity of the country and the need for President Tinubu to complete the eight-year tenure for the South.

Speaking during the visit, Convener of the Arewa Think Tank, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, said it was important for the northern group to renew its relationship with the South-West in support of Tinubu’s re-election.

Yakubu, who represented former Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, a leader of the group, lauded what he described as the “impressive scorecard” of President Tinubu since assuming office, stressing that the administration has made Nigerians proud after over two years in office.

“We are here today to renew our relationship with the South-West and reassure the region that the North will stand by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

We want to thank you, sir, for the South-West’s role in giving us a Nigerian President who has a vision, a mission, and who has performed well in the last two years.

“We are also here to present to you the impressive mid-term scorecard of President Bola Tinubu. We are confident and hopeful that he will take Nigeria to the Promised Land. We have seen, in the last two years, what inter-regional collaboration and support can do to move this country forward,” Yakubu said.

He added that the Arewa Think Tank remains fully committed to Tinubu’s re-election bid and would not back down in ensuring his victory in 2027 to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration.

“We are already committed to Tinubu. We don’t double-talk; we don’t play double games. When our governors, around 2022-2023, decided that power should go to the South-West, they were consistent and direct -they chose Tinubu.

And we are going to continue on that path until, by God’s grace, 2031,” he declared.

While calling for unity as the next election year approaches, Yakubu reiterated that power should remain in the South in the spirit of fairness and equity.

“Even if a northerner is showing interest, I have already said we are committed. For the unity of this country, power must stay in the South until 2031. The North has had it for eight years; it is only fair that it remains in the South.

“That is the gentleman’s agreement-we are not hypocrites, we don’t double-talk, and we stand by our word,” he added.

Yakubu also described Pa Fasoranti as an “unbiased nationalist” who has always stood above ethnic and religious divisions, noting that the elder statesman deserves appreciation for his leadership and mentorship.

“We should appreciate him. People like Pa Fasoranti are living encyclopedias of Nigerian history and national commitment. That’s why we are here -to honour and thank him,” he stated.

Responding on behalf of Afenifere leaders, the Chairman of its National Executive Committee and Olu of Ilu Abo, Oba Olu Falae, said both the South-West and the North had been working together for the peace, progress, and development of the nation.

Oba Falae commended the northern group for their support and noted that the country’s economy has improved under President Tinubu’s administration, with Nigerians now beginning to experience the positive impact of his policies.

“We thank God now that we have a civilian president who has demonstrated, first, his understanding of the problems of Nigeria and the courage to deal with those problems.

“We all knew that the fuel subsidy was benefiting a gang of people who became billionaires at our expense. But Tinubu had the courage to remove it,” he said.

“Secondly, as an economist and a banker, I was horrified that Nigeria had about six different exchange rates. But we thank God things are getting better now. I want to thank you for your initiative to come and see our papa (Fasoranti) and to continue the old dialogue and relationship that we had.”

In a communiqué issued after the visit by the National Organizing Secretary, Otunba Kole Omololu, Afenifere reaffirmed its commitment to national unity and urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Omololu said the Yoruba socio-political organization commended the Arewa leadership for their steadfast commitment to fostering genuine partnership grounded in truth, fairness, and inclusivity.

He added that the renewed collaboration builds upon the historic unity of Nigeria’s founding fathers in pursuit of a just and prosperous federation.

Both parties, he said, resolved to establish a joint framework to advance meaningful discussions on constitutional reform, national security, and economic cooperation.

  • Jonathan not a threat to Tinubu’s re-election, says APC support group

    …inaugurates coordinators in 18 LGAs

A support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, the Progressive Network for Tinubu (PNT), has dismissed concerns that former President Goodluck Jonathan’s possible return to the presidential race could threaten President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Although Jonathan has not declared his intention to run, speculation has continued to mount that he may be considering a comeback to Aso Rock after losing his re-election bid to the late Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.

Speaking on Tuesday during the inauguration of the group’s local council coordinators across the 18 local government areas of the state, PNT Director-General, Olumide Obadele, said Jonathan’s possible candidacy would neither sway voters nor undermine President Tinubu’s prospects.

Obadele added that Nigerians still recall the controversies that characterised Jonathan’s administration under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stressing that the APC remains unconcerned about any talk of his return.

“The APC or Tinubu is not jittery about Goodluck Jonathan, and I can tell you that – take it from me. I’m sure Jonathan will not run at the end of the day. The constitution of Nigeria is clear about it, and there is no point trying to twist it,” he said.

