    HENNESSY ARTISTRY: Tuface Idibia, Wizkid storm Ghana

    MULTI-AWARD winning pop star, Tuface Idibia and sensational singer, Wizkid, will be changing the face of Hennessy Artistry season as they storm the Accra International Conference Centre Accra, Ghana, today, to deliver what is described as the biggest Hennessy Artistry International Concert.

    Commenting on today’s event, Lere Awokoya, Brand Manager, Hennessy Nigeria, said: “Our choice of bringing together these talented artistes from around Africa was influenced by the convergence of Africa and Africa’s taste in music. Just as Hennessy is consumed in different countries in Africa, Africa has gotten to a point, where countries are sharing similar music tastes. Tuface and Wizkid have visited a variety of African countries, including Ghana repeatedly and this is evident in their relevance in the African continent today.”

    Earlier, the two music stars had thrilled fans, lovers of Hennessy and music at the Cosmo Lounge in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. They kicked off the show with a pulsating performance of their first collabo track, Dance Go. They also performed some of their hit tracks, including Iheneme, Show you the Money and Eleniyan, among others, to the delight of many present at the party.

    Wizkid to star mum in Mummy Mi video

    STARBOY Boss, Wizkid, has revealed plans to feature his mother, Alhaja J.M. Balogun, in the video of his new track, Mummy Mi.

    The singer also revealed that his collaboration with American R&B singer, Chris Brown, would be dropped early next month.

    “I will shoot Mummy Mi video with my mum. I have recorded a song with Chris Brown, which will be released in three weeks’ time. Trust me; everything is so African,” he stated.

    Wizkid recently released his sophomore album, AYO, in which he dedicated one of the songs, Mummy Mi, to his mother. Other songs in which he eulogised his mother include Joy and Ojuelegba.

    The 24-year-old singer and father of one is today regarded as one of the successful artistes in Nigeria.

    INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed superstars, Tuface Idibia and Wizkid, have been revealed as this year’s Hennessy Artistry headliners.

    The two talents, who are widely known for monster hits and ground-breaking music videos, will join the league of iconic talents who have headlined Hennessy Artistry in the past years.

    This year’s theme represents a blend of the matured, premium lifestyle and the young, vibrant lifestyle, which is generally classified as ‘new school’, according to the management of Hennessy.

    “Great things. Eau de vie… We are getting it this year,” Tuface exclaimed at the recent photo shoot for the headliners.

    Tuface and Wizkid will release their first ever collabo track for Hennessy Artistry this month.

    “I’m really privileged to be working with a legend on Hennessy Artistry… This year is going to rock,” Wizkid also said at the photo shoot.

    As with every year, a selection of talented up- and-coming acts will join 2Face and Wizkid on the Artistry train. The supporting acts will be announced later this month before the club tour kicks off.

    Since Hennessy Artistry was first unveiled in Nigeria in 2007, Hennessy Cognac has remained the world’s leading cognac brand setting very high standards for other brands to follow.

    Starting off as a cocktail-mixing contest between renowned bartenders, Hennessy Artistry has since evolved into Nigeria’s biggest music platform for experimental collaborations between multi-talented artistes.

    Past Hennessy Artistry headliners include Dbanj, MI, Naeto C, Banky W, Eldee, Tiwa Savage, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Nneka, Sir Shina Peters and Bez, among others.

    Fresh from touring the U.S., where he performed with international acts like Akon and Wale, Nigerian music sensation, Wizkid, has revealed that he has some cards up his sleeves.

    The hit maker, who has been basking in the euphoria of his successful tour, announced at the weekend, via his twitter handle, that he had a surprise for his fans.

    He tweeted: “I’ve got a big, big surprise for my fans in Lagos come December! Big show! Big surprise!”

    Immediately after he made the announcement, twitter fans bombarded the artiste with predictions on what his intention might be. Many, however, were of the opinion that the music rave might be releasing his long- awaited album. But, of course, Wizkid is keeping his plans close to his chest and only time will tell, if some of his fans were actually right about their predictions.

    Sensational singer,Wizkid, has revealed that he will be releasing a song he did with America-based singer, Rihanna, very soon. He announced this on Tuesday while on Midday Show programme on Beat FM 99.9 hosted by Toolz.

    The singer was in Los Angeles, USA, last month, where he hooked up with American stars, Chris Brown, Akon and few others. He also announced on the Internet that Rihanna described him as ‘amazing’ during a studio session.

    Already, Wizkid’s fans are happy about this development and are anticipating the release of the single, which they said would be a hit.

    SOUL E predicts Boko Haram attack in Lagos

    AFTER a rough patch of earlier prediction about top music stars Davido and Wizkid, which was widely criticized by fans and some of his colleagues, singer- turned-prophet of God, Emmanuel Okose, popularly called Soul E Baba, is again in the news with more prophesies.

