Tojemarine Academy are steps away from claiming this year’s Ardova Handball Premier League title after beating their closest rivals rival Niger United 31-23 yesterday to extend their lead on the league table at the ongoing tournament in Benin, Edo State.
The first half of the game was tight but the Tojemarine boys came all out in the second stanza to beat their opponent and maintain their unbeaten run that stretches to seven games, in the league.
However, it was the first defeat for Niger United boys who were disappointed after the game as their efforts failed to yield, at least a draw, in the top of the table clash.
With the result, Tojemarine Academy are sitting on top of the table with 21 points having won their seven matches of the series while Niger United are closely following with 18 points.