Obadele noted that those urging Jonathan to contest were only out to “embarrass and rubbish” the former president.

“I think if he wants to be a true elder statesman, he should stay away from that attempt because he’s going to be embarrassed and rubbished. I don’t know which party – PDP or ADC – would even field him. Most of these opposition parties are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU); they are on life support,” he added.

According to Obadele, President Tinubu’s re-election bid was already a “done deal”, with several support groups showing strong solidarity with the ruling party ahead of the 2027 polls.

“I don’t think any party in Nigeria today can come up and say it wants to run against Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. For me, 2027 is a done deal. In 2023, they said a lot about Peter Obi, but it surprised them,” he said.

He also emphasized that political dynamics have changed since the last election cycle, stressing that the duo of Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar are still confused on which platform to run in the 2027 election.

“As I speak with you today, neither Obi nor Atiku knows under which party they will contest. Eight months is too short for anyone to make up their mind about running for president,” Obadele stated.

The PNT Director-General explained that the group was focused on mobilizing non-voting citizens and increasing voter participation across Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Under PNT, we are moving from units to local governments to canvass support for President Tinubu. We have voter apathy here in Ondo State. If only 28.6% voted in the last election, that’s not good enough.

“We are targeting the remaining 70% – the elites who stay home on election day. We want to enlighten and educate them about what Asiwaju is doing and why he deserves our support, especially here in Yorubaland,” he stated.

Earlier, the coordinator of the APC Elders’ Movement, Otunba Agboola Kelly, commended the Minister of Interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his unwavering support and commitment to President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Kelly described Tunji-Ojo as a “God-given and illustrious son of Ondo State” whose efforts have significantly boosted pro-Tinubu mobilization activities across the state.

He added that the minister’s contributions had further strengthened the Ondo State APC Elders’ Movement for Tinubu 2027, which continues to expand in membership and influence.

The Niger Delta Ex-Agitators Forum (NDEAF) — Phases 1, 2 and 3 — has reiterated total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The ex-agitators made the pledge during a rally to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary and the giant strides by the Tinubu administration to revamp the country in all sectors.

Speaking during the rally in Warri, Delta State, the Forum’s Convener, ‘General’ Emma Satu, said despite the fact that there are some challenges confronting the nation, the last two years under the administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had indeed been momentous for Nigeria.

He asserted that the Niger Delta region, in particular, had received immense attention in terms of infrastructure development, road construction, federal appointments, and so many more.

Satu stated that Nigeria had thrived democratically since President Tinubu was elected two years ago, noting that under his watch, Nigeria had taken giant steps through policies targeted at the economy, education, health, infrastructure, power and other key sectors.

Satu stated: “You will agree with us that the various policies implemented by Mr President including the subsidy removal on petrol, are all aimed towards making Nigeria a united, progressive, developed, egalitarian and virile nation as well as pride in the comity of African nations and globally.

“Ladies and gentlemen, our support for Mr President is borne out of the belief in his impactful leadership and giant strides in every sector since he was elected by the majority of Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones of the country in 2023 and we make bold to say that Nigerians, especially the Niger Deltans will rally behind him once again come 2027.

“For those who are wondering why  there have been gales of endorsement of President Tinubu, we wish to state it clearly that our support for Mr President is because he embodies good governance culture, and respect for the rule of law and the Nigerian constitution.

“In the past two years of his administration, Mr President has manoeuvred turbulent waters to enrich the democratic practice in Nigeria and expanded the frontiers of development across the length and breadth of our great country.

“We are excited to say that Mr President through his Renewed Hope Agenda, has not only strengthened the unity of Nigeria but promoted peaceful co-existence, stability and development across the nation. His leadership has truly ushered in a new lease of life for all Nigerians, including the people of the Niger Delta.”

The Convener also said Mr President won their hearts, support and love when he entrusted several Niger Delta sons and daughters into key government portfolios in his administration.

He noted: “These Niger Deltans are contributing their quota towards achieving the administration’s eight-point Renewed Hope Agenda and the development and growth of this nation. “Indeed we are proud of all of them because they are representing us very well as worthy ambassadors.

“Mr President, of all your appointments, one particular one stands out and that is the appointment of Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro from Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State, as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP. “Through this appointment, you have given us a huge sense of belonging and we are happy and grateful to you because giant strides have been recorded by the PAP Administrator.

“We also applaud the President for the support so far given to Dr. Otuaro, especially in the area of prompt release of funds for smooth-running of the Amnesty Office which we believe is the catalyst for the remarkable success  of the programme.”
