    Afrobeats star, Anthony Ebuka Victor aka Victony is gearing up to thrill fans at a special year-end concert tagged ‘The Bonfire Experience’.

    The highly anticipated is scheduled to take place on December 21 at the Glitz Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos.

    The show will bring Victony face-to-face with the loyal supporters who have fueled his rise in the music industry.

    According to the artist, the concert will serve as a powerful moment of connection to celebrate his journey with friends and fans  who have been instrumental to his success.

    Victony began his career in 2016 as a SoundCloud rapper, sharing freestyles and mixes that quickly earned attention. His debut studio album, ‘Saturn’ arrived in August 2020, followed by the breakthrough single ‘Ina Benz’, which marked his official entry into mainstream music.

    His star rose even higher in 2022 with the viral hit ‘Soweto’, featuring Tempoe. The track dominated TikTok and spawned a successful remix with Rema and Don Toliver, charting across the UK, Netherlands, Switzerland and Canada.

    In June 2024, Victony solidified his artistry with his sophomore album, ‘Stubborn’. The project, praised for its lyrical depth and sonic maturity, delves into themes of love, resilience, and self-identity.

    Parents supported my career after car accident in 2021 – Victony

    Afrobeats singer Victony has opened up  on how a life-altering car accident in 2021 not only changed his perspective but also that of his parents. 

    In an interview on Behind the Prestige podcast, Victony said his parents initially had reservations about his music career, encouraging him to focus on education and pursue engineering instead. 

    However, the massive public support he received after the accident made them realise the impact his music had on people.

    “My parents were not cool with me doing music from the jump. They didn’t tell me to stop, but they weren’t 100% supportive of it,” he said.

    “They hoped I’d finish school and become an engineer.

    “But when I had my accident in 2021 and they saw how much impact I had on people, how people on social media were posting things like ‘pray for Victony’, they realised my music career meant a lot to me and just let me do what I wanted.”

    Victony’s rise to fame began with his collaboration with Mayorkun on the hit track “Holy Father”, followed by successful singles like “Soweto”.

    Afrobeats singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, popularly known as Victony, has admitted that he has never performed on stage without consuming alcohol. 

    During a conversation with Behind The Prestige, the 24-year-old artist, said it is a habit he now aims to change during his ongoing Stubborn tour.

    Victony expressed his desire to perform sober to forge a deeper, clearer connection with his fans, describing the shift as a “big challenge” but one he’s eager to embrace for a more authentic experience.

    His ‘Stubborn’ tour, supporting his sophomore album released in June 2024, has garnered attention for its high-energy performances across cities like New York, Toronto, and London and by choosing sobriety, Victony aims to redefine his stage presence and connect more meaningfully with his audience.

    He said, “I’m trying to do this tour so sober. It’s a big challenge. I have never been on stage without taking alcohol. But [for this tour], I’m trying to see my fans clearly and truly connect with them. I just want to try”.

    Afrobeat singer Victony has revealed that his parents only began to recognise his commitment to music after a car accident in 2021 left him in a coma for four days.

    He explained that, for his family, music was just a hobby, especially since he had always excelled academically.

    According to him, his passion for music deepened when he started university.

    He said the turning point came after the accident, as his parents saw the overwhelming support from the music community during his recovery.

    He added that the incident made them realize how much he had grown in his music career, and they eventually gave their blessings for him to pursue it.

    Victony shared these insights during a recent interview on Sway’s Universe.

    “I used to do music as a hobby and everybody knew that I loved music but they didn’t think I was going to take it seriously. I was good at school so they never bothered about it and they never thought it would distract me from my education but when I got into the university, that was when I started to take it seriously

    “They didn’t know I was taking it seriously until after the accident. When the accident happened, a lot of people came to the hospital and they wondered how it was possible. They soon began to realise that I had a community that was growing already and they gave me their blessings from that point”, he said.

    Singer Victony whose real name is Anthony Ebuka Victor has revealed that his hit song ‘Soweto’ was a game-changer for his career.

    In an interview with Sound City, he stated: “Soweto changed my life. It changed my life in the sense that I was able to travel to places I didn’t believe that I would get to in a very short time.”

    The song’s success in late 2022 led to a remix featuring Don Toliver and Rema in 2023, which helped maintain its momentum.

    Victony noted that the featured artists’ sounds aligned with the original song’s style.

    “The song was already successful in late 2022, and in 2023, we wanted to maintain that success so we employed Don Toliver and Rema on the remix. They’re very big names and their sounds are not far from what ‘Soweto’ sounds like”, he said.

    Victony also said that he is currently an independent artist, having taken control of his music career.

    Singer Victony has shared his remarkable journey of recovery after a devastating car accident in 2021 left him in a coma for four days.

    In an interview at the Afroland festival on the Adesope live segment, Victony revealed that he has undergone four surgeries and has another one scheduled after his upcoming tour.

    Despite still being in the recovery phase, Victony expressed his gratitude for his progress, saying, “I’m blessed and the whole world can see that I’m blessed.”

    He acknowledged the challenges he faced, from being unable to walk to now performing energetically on stage.

    Victony humbly attributed his recovery to God’s grace, stating that he takes pain relievers before performances and recordings, highlighting his determination to continue doing what he loves despite the ongoing medical journey.

    He said: “Honestly, I am blessed and the whole world can see that I’m blessed. I’m still in the recovery phase but I’m still able to do this now; I’m about to go on tour.

    “Thinking about last year, even up until recently, I’ve done four surgeries and after the tour, I’m still going to do one more. But it’s still a blessing, you know? Going to the hospital and seeing other people there but I go in and out and do my thing. I take pain relievers before I go on stage and I still record. I feel blessed and I thank God for his grace; it’s not by power. I’m not his favourite child so I don’t know why he’s blessing me.”

    Singer Victony has attributed his success in the music industry to organic growth fuelled by his genuine connection with fans.

    In an interview with HIP TV, Victony reflected on his unconventional journey to fame, highlighting the importance of authenticity in building a loyal fan base.

     “My success so far in the industry has been very interesting in the sense that I’ve been going in a very unconventional manner. It’s just basically me and my fans, finding a way to communicate with my fans and just telling them, ‘Look, I have this product; help me push it.’”

    Victony stressed that his success is best described as organic because his story authentically resonated with people.

    “Looking at where I am today using that method, I feel like one word that would truly describe my success would be ‘organic’, because at no point was anything forced. I’ve just been telling my story and people who like it or resonate with what I’m saying have just kept on buying into it and it’s been expanding,” he explained.

    Victony also emphasised the uniqueness of his sound and style, which sets him apart from other artists.

    He said: “It’s a number of things, to be honest. One is my sound which is unique to me and which I have established. My taste is different, I guess, because you would see me wearing things I don’t think other artists would put on.”

    Afrobeats singer Victony has shared a painful experience from his past, revealing how he was left feeling “mad” and “stupid” after discovering his ex-girlfriend’s infidelity.

    In an appearance on the “Is This Seat Taken?” podcast hosted by Chinasa Anukam, the 23-year-old singer recounted how his ex-girlfriend lied about her relationship with another man, initially introducing him as just a friend.

    Victony explained that he was aware of the man’s presence in her life, but trusted her words until he eventually uncovered the truth. 

    The singer said: “She [my ex-girlfriend] was talking to this other guy and I was aware. She was telling me about this other guy. Me, very open-minded, I was like, this guy was just her friend.

    “She told me he was her friend but his name just always came up. And I will be like, what kind of friend is this one?

    “At the end of the day, it turned out he was not her friend. That was very mad because when I realised everything that was going on, I felt very stupid.”
