    Actor Tony Umez debunks death rumour, vows legal action

    Veteran Nollywood actor, Tony Umez, has reacted to false claims concerning his demise, expressing displeasure over reports alleging that he is dead.

    The movie star, in a post via his official Instagram page on Wednesday, September 7, said he is hale and hearty, urging his fans and followers to ignore the report.

    According to him, the aim of bloggers and TikTokers reporting his demise is to garner traffic and chase clout.

    TUmez also threatened to take legal action against the persons spreading such rumours because it is causing unnecessary distress to his loved ones and fans.

    He said: “Good day, my lovely people. I need to address this disturbing issue that has come to my attention. There are some unscrupulous individuals who have been using my pictures and videos maliciously, falsely reporting me as deceased in order to gain traffic to their pages.

    “First and foremost, I want to assure you that I am very much alive and well. These false reports are nothing but baseless rumours spread by individuals with ill intentions.

    “I will be taking legal action against these persons, as their actions not only infringe upon my rights but also cause unnecessary distress to my loved ones and fans.

    Veteran actor Tony Umez has denied his reported death, putting an end to the baseless speculation circulating over the past few days.

    In a video on his official social media account, Tony Umez appeared hale and hearty, assuring his fans and well-wishers that he is very much alive and in good health.

    He said: “I want to address this thing tht has been going on in the social media about my purported death. This was malicious, evil, wicked and despicable and it goes to show you the mindset of these people who would sit down and fashion out something, this cost my family, fans and well wishers serious traum,” Tony said.

    “So I want to state today September 5 that I Tony Umez is alive and kicking, nothing do me, I am good, very good and I want to sound a note of warning that we are coming for you and whatever you wish to me I wish you back a hundred fold, it is back to sender. God bless you.”

    The false reports of his death sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and his fan base with many expressing concerns and disbelief.

    However, Umez’s quick response and reassuring video message put an end to the unfounded rumors.
