Louis Saha wants Nigerian ace in man United

Nigeria International striker  Victor Osimhen can now leave  Napoli permanently  in the forthcoming January Transfer Windows after the Italian Serie A side  reportedly backed down  on  his release clause to €90m (about N167,699,629,800.00).

Osimhen missed moving to top European clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester  United as the English Premier League sides  refused to meet the humongous €130m (about N242,076,133,390.00) release  clause by Napoli.

The 25-year-old striker  is now  on  loan to Galatasaray until the end of the 2024–25 season after negotiations with Al-Ahli, Chelsea, and PSG  reportedly collapsed during the summer transfer window.

Galatasaray’s  vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu said recently that  Osimhen was happy  in Turkey, hence  he won’t leave to any club in January .

Osimhen extended his Napoli contract until June 2027 before leaving the club on a temporary transfer to Galatasaray  and his release clause was lowered to €75m from €130m.

But  there are  fresh speculations that  Osimhen  can move elsewhere  in January, as RAI Sport  claimed there is another clause in  his contract stipulating that his release clause for the upcoming winter transfer window will be €90 million, specifically for clubs outside Serie A

“Osimhen’s immediate future remains uncertain – in January, any club outside Italy can buy out his contract by paying around €90 million. Next summer, the amount is likely to be even lower – I don’t think that after his performances in Turkey, even if Victor gains recognition at Galatasaray, his transfer value will increase,” RAI Sport expert Ciro Venerato was quoted as saying.

In a related development, former  French  international  and Manchester United striker, Louis Saha, believes  Osimhen  has the  scoring credentials  to lift  the gloom  at the Old Trafford,  adding that the Nigerian could provide a huge boost to the club’s chances of getting back to the top again

“It would be a difficult signing to make, but I think he is exactly the type of player that Manchester United need – and that is a striker like Victor Osimhen,”  Saha told cryptocasinosuk.net.

He added: “I don’t know if it’s a realistic option, because he is on loan at Galatasaray, but if you’re talking about a proven goal scorer with pedigree, he is the man. He would instantly improve the team.

“If you signed Osimhen, you’re not signing potential. You know exactly what he is going to give you. A striker like Osimhen is exactly the kind of signing that Manchester United need to make. If it takes a lot of money, and it will to sign Osimhen, you go and do it.”

Osimhen scored his first two goals for Galatasaray  last Saturday in a 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa.

Osimhen, the 2022-23 Serie A best scorer, netted 76 goals in 133 games with Napoli.

Osimhen’s deal most difficult of my career, says Ex-Napoli Chief

Former Napoli sporting director Cristiano Guintoli has said signing Victor Osimhen was the most difficult deal in his career.

The 25-year-old joined Napoli from Ligue 1 club, Lille in 2020, with Guintoli, who is now at Juventus facilitating the move.

Guintoli revealed it took him four months to bring the Nigeria international to Napoli.

When Corriere della Sera asked Giuntoli, now at Juventus, what was the most difficult deal in his career, he replied: “Perhaps Victor [Osimhen]. It took me four months to bring him to Napoli.”

The powerful striker joined Galatasaray on loan until the end of the season earlier this month when his release clause at the Stadio Maradona was lowered from €130m to €75m.

“Maybe he should have been sold earlier, but Aurelio [De Laurentiis, Napoli President] is a wise and intelligent businessman. I owe him so much, and I love him,” Giuntoli stated.

‘Energized’ Osimhen pledges more passion for Galatasaray

Victor Osimhen has promised Galatasaray fans a lot more energy and passion after he made a winning debut against Rizespor.

The Super Eagles striker, who is on loan from Napoli, was credited with an assist for Galatasaray second goal in a 5-0 mauling of Rizespor Saturday night.

“I am happy with my performance. I want to continue to work hard and give my best to Galatasaray,” he declared after he showed great attitude both on and off the pitch.

“This game was an experiment for me. The next game will be much, much better.”

He enjoyed an instant connection with the highly partisan ‘Gala’ fans, jumping into the stands to celebrate with the Ultras after the resounding home victory.

Fans sported his now famous face mask at the stadium and experts were on TV to commend the positive energy he brought to the game.

Osimhen then took to Instagram to thank the fans for the warm welcome he got, again promising more energy and passion to lift the Istanbul giants to their targets.

