Uti Nwachukwu reacts to BBNAIJA’s Faith’s disqualification

Media personality Uti Nwachukwu has weighed in on the altercation that led to the disqualification of Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate Faith.

According to Uti, both parties could have handled the situation better.

He argued that it’s narcissistic to label the person who triggered the conflict as a victim and the one who reacted as an abuser.

In his view, both the trigger and the reaction are equally significant, and both individuals share responsibility for the escalation.

Uti emphasised the importance of learning to respond appropriately in such situations, particularly for young adults.

He noted that their 20s are a time for growth and learning, and encourages viewers to reflect on the situation and draw valuable lessons.

Uti clarified that his analysis is based on what he witnessed live, and he’s not taking sides but rather offering a nuanced perspective on the incident.

He wrote: “Saw this and ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS FAITH. In his own words – IT TAKES TWO. Could she have acted better – YES! Could he have handled it better – YES!

“A TRIGGER is just as grave as a REACTION. it is incredibly Narcissistic to label the one who triggered/created/fueled the situation a VICTIM and then Label the one who reacted (without hitting the other) – an Abuser.

“However, the onus is on us to learn to respond appropriately. Las las we are all human and our 20s is for Adulthood learning.

“This is not defending anyone. It’s analysing what we all watched live not internet clips. Learn the lessons and dead sentiments – this is 2025 , Let’s be guided.”

  • Mixed reactions trail Uti’s Instagram comment

FOLLOWING his recent post that social media was not created for beggars, but hard working individuals, dreadlocked co-host of the entertainment show Jara, Uti Nwachukwu, has been getting mixed reactions from followers and colleagues.

Uti said on Tuesday that people have turned the social media as a platform for begging. He made it known that it should not become an issue when needs pleaded for are not met by celebrities, whose social handles have become targets.

While some were of the opinion that begging on social media is demeaning, they observed that other celebrities enjoy flaunting how they have helped people on social media, making it known to the public.

According to some observers, Uti’s fate is the reason some of them keep their social handles private, to avoid being misunderstood.

Supporting this, Nollywood actress Ufuoma Mcdermott revealed that she was also once a victim of internet scam. “@prospaochimana my brother, it is so unfair,” she wrote. “I have been scammed sef by someone who said she wanted to start egg business. When I found out, I just gave up”

Famase3rd whose handle is private, wrote: “I totally understand, this is part of the reasons my IG is private and I tried as much as possible to make my FB private too… I can relate to what celebrities are going through. I remember my mum teaching me never to beg in my life but rather work for everything I want and desire. But I don’t understand how everything has turned out for us these days. I was angry at some point that I wanted to put this on social media but I just stopped myself. What makes them think you have money you can spare baffles me. May God help us. If you have a phone and data, my dear you’re not hungry. I personally don’t like to follow comments or pages where I see so much begging, it annoys me but I think this act is encouraged by the so called “celebs” who instead of sending a DM of help codedly or’ send me your account number they post it openly just to gain more followers hence encouraging more and even more scamming beggars. Na only @tokemakinwa dey do that thing wey I still dey follow. Others na to unfollow immediately because with time their pages becomes so boring/annoying @siruti biko talk to your colleagues it’s either they enjoy/encourage or gain something from their instabeggers.”

iam_chinny1, is also of the same opinion. “@siruti why would you help someone and share on SM? It will definitely attract others whether in need or not to you. That’s the problem of some celebs. I know of some celebs that have never posted one thing they’ve done for someone before but that doesn’t mean they don’t help people secretly. When this happens Instagram will be in fact totally void of these begging.

Sharing the experience of begging in Dubai and bringing a God angle to the discussion, Doctoradaeze wrote: “Begging has become a profession.  Even in Dubai, begging is the new entrepreneurial part time job and beggars earn higher than bankers here…it’s a crime though,  but most don’t really care.  It’s an embarrassing thing to do, and very shameful too, though God loves a cheerful giver but ‘am not sure he loves people who beg. Everyone should find something to do even if it means cleaning someone’s apartment and getting paid for doing so, it can become a cleaning company in no time…

“Whatever we submit to God can be increased and can turn out to become an empire, we just need to begin from what we have. Most people say I have nothing, that’s a lie, you have something because God’s DNA cannot be empty…You were created with God’s image and he turned this whole earth with the power of positivity…by just saying the word. Wake up and command a word to your destiny, tell your destiny to arise and become a giver and not a beggar.

“As a student, you can start by going from door to door even in your neighbourhood. Search for cleaning jobs to do, get money and get a license for it, come on Instagram and tag your cleaning company even without a store or an office, create an online store and rather than beg celebrities for alms, beg them to promote you, advertise your cleaning company online and get creative. Ask for the master multiplayer Jesus to establish your business for you and expand it, believe in it and keep pushing. Everyone will definitely get there someday.  Just believe in your potentials.”

  • Uti Nwachukwu rises to Cee-C’s defence

The 2010 winner of the now rested Big Brother Africa reality show, Uti Nwachukwu, has posited that the road to self-control is often a horrid one. He was weighing in on BBNaija contestant, Cee-C’s Wednesday outburst.