    The former musician has warned that the dreaded insurgency sect, Boko Haram, may turn their attention to Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos.

    Soul E, who claimed to have predicted the Abuja and Jos bombings, went to his Facebook page to warn of an impending attack on Lagos and urged Nigerians to pray ceaselessly to avert the act.

    “Some weeks ago, I told Nigeria and the world on my Facebook page that these animals and blood sucking people were about to hit Jos, Kano, Port Harcourt and Lagos and I gave some Psalms for everyone who cares to listen to what God is saying through the prophet.

    “Those of you in Lagos need to hold God well because Lagos is their next target. For those of you who believe in the ministry of the prophet, read psalm 90. Jos, Kano, PH have been hit, but God will do His work in this nation,” he posted.

    Since he returned to the limelight, Soul E, who dumped secular music for gospel, has joined the likes of popular men of God like T B Joshua and Primate Ayodele Ayodeji, among others, who are known for making predictions.

    Wizkid, Olamide, Davido, others rock at Star Music Trek in Benin

    SENSATIONAL singers, Wizkid, Olamide, Davido, Dr Sid and Kcee, last weekend, wowed their fans with scintillating performances at the Ogbe Stadium, Benin, during the eighth edition of Nigeria’s favourite concert, Star Music Trek.

    A number of talented home grown artistes lit up the Star Music Trek stage, where they displayed their vocal prowess in different genres to the admiration of the enthusiastic crowd who turned out in large number.

    The host, Do2dtun, added some panache to the event as he intermittently repeated his familiar phrase: “Have fun”, before the first headline artiste, Dr Sid stepped, on the stage.

    Also, the electrifying duo of KCee and Harrysong further enlivened the night with their stage presence, dance steps, while rendering their favorurite songs like Bulienu Jesus, Pull Over, Limpopo and Akuna Matata, among others.

    The MAMA 2014 nominee, Davido, stormed the concert with his OBO crew. The artiste, who performed for the first time on The Trek and the second time in Benin, was evidently excited to be on the stage. He mesmerised the fans with his stagecraft and popular songs, particularly Aye, which immediately threw fans into vigorous dancing.

    Olamide performed a number of his songs, which made his fans stayed on their feet singing along with him.

    Interestingly, pop star Wizkid, who was making his debut performance on The Trek, didn’t disappoint in anyway. The sensational act, who has been nominated for Best Male and Best Collaboration at MAMA 2014, was at his best, as he excited the fans with a medley of his award-winning songs like Caro, Jaiye Jaiye, On Top Your Matter and more.

    Davido beats Wizkid, others at Ghana Music Awards

    •Wins Best African Artiste of the Year

    Nigerian Hip hop singer, Davido, at the weekend, shone like a star when he won the Best African Artiste of the Year award at the 15th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

    He beat the likes of Psquare, Kcee, Wizkid, Flavour and South African duo, Mafikizolo, to emerge the winner at the awards ceremony held at the International Conference Centre, Ghana.

    According to the organisers, “The award can only be won by non-Ghanaian musicians whose music crossed borders and made the most impact in Ghana and on the continent at large during the year under review.”

    Obviously elated, Davido immediately showed off the VGMA award and wrote on his Instagram page: “Winner oh winner! GMA African Artiste of the Year! I can’t lie; I’m packing all, this year. Amen.”

    The awards ceremony, which was hosted by Kofi Okyere Darko (K.O.D) and Eazzy, saw performances from Davido, Iyanya, Sarkodie, Samini and Sonnie Badu, among other artistes.

    Wizkid, Waje part ways with manager

    NIGERIAN Pop stars, Wizkid and Waje, have parted ways with their manager, Godwin Tom. According to reports, Tom threw in the towel, following a disagreement with Wizzy, after a recent trip to Dubai and the United Kingdom.

    Tom, who once managed acts like M.I and Show Dem Camp, has also parted ways with his other client, Waje.

    Though the cause of his disagreement with Waje could not be ascertained, reports claimed that the duo have now gone their separate ways.

    In recent time, Tom has been releasing some comments on Twitter and Instagram, which show signs of frustration over the recent developments.

    Reports also claimed that he confided in his friends that he might take a break from the Nigerian music scene to try his hands on other ventures.

    Consequently, both sensational singers have removed Tom’s name and contacts from their Twitter pages and replaced them with their new managements.

    Meanwhile, Waje’s publicist has already confirmed that Tom is no longer managing the Edo State- born singer. “Godwin Tom is no longer managing Waje ,’ said Wild Flower PR, Waje’s media representative.

    Tom began his working relationship with Waje in 2012, the same year he teamed up with Wizkid after the singer parted ways with his first manager, Osagie Osarenkhoe.