Next Saturday, they will do battle against bitter rivals Fenerbahce in ‘The Intercontinental Derby’ in what will be Jose Mourinho against Osimhen.

Victor Osimhen got off to a winning start for Galatasaray as they smashed past visiting Rizespor 5-0 in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Napoli striker on loan to ‘Gala’ was even widely credited with the second goal, but repeated TV replays showed he did not have a touch to the free kick in the 26th minute.

Otherwise, he enjoyed a decent debut.

He saw his header in the 15th minute off a cross by Dries Mertens miss target narrowly.

In the 42nd minute, the striker failed to get a good connection to the ball inside the box.

He was then denied his debut goal in the 77th minute by the Rizespor goalkeeper. Osimhen played the entire duration.

  • Osimhen’s Galatasaray squad number excites Balotelli

Osimhen’s Galatasaray squad number excites Balotelli

Italian striker Mario Balotelli seems delighted that Victor Osimhen has picked the No. 45 at Galatasaray following a loan move from Napoli.

Osimhen has joined Galatasaray on a dry loan deal from Napoli and extended his contract with the Partenopei until 2027 before signing for Gala.

The Nigeria international has picked the squad No. 45 at his new club. It’s a familiar number for Italian striker Balotelli, who promptly reacted on social media.

Balotelli liked the Instagram post showing Osimhen with his new shirt and commented on it with a fire emoji.

The 34-year-old striker wore the No. 45 at many clubs in his career, including Inter, Liverpool, Manchester City, Milan, Brescia, Monza and Adana Demirspor, the last team he played for.

Balotelli is currently without a club but there are rumours that he may join Serie B side Palermo on a free transfer. The former Inter and Milan striker has scored 52 goals in 141 Serie A matches.

In a related development, Sky Sport Italia  has clarified that Napoli will not pay Victor Osimhen a penny of his salary during his one-season loan at Galatasaray.

Osimhen officially joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli on Wednesday after talks with PSG, Chelsea, and Al-Ahli had collapsed during the 2024 summer transfer window.

Galatasaray announced that they’d be paying just €6m from the striker’s €10m-a-year wage during the 2024-25 campaign, but according to Sky Sport, the Partenopei won’t cover the outstanding sum.

The Serie A giants are committed to paying Osimhen’s wages for July and August, which he spent at the club, but they will not pay him a penny of his salary until the end of the season.

This means that Osimhen has practically taken a pay cut to leave the Partenopei after being frozen out of the team.

Osimhen scored 76 goals in 133 appearances with the Partenopei. He extended his contract at the Stadio Maradona until 2027 before leaving the club on loan.

Osimhen stays at Napoli as transfer talks with Chelsea collapse

Victor Osimhen has seen a move to Chelsea break down on deadline day, according to reports.

According to Fabrice Hawkins, Osimhen’s proposed move to Chelsea has fallen through. The Nigeria international had been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge on deadline day but the parties were unable to reach an agreement, leaving the 25-year-old in limbo.

Hawkins adds that Osimhen will stay in Naples unless the Serie A club receive a “huge” bid for him from Saudi Arabia before Monday.

According to Sky Sports, Osimhen was asking for a wage package worth over £300,000-a-week. Chelsea were reportedly ready to continue talks with the striker but their approach went unanswered, leaving the Blues to consider the deal off.

There must be a feeling of relief at Chelsea that the summer transfer window is finally over and Maresca can focus on the squad at his disposal. The Blues take on Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

  • Chelsea push loan-deal for Osimhen

    Chelsea push loan-deal for Osimhen

Chelsea has reported reinitiated discussions for a loan deal to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, reports London Evening Standard.

Osimhen is now a top priority for Chelsea as they seek a new number nine to bolster their attacking lineup.

Although Osimhen prefers a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea hopes to persuade him to join the team at Stamford Bridge. Osimhen has recently turned down an offer from Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, with his agent stating that the 25-year-old has “much to achieve in Europe” before considering a move abroad.

Chelsea’s pursuit of Osimhen indicates their desire to strengthen their squad for a competitive season ahead. With Osimhen’s impressive goal-scoring record, he would be a valuable addition to Chelsea’s lineup, providing a strong attacking threat.

Meanwhile, PSG  may yet be busy in the final days of the current transfer window.