While admitting that there is no excuse for her behaviour he acknowledged that CeeC has flaws and weaknesses noting that she shouldn’t be judged by them.

Recounting his days as a two-time contestant at the now rested Big Brother Africa reality show, Uti said that during his first outing in 2008, he was extremely brash. However, on his return in 2010, he came back a lot better.

“Even after winning, my temper was still at dangerous levels and I knew there was a problem. Does this mean that I was a Bad horrible person? HECK NO! I grew and i am still growing! Most of us that wear our emotions on our sleeves find it hard to conceal Love, Loyalty, Excitement and of corse the worst emotion-RAGE! No one is perfect! Again, I am NOT JUSTIFYING HER BEHAVIOUR FROM YESTERDAY. No matter the poking or deliberate provocation, No one should react that way in public or in private.. BUT THIS CAN ONLY BE LEARNED THROUGH EXPERIENCE,” he wrote.

According to Uti, although we try to be better versions of ourselves daily but during this process sadly, we might still fall.

“The ability to rise is what makes us victors. Cee C we see you struggling to do better and in the process you fell..its all part of the process.its UR JOURNEY.. What saddens me more is the trolling/insults.A lot of u say she needs psychological help.so is this how u treat someone that needs help? With abuses/ridicule? COME ON!! WE CAN DO BETTER. FROWN UPON IT BUT DONT TROLL!! Its dehumanizing.Temper justice with mercy.Dont act like what you have been condemning,” Uti adds.

On her behalf, he also pleaded for understanding, forgiveness and mercy, especially seeing as she has apologised.

  • Film One boss lauds ‘geeks meet nollywood’ initiative

Kene Mkparu, Managing Director, Film One Distribution, has commended the technology investors from overseas and Nollywood for engaging in “geek meet nollywood”, aimed to network and explore greater connections between both ecosystems.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event which took place at Film-House, Lekki, Lagos, brought Silicon Valley technology investors, who are currently transforming the global film industry together with Nollywood’s finest creative and way-makers.

The geeks were hosted in a series of curated events to celebrate Nigeria’s entrepreneurial talent, highlight disruptive technologies and showcase investment opportunities.

“We need to understand the aim of why these Silicon Valley investors are coming; they are investors, primarily investors.

“They are Venture Capital Company, they are people that look out for great ideas, and then put money behind the great ideas.

“So, it’s a great thing that they’ve come to Africa, come to Nigeria to look at opportunities in Nollywood and look at opportunities in the entire Nigeria film Industry.

“It’s up to us to show them the opportunities, and then they can bring their money,” said Mkparu.

He added: “We shouldn’t be saying to them, come and help us to solve our problem. No, we should be saying, here is our idea to solve our problem.

“I have the idea, I don’t have a lot of capital, then they will put capital and we will work together in partnership and make things happen; that is my excitement about what is happening here”.

Popular Actor, Uti Nwachukwu, also lauded the international E-Commerce sector for coming to develop and invest in the entertainment sector, especially Nollywood.

“I’m already a professional actor, but I will be sponsored to fine tune my skills overseas to make sure I come out at the top with regards to my acting skills.

“It is an amazing experience; you would think you know a lot of thinks but when you go to some of the people that started this business, you will be amazed.

“I have a lot to learn, it is mind blowing, it is a rich experience for me, and it is one I’m not going to forget in a hurry,” he said.

Nwachukwu said that he learnt everything about character interpretation, execution, understanding one’s scene, how to react to everything that is on your script.

He added that he also learnt that every word meant something and about movie making in general.

“The African region is definitely of interest to 500 Startups as we continue to look for and source deals from traditionally underrepresented ecosystems.

“While we invest 70 per cent in the U.S., 30 per cent of our deals are spread across 60 different countries currently.

“Through Geeks on a Plane we are looking to build stronger relationships with investors on the ground, maybe even find a few startups to invest in and have a lot of fun with local nerds,’’ said Dave McClure, Founding Partner at 500 Startups.

Another Investor, Maya Horgan-Famodu, founder of “Ingressive” also said: “We are excited to host in Nigeria.

“We hope to facilitate these relationships further and showcase high quality Nigerian startups to international tech experts and investors.

“Trips like these open doors and change businesses in ecosystems,” she said.

NAN reports that from Lagos, the Geeks will travel to Accra, Ghana, where they will meet with business leaders, attend conferences, visit co-working spaces and share venture creation ideas with key ecosystem leaders and investors.

And the tour will also move on to South Africa where they will interact with innovation actors in Johannesburg and Capetown who have blazed the trail and led entrepreneurial activities in Southern Africa.

  • Akin Lewis, Uti Nwachukwu, Lisa Omorodion dazzle in ‘Whose Meal Ticket’

Akin Lewis, Uti Nwachukwu, Lisa Omorodion dazzle in ‘Whose Meal Ticket’

Award-wining Nollywood actress, writer and producer, Grace Edwin-Okon  is out with another thought-provoking flick, ‘Whose Meal Ticket’, starring industry’s best such as Akin Lewis, Ngozi Nwosu, Uti Nwachukwu, Shaffi Bello, Lisa Omorodion, Tana Adelana, Femi Durojaiye and Iyke Nnabuife among others.

