Osmanlıspor striker Umar Aminu has landed in Brazil ahead of the Dream Team second Olympics Group B clash against Sweden on Sunday night.

Aminu missed Nigeria’s 5-4 win over Japan on Friday morning because of his club involvement in the Europa League qualification tie played on Thursday.

“I am now in Brazil and I arrived last night,”Aminu told allnigeriasoccer.com when asked if he has kept his promise of joining the Nigeria U23s on Friday.

The ex-Flying Eagles star will train with the team on Saturday before Coach Samson Siasia will decide whether or not to feature him against the Scandinavians.

Nigeria U-20 star Umar Aminu has told AfricanFootball.com he has yet to move to newly promoted Turkish Super League side Balikesirspor as they are yet to meet the player’s valuation by his club Samsunspor.

It was reported that the former Wikki Tourists star has joined Balikesirspor, but Aminu told AfricanFootball.com that nothing has been agreed yet.

“There is a bid right now from the said team and others, but Samsunspor are asking for one million Euros which no team have been able to match. So, I am yet to move from Samsunspor,” Aminu maintained.

He also revealed that his club have cleared the money they owe him from last season.

It is believed that Balikesirspor have tabled a bid of about 400,000 Euros, which is far short of the million Euros Samsunspor want for the player.

Earlier in the close season, another Turkish club offered 750,000 Euros for the forward, but that was also turned down.

Aminu, 19, was a big hit for Samsunspor last season, when he scored seven goals in the Turkish second division.

Nigeria U-20 star Umar Aminu has joined Turkish second division team Samsunspor.

A reliable source in Turkey told MTNFootball.com that the striker agreed to play for Samsunspor despite various other interests.

“Aminu has agreed to join Samsunspor. They will finalise the deal soonest,” the source told MTNFootball.com

Aminu, who was top scorer at the 2013 AYC and scored two goals at the FIFA World Cup in Turkey, was on the verge of joining Denilzspor, but decided to join Samsunspor.

Samsunspor President Snow said, “Nigeria U-20 player Umar Aminu has agreed on everything.

“The major problem was to get three foreign players. We have sealed the deal with the Nigeria U-20 striker Umar Aminu, we are still negotiating with Joseph Attamah, Ghana U-20 star. And we are also talking with Poland striker Marcin Robak. This is in agreement with the players to fill the quota for foreign players.”

The Samsunspor hierarchy sees the Wikki Tourists star as the new Daniel Amokachi.

A representative of the player further told MTNFootball.com: “That is where the player says he wishes to play. He has made his decision.”

Aminu is expected to sign the dotted lines this week after passing a medical.

Nigeria striker Umar Aminu has been crowned the Goal King of the 2013 African Youth Championship, which was concluded on Saturday in Oran, Algeria.

He fired a brace against DR Congo and then another double in a third-place match against Mali on Friday.

Aminu’s closest rivals for the Goal King award were Egypt’s Hamid Mahmoud and Ebenezer Assifuah, who both finished on three goals apiece after they failed to add to their tally in Saturday’s final.

MTNFootball.com reports that Flying Eagles skipper Abduljaleel Ajagun scored twice from the penalty spot.

He takes over from compatriot Uche Nwafor, who also fired four goals as Nigeria won a sixth AYC title two years ago in South Africa.