With Milan Skriniar all set to move to Saudi Arabia, just one year after joining PSG, a centre-back could yet arrive between now and the transfer deadline in four days.  However, as reported by Le Parisien, two players aren’t expected to arrive at the Parc des Princes: Victor Osimhen and Jadon Sancho.

PSG informed the latter’s representatives last week that they wouldn’t be taking their interest any further, at least not during the current window.

Osimhen was a more concrete target earlier in the window, with the Nigerian forward reportedly keen to make the move to the Parc des Princes.

It was thought that Gonçalo Ramos’ injury, which is set to rule him out for several months, would see the interest in Osimhen reignited, but not so.

Despite that injury, PSG did not reignite their interest and there was no further contact with the Napoli forward, who still remains a target for Chelsea.

  • SUMMER TRANSFERS: Osimhen tops list of players  to move before deadline

SUMMER TRANSFERS: Osimhen tops list of players  to move before deadline

The summer transfer window will close on Friday, Aug. 30 and the clock is ticking for several high-profile stars whose future remains uncertain.

Finding a new team can be tricky, for the player and for the clubs trying to arrange a deal, due to contractual issues, wage demands and transfer fees. But the pressure is on to get things over the line in the week ahead. So who are the top players in Europe looking for a new team before the window closes? And whom could they join?

    Victor Osimhen (Napoli)

Chelsea are frontrunners to sign Osimhen, but only if Napoli are prepared to accept a season-long loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent next summer. PSG retain an interest in Osimhen, and, although coach Luis Enrique said at the weekend that a long-term ankle injury to Gonçalo Ramos won’t force the Ligue 1 side into a move, the club have yet to replace Kylian Mbappe following his move to Real Madrid.

With Napoli still holding out for a club to trigger Osimhen’s £113m release clause, a move for the 25-year-old Nigeria international looks unlikely at this stage. But with Napoli missing out on European football this season, a creative offer from Chelsea or PSG this week could be the key that unlocks a deal.

    Raheem Sterling (Chelsea)

New Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has told Sterling he has no first-team future at Stamford Bridge and can leave the club this month. But finding a new team will be easier said than done due to the 29-year-old still having three years left to run on a £300,000-a-week contract.

Having signed Sterling from Manchester City for £47.5 million two years ago, the only feasible option for Chelsea to get anywhere close to their money back for the former England winger would be to let him join a Saudi Arabian club. But Sterling has already ruled out a move to the Saudi Pro League due to his family being settled in London.

Juventus and Aston Villa have shown some interest, but Sterling’s wages and transfer fee are likely to rule out a permanent deal. A loan move seems the only realistic option, but Chelsea are unlikely to find a club prepared to take on the entirety of his salary.

    Jadon Sancho (Man United)

Both United and Sancho have salvaged a bad situation with a summer rapprochement following a season-long stand-off between the winger and manager Erik ten Hag last year that resulted in the player spending six months on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

But although Ten Hag and Sancho have called a truce that has seen the 24-year-old restored to the first-team squad, United are prepared to offload the player this month after paying £73 million to Dortmund for his services in 2021.

Sancho’s form for Dortmund last season, when he helped the Bundesliga team reach the Champions League final, has created some interest, and Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are possible destinations.

United want to seal a permanent transfer for Sancho rather than another loan move, but they are facing a significant financial hit to encourage another club to pay a fee and also take on the player’s £250,000-a-week wages.

    Ivan Toney ( Brentford)

Saudi Pro League team Al Ahli have made a lucrative offer to Toney but have yet to match Brentford’s £50m asking price for the 28-year-old’s services.

With Toney out of contract at the end of the season, Brentford need to do a deal during this window to avoid losing him for nothing, or for a fraction of his value in January. But while the club are keen to seal a transfer before the end of the month, Toney is considering whether to see out his contract and move as a free agent

Having helped England reach the Euro 2024 final this summer, Toney knows that a move to Saudi Arabia could damage his hopes of playing at the 2026 World Cup. Previous interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United has not progressed this summer, but if Toney delays a move, he could take his pick of some leading clubs in 2025. He must now consider whether the money on offer in Saudi is just too good to turn down.

    Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace)

Newcastle have made four unsuccessful offers to sign the Crystal Palace defender, and the club are now considering whether to make a fifth bid. Palace chairman Steve Parish said earlier this month that any club wanting to sign the England defender would have to offer “superstar money” to persuade the Selhurst Park board to offload the 24-year-old.