Grace has come of age in the production of ‘edutainment’ flicks, through which she mirrors the society’s different strokes.

In ‘Whose Meal Ticket’, Lisa Philips (Lisa Omorodion) is hell bent on regaining her family’s lost glory, encouraged by her mother, Mrs Philips (Ngozi Nwosu), with advice of devious wiles and strategies of using what she has to get what she wants.

This is just as Mrs. Disu (Shaffy Bello), wife of the rich and influential Lagos socialite Chief Disu (Akin Lewis) battles diabetes. Testing her blood sugar level daily is painful, effortful and potentially damaging. However, in ‘Whose Meal Ticket’, she does it with ease that dispels the phobia for diabetes, proving that you can suffer symptoms like frequent thirst, frequent urination, slow healing wounds, mood swings and fatigue associated with diabetes and still grasp life with zest.

Life would have been ‘hunky-dory’ with the Disus until Lisa’s push into them opens the curtain to social issues like neglect, jealousy, conspiracy, connivances and duplicity that often plagues the rich.

On the other hand, Chief Dish, a father of two has been grooming his more promising son – Taiwo (Iyke Nnabuife) – to take over the helms of his fast growing conglomerate while  Kehinde ( Uti Nwachukwu) – the ‘black sheep’ of the family couldn’t care a hoot whether Taiwo is ‘making waves’ within the family business.

Grace is known for thematic movies such as “Heavy Beauty” a feature-length film which she produced in 2012, followed by  short films like ‘Sister’s keeper’, ‘A Fool’s Tale’, ‘Oblivious’ and ‘The Deadwood’, an award-winning documentary drama ( AMVCA best documentary);  ‘The Maid’, an autism awareness infomercial; ‘Tunnel’, a feature film for Parables Entertainment; ‘Sting’, a feature film for 7th Media Productions and ‘Kpians’, a horror flick for Mighty Jot Studios.

My Breathless Experience – Uti Nwachukwu

Star actor, Uti Nwachukwu, has disclosed that he enjoyed every moment he spent on locations shooting the soon-to-be released movie, Breathless.

The ex-Big Brother Africa winner and Jara co-anchor said he chose to feature in the movie because of its remarkable storyline and the brains behind it.

Breathless has already earned nominations at two prestigious African movie awards. Through Mike Ezuruonye’s role, it got a nomination for Best Actor Drama (TV/Series) at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), while Nwachukwu, was nominated for the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

”I like to keep a reputation that when people see me in a movie, they will just have an instant feeling that it’s worth it,” said Nwachukwu.

“So I am very selective to give my fans the best. From the first day I saw the script, I fell in love with it. I love scripts that are not conventional; Breathless is in that class.”

The actor added that he was thrilled when he saw the cast and crew of the movie.

Breathless, which also stars Bimbo Manuel, Mike Ezuruonye, Brycee Bassey, Bobby Michaels and John Njamah, tells a story of the murder of an asthmatic lady in the beach house of her boss. The incident sets off a series of events, which blows the lid off dark and well-hidden secrets of the Okpodu, his two feuding sons and their link to the murder victim. The movie climaxes when it exposes the messy secrets.

Don’t judge celebrity break-ups, says Uti Nwachukwu

Teebillz and Tiwa’s, break-up seem to be getting mix feeling from different her fans, families, friends, and colleagues.

Though the mother of one have come out to the public to share her mentally abused relationship with reasons behind her action, one of her colleagues, who feels the couple should be given breathing space to sort out their problem is actor, model and presenter Uti Nwachukwu, who took to his social page to give a lengthy talk on why celebrities should be allowed space.

“The insensitivity, hypocrisy and downright judgmental attitude displayed about the Teebillz and Tiwa issue is utterly disgusting and extremely heart wrenching,” say Uti.

“First of I’ve overheard and read comments from different people having the audacity to actually Choose sides!!! Wow! Who made you Judge and Jury? This is a Holy Matrimony we are talking about here. And you open up your mouths and say whatever you deem worthy to spill out? ‘Oh Teebillz did and shouldn’t do this. Tiwa did this and shouldn’t do that. Bla bla Blaa!!!

Uti who revealed he was a neighbour and close friend of Teebillz and Tiwa in 1004 Estates, Victoria Island, Lagos since 2011, then said people commenting could find themselves in the same shoes.

So hold your peace and discuss behind closed doors and air your opinions in the privacy of your spaces. Be sensitive.”

Also not left out is Helen Paul who described herself as a ‘strong feminist’ and urged Tiwa Savage to remain strong and steadfast.

“I pray that our joy ones from every corner now in Jesus’ name.

“Strong lady, I love you through it all. The storms may rage and our ships may rock sometimes, but as long as God is the captain of the ship, He will steer it in the right direction and we will arrive safely at our destinations. Be strong and be of good cheer @tiwasavage.”
