    UAMC holds 83rd Annual Delegates’ Conference

    The 83rd Annual Conference of the United African Methodist Church (UAMC) Worldwide holds at Igbogbo in Igbogbo Bayieku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State from Thursday. It will end on Sunday.

    The theme of this year’s conference is: “Divine Reward” – Isaiah 65: 22.

    The General Secretary (Administration), Bro. Ayo Bada, said about 1,000 delegates from churches under the Mission in Nigeria and Republic of Benin are expected to attend the event.

    He said the secretariat of the organisation would move to Igbogbo on Thursday, while other officers were expected to arrive on Friday for the beginning of the conference.

    Special Guest of Honour is Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

    Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Moyosore Ogunlewe, will open the conference on Friday.

    Highlights of the event are installation of archbishops and presentation of awards to deserving members on Sunday.

    Syndicate session of the conference will hold on Friday, proper conference will take place on Saturday with the communion service, while thanksgiving service and installation of archbishops will hold on Sunday.

    UAMC unfolds plans for 106 years Founders’ Day celebration

    The United African Methodist Church (UAMC) has unveiled plans for the celebration of its 106 Years Founders’ Day.

    At a news briefing held at its Cathedral Church in Ebute-Meta, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Sesan Olanrewaju, said the celebration would span 19 days, starting from November 15 to December 3 with thanksgiving in all the branches of the church in Nigeria.

    “On the 27th of this month, we will turn 106 years and we are starting the celebration with this news conference.

    “On November 17, there will be praise nights at the diocesan level, while on November 24 there will be a mega praise night at the organisation level at the Town Hall in Ikorodu, Lagos State, tagged: ‘Rejoice and Give Praise – Acts 16:25’.

    “A 12-day fasting and prayers has been set aside to hold from November 16 to 27. Each diocese will organise break of fasting online programme,” he said.

    “The highlight of the celebration will be the enthronement of a new archbishop, presentation of awards and Holy Communion service/ Love Feast, at our Cathedral Church in Ebute-Metta from 11am on November 27, which is the real Founders’ Day.

    “The Primate of the Organisation, His Eminence, the Most Rev. Joseph Adedayo Ojaoba (JP), will conduct the service,” Olanrewaju added.

  • UAMC holds 77th Conference

    The 77th Annual Conference of the United African Methodist Church (Worldwide) will hold between Sunday and Tuesday in Sagamu, Ogun State.

    The theme is Arise and Shine

    A statement by the General Secretary (Administration), Chief Bukola Payne, said over 2, 000 delegates from churches under the Mission in Nigeria and Republic of Benin are expected to attend this year’s Conference.

    Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Victor Ajayi and the Ewusi of Makun, Sagamu, Oba Timothy Oyesola are expected to grace the occasion.

    Highlight of the Conference will be the installation of the new Archbishop of the Mission, Rt. Rev. Joseph Ojaoba (JP) and the coronation thanksgiving of Oba Ajayi as the 19th Akarigbo of Remoland.

    The conference will hold on Monday followed by the Women Fellowship on Tuesday.

     

  • UAMC unveils documentary for centenary celebration

    The United African Methodist Church (UAMC) is set to unveil a documentary as part of programmes to celebrate its centenary.

    The church will clock 100 on November 27, its founder’s day

    The anniversary begins with a revival in all circuits on the 24th, special intercession across its churches on the 26th, a visit to selected charity homes and unveiling of the documentary on the 27th.

    A national Thanksgiving service on December 3 at its Oke-Arin, Lagos headquarters will climax the activities.

    A plaque engraved with the list of founding fathers, late presidents, clergy bishops among others will also be launch same day.

    The Conference Standing Committee General Secretary, Taiwo Ayeni, said the church has continued to leverage the care for members and cultural values for the growth and development of her evangelistic outreach.

    He said: “Only 65 worshippers were at the first Sunday Regular Service on 29 December, 1917 at Customs Street, Lagos, the residence of the late Prince Ademuyiwa Haastrup.

    “The Church grew tremendously with the first church auditorium at the headquarters followed by churches at Alagbado and Ebute-Meta. It was administered so well that leaders were organised to be closely knit with the members.”

    Ayeni noted that the organisation had made “noble contributions” to social system through provision of basic education, health care centres, adolescence development and continuous support for social stability through its members in key positions of authority.

     

     

     

     

  • UAMC holds 75th annual conference

    The 75th annual conference of the United African Methodist Church (UAMC) Organisation comes up in Ipakodo, Ikorodu Division. It will hold from Sunday, January 31 to Tuesday, February 2.

    The theme of the conference is: “The Year of Great Goodness’ (Nahum 1: 7).

    According to the General Secretary (Administration), Chief Bukola Payne, over 2, 000 delegates from churches under the organisation in Nigeria and Republic of Benin are expected to attend the conference.

    Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who is the special guest of honour will open the conference. Highlight of the conference is the elevation of five priests as Presbyters and consecration of a Presbyter as Bishop on Sunday, January 31.

    The conference proper will hold on Monday, February 1 while the Women Fellowship will close the conference on Tuesday, February 2 with its meeting.

    The 74th Annual Conference of the United African Methodist Church (UAMC) Organisation comes up at Ajido in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State from January 25 to 27.

    The theme of this year’s conference is: “The satisfaction of God’s blessings” (Joel 2: 26).

    The General Secretary (Administration), Chief Bukola Payne, said over 2, 000 delegates from churches under the organisation in Nigeria and Republic of Benin are expected.

    He said the secretariat would move to Ajido on January 22, and other officers are expected to arrive the following day.

    The Special Guest of Honour is Governor Babatunde Fashola.

    Highlights of the conference are the inauguration, elevation and consecration of ministers as well as installation of elders of the Ajido Circuit, on January 25.

    The conference proper will hold on January 26. The Women Fellowship will close it the next day with its meeting.

  • UAMC holds annual confab

    The 73rd Annual Conference of the United African Methodist Church (UAMC) will hold from Sunday to Tuesday at the Oyinkansola Dina UAMC on Erunwon Road in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

    The theme of the conference is: “Divine assurance of Jehovah God.

    The royal father for the conference is the Awujale of ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

    The special guest of honour is the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muyiwa Oladipo.

    Activities at the conference will include an anointing service, vigil, deliverance and installations as well as elevation of ministers.

    Over 2,000 members of the church from Nigeria and the Republic of Benin are expected at the conference, which will end on Tuesday with the women fellowship.
