  • NiMet predicts cloudy, dust haze weather for Tuesday

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency ( NiMet ) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the Central States of the country on Thursday morning.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 38 and 19 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

    It added that increased in cloudiness was anticipated over most part of the cities with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over the high ground areas like parts of Abuja, Jos and Ilorin later in the day.

    The agency predicted that the southern States would experience cloudy skies with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Ikom, in the morning.

    It also predicted chances of isolated thunderstorms over most parts during the afternoon and evening hour with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 37 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Northern States will experience dust haze conditions over the north eastern cities with chances of partly cloudy conditions over the northwest throughout the forecast period.

    “Northern States are expected to experience day and night temperature values in the range of 37 to 41 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “Dust haze conditions are expected over the North-East while mostly cloudy skies are anticipated over central cities down to the southern cities.

    “There are possibilities of isolated thunderstorms over the southern states and some parts of the central cities within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    NiMet predicts dust haze, partly cloudy weather on Friday

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze weather conditions over the central states of the country, especially Abuja, Zaria, Jos, Bida, Minna and Lafia on Friday.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday stated
    that the region would have visibility values within the range of two to five kilometers and less than 1000m.

    It added that the region would have day and night temperatures of 28 to 34 degrees Celsius and 14 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience partly cloudy conditions, with chances of localised thunderstorms over Akure, Oshogbo and Lagos in the morning hours.

    It also predicted day and night temperatures of 33 to 35 and 23 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively over the southern states during the forecast period.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience thick dust haze with visibility values less than 1000m over Maiduguri, Potiskum, Kano, Nguru, Katsina, Gusau and Sokoto.

    It added that “the region will have day and night temperatures of 28 to 31 and 11 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “Visibility values are still expected to deteriorate over the North and central cities as a result of dust freshly raised from the Source region, while the visibility values in most of the areas will be less than 1000m.”

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states on Friday with chances of morning rain over Jos and Lafia.

    The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) in Abuja on Thursday.

    It explained that few thunderstorms would prevail over the high ground areas in the afternoon and evening with maximum day time temperatures of 28 degrees to 33 degrees Celsius.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy condition in the morning with chances of rain showers over Calabar, Eket and Yenegoa.

    It said that there would be chances of isolated thunderstorms over the inland and coastal cities in the evening hours with maximum day time temperatures of 28 degrees to 32 degrees Celsius.

    NiMet also predicted that Northern states of Sokoto, Kano, Nguru, Dutse, Katsina, Maiduguri and Yelwa would experience overnight and morning thunderstorms with maximum day time temperatures of 33 degrees to 34 degrees Celsius.

    According to the prediction, high pressure belt across most parts of the country suggest fair weather condition over the central and the southern cities, especially during the morning hours of Friday.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions in good visibility over the central states of Abuja, Minna, Bida, Lafia, Ilorin, Jos and Kaduna on Thursday.

    The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Wednesday in Abuja.

    It explained that the central region would also experience night time temperatures range of 19 to 23 degrees Celsius.

    NiMet predicted that coastal cities would experience partly cloudy to cloudy situation during the forecast period with night time temperature of 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    It predicted that coastal cities of Port Harcourt, Lagos Yenegoa, Benin, Calabar, Eket, Warri, Ijebu-Ode, Ibadan and Akure would experience localised rain showers during afternoon and evening hours.

    NiMet predicted that northern states would experience hazy and sunny conditions in good horizontal visibility during the forecast period with night time temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees Celsius.
