Chief Executive Officer, EnterpriseNGR, Obi Ibekwe has been appointed to the board of the World Alliance of International Financial Centres (WAIFC) at the organisation’s Annual General Meeting last week in New York, United States.
WAIFC is a global network of leading financial centres, dedicated to promoting cooperation among its members.
Earlier in April, EnterpriseNGR launched Nigeria on the global financial ecosystem when it became a member of WAIFC – a remarkable achievement.
By aligning with international best practices and connecting with financial centres around the world,EnterpriseNGR is expanding its global network, and contributing to the growth and development of its members and the economy.
Ibekwe thanked the WAIFC Board for the opportunity to contribute to the success of WAIFC.
She stated: “Nigeria’s FPS sector is on track to position the country as Africa’s premier international financial center by creating an enabling environment for its FPS sector.

Obi has extensive corporate level experience spanning over two decades and across various subsectors of the financial and professional services space.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, U.S., an MBA from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, U.S., and a Law degree from the University of Lagos. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1986.
