An elder statesman and ally to the winner of the June 12, 1993, presidential election, MKO Abiola, Alhaji Sufianu Kazeem has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s proposed tax reforms bill, saying the bill will streamline tax processes, closing revenue gaps, and fostering business-friendly environment.
He stated that the tax reform will boost Nigeria’s economic recovery efforts.
A statement by the elder statesman urged the legislature to expedite the passage of the bill to strengthen fiscal stability and economic revitalization.
He commended President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which according to him has been pivotal in repositioning Nigeria to be a prime global investment destination.

According to him, Tinubu’s leadership has been exemplary in promoting unity and bridging ethnic and regional divides, adding that Tinubu’s administration reflects a genuine commitment to fostering a united Nigeria, where every citizen feels seen, heard, and represented.
He lauded President Tinubu for his recent inauguration of an extensive conditional cash transfer program, targeting over 15 million households across the nation.
The elder statesman called on the federal government to review it from N75,000 to either N100,000 or N150,000, saying the increase will help Nigerians mitigate the increase in the price of commodities.
Kazeem also sought a review of the current minimum wage, saying the N70,000 currently being paid to workers can no longer be sufficient, particularly with the continued increase in fuel prices across the country.
He, however, called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu in his drive towards leading the nation out of difficult times.