Indeed, Palace are holding out for £70m for Guéhi, and now Newcastle might be forced to offload players of their own to free up finances. And with England full-back Kieran Trippier seeking a move away from St James’ Park — Everton are keen on the 33-year-old — another bid for Guéhi could happen if Trippier moves on.

    Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton)

Manchester United made two unsuccessful bids to sign the Everton centre-back earlier this summer before moving their sights elsewhere due to a £20m gap in valuations between the two clubs. But although United have added Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt and Lille youngster Leny Yoro to their squad since backing out of a move for Branthwaite, Everton’s precarious financial situation has left the player’s future in the air. Everton value Branthwaite’s transfer at £70m, but former club Carlisle United are entitled to 15% of any future transfer fee, having negotiated that clause when the youngster moved to Everton for £1m in 2020.

    Scott McTominay (Man United)

McTominay’s situation at United is key to the club’s transfer strategy during the final week of the window. Fulham and Napoli are both attempting to sign the Scotland midfielder, with United holding out for a fee of at least £25m for the 27-year-old. If United are able to offload McTominay, his status as a home-grown player would enable the club to log any fee as pure profit in their accounts and significantly boost their ability to reinvest the money on new signings.

Ten Hag has said that he is happy for McTominay to remain at Old Trafford as a squad player, but with his contract due to expire next summer, United need to cash in now and might yet lower their valuation to make a deal happen.

Fenerbahce  manager Jose Mourinho, who gave McTominay his United debut, is keen, but that fee would rule out a move unless United lower their demands.

    Manuel Ugarte(Paris Saint-Germain)

The PSG midfielder has been a long-standing target for United, but the uncertainty surrounding McTominay’s future has left any deal for the Uruguay international on ice. Having signed the 23-year-old from Sporting CP in a £51m deal last summer, PSG want to recoup their outlay, but United are reluctant to make such a big offer.

A loan deal, with an obligation for a permanent transfer next summer, is the likeliest option, but United would be in a position to make a permanent deal in this window if they can offload McTominay.

There is still the prospect of McTominay staying and Ugarte signing on loan, but United’s preference is to get one out before getting one in.

    Frenkie de Jong (Barcelona)

De Jong is United’s Plan B if they are unable to make a deal happen for Ugarte, but they have already discovered that luring the Netherlands international from Camp Nou is a tough task. Ten Hag wanted the former Ajax midfielder to be his first signing at Old Trafford two years ago, but a protracted summer saga ended with the player opting to stay in Spain.

De Jong is happy to remain at Barcelona, but the club’s financial problems, which forced them to allow Ilkay Gündogan to return to Manchester City for free this week, mean further high-profile exits could happen in the final week of the window.

De Jong won’t push to move, but if United fail to land Ugarte, they could test Barcelona’s resolve with a late £50m move for the 27-year-old. He is currently injured and could miss at least another few months.

    Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)

The chances of Alexander-Arnold leaving Liverpool over the next week are minimal but not impossible due to his contractual situation. The 25-year-old’s deal expires next June, and he has yet to negotiate an extension. That has left Liverpool facing the prospect of the England international being able to speak to non-Premier League clubs about a summer free transfer on Jan. 1.

Real Madrid have a long-standing interest in him and would be prepared to wait until he enters free agent status, but could Liverpool risk losing such a valuable player for nothing?

If Alexander-Arnold gives any indication that he will not sign a new contract, Liverpool could be forced to offload him now simply to ensure they receive a fee.

Osimhen rejects Napoli’s 7m Euros salary cut

Victor Osimhen has rejected a huge pay cut by Napoli and a new contract as his transfer saga remains unending with a week to the close of the window.

Despite the rumours, there has been no concrete offer for the Super Eagles striker with suggestions that he may end up staying put at Napoli.

Commentator Massimo Sparnelli revealed that Napoli proposed a pay cut, an extension of his contract until 2030, and make him the face of the Italian.

Osimhen is currently on over 10m Euros a year and his contract will run out in June 2026.

Napoli want him to agree to a lower salary of between 6m and 7m Euros a year.

“The player refused,” Sparnelli revealed to CalcioNapoli24.

“I can assure you that De Laurentiis made these proposals to him while promising to make the face of Napoli, but Osimhen refused.”
