Do you know that healthy lifestyle choices can help you promote and increase your fertility level?

Come along as we reveal some secrets to you. Secrets nobody will ever tell you.

    1. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT: Being overweight or significantly underweight can affect hormone production and inhibit normal ovulation. Maintaining a healthy weight can increase the frequency of ovulation and likelihood of pregnancy.

If you are overweight and wish to reduce it drastically in a very natural way without any negative side effect, then CLICK HERE ==> http://goo.gl/ZofVh0

    2. PREVENT SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS (STIs): Sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia and gonorrhea are a leading cause of infertility for women. To protect yourself from STIs, practice safe sex. Limit your number of sexual partners, and use a condom each time you have sex if you are not married— or stay in a mutually monogamous relationship with a partner who isn’t infected.

    3. EAT HEALTHY DIET: Untreated celiac disease can harm fertility. Otherwise, there isn’t enough research to suggest a specific diet to promote fertility though but eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and a variety of protein sources will serve you well whether or not you’re trying to conceive.

    4. SCHEDULE REGULAR CHECKUPS: Regular visits to the hospital can help you detect and treat health conditions that might threaten your fertility earlier before it becomes something big.

    5. AVOID THE NIGHT SHIFTS, IF POSSIBLE: Regularly working the night shift might put you at a higher risk of infertility, possibly by affecting hormone production. If you do work the night shift, try to get enough sleep when you’re not working.

While stress won’t totally stop you from getting pregnant, consider minimizing stress and practicing healthy coping methods such as relaxation techniques when you’re trying to conceive.

    WHAT IS THE OFF-LIMIT?

Healthy lifestyle choices count here, too. To protect your fertility:

    1. DON’T SMOKE: Smoking ages your ovaries and depletes your eggs prematurely. If you smoke, ask your health care provider to help you quit and also DETOXIFY YOUR BODY SYSTEM.

    2. LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL YOU DRINK: Heavy drinking is associated with an increased risk of ovulation disorders. If you’d like to get pregnant, consider avoiding alcohol completely.

    3. CURB CAFFEINE: Some research doesn’t support a clear link between too much caffeine and infertility. However, most reproductive experts recommend limiting the amount of caffeine in your diet to less than 200 to 300 milligrams a day if you’re trying to conceive.

    4. BE WARY OF VIGOROUS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Too much vigorous physical activity can inhibit ovulation and reduce production of the hormone progesterone. If you have a healthy weight and you’re thinking of becoming pregnant soon, consider limiting vigorous physical activity to less than five hours a week. If you’re overweight, we can help you reduce it the healthy and natural way with our natural weight/fat loss program. CLICK HERE ==> http://goo.gl/vgv3mn

    5. AVOID EXPOSURE TO TOXINS: Agricultural workers, lab scientist, hair stylists and certain other groups might be at risk of menstrual disorders. Dental assistants exposed to high levels of nitrous oxide, anyone exposed to elevated levels of organic solvents such as dry cleaning chemicals and industrial workers exposed to drugs or chemicals during the manufacturing process also might be at risk of reduced fertility. • Protest over decomposed woman’s body halts activities in Ibadan

Socio-economic activities came to a halt on Tuesday at Apata , Ibadan in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo state as scores of students of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moore Plantation Ibadan barricaded the Ibadan-Abeokuta Expressway in Protest against alleged government  insensitivity to their health.

The students were demanding the immediate removal of a decomposed body of a woman who allegedly slumped and died last week Saturday while waiting for a cab at the bus-stop very close to the main gate of the college.

The angry students said they were disappointed by the attitude of government officials whom they accused of turning blind eye to the effect of the decomposed body on the health of the students and others who live and work around the area.

They alleged that despite several calls on officials of the local government and state Ministry of Health to ensure that the body was removed to prevent epidemic in the area , they (officials) refused to come .

Speaking with The Nation, the SUG President, Mr Monsuru Olayinka restated the call on health officials both at the local government and state Ministry of Health to remove the dead body within 24 hours or face the wrath of the students.

He described the attitude of officials of government to work as very unfortunate.

The students’ leader even threatened that the express way would remain impassable until government does the needful.

Other students were seen carrying cards with the inscription ” Ajimobi please save us from deadly disease”, ” Save us from lackadasical attitude of our health officials”,
“Tell them to remove this decomposed body , our health in danger”.

Since the unfortunate death of the woman , the family and relatives are yet to be known.

At the scene of the protest, the students who carried green leaves and sticks took over the one lane expressway, causing very long queue and traffic gridlock.

Some motorists and commercial motorcycle operators who proved ‘stubborn’ were beaten and dispossessed by the students .

Many workers remained in the traffic for more than two hours, while others were stranded at bus-stops waiting endlessly.

There was no single presence of policemen and other security agents at the scene , even though  the Apata Police Station is less than 200 meters away to the scene of the protest.

Woman, 80, dies in Lagos fire

An octogenarian was burnt to death yesterday when fire gutted her home in Maryland, Lagos.

The duplex at 5, Tola Adewunmi Street in Wasinmi, Maryland, caught fire around 4am when she and her housemaid were asleep.

The maid, simply identified as Mama Jossy, who lives in the boys quarters saw the fire and rushed upstairs to rescue her employer, but the apartment was filled with smoke.

Mama Jossy ran back to seek help. But when sympathisers, neighbours and men of the Lagos State Fire Service got to the scene, the fire had razed the octogenarian’s room.

The fire was quenched and the octogenarian’s body recovered.

The victim, a medical doctor, simply identified as Helen was said to have practised in Saudi Arabia but returned to Nigeria last year after her retirement.

She was said to be preparing to travel abroad on Saturday.

Her remains have been deposited in a mortuary.

A security man, who didn’t give his name, said the fire occurred few minutes after power was restored.

He said her body may be taken to her home town in Delta State for burial.

An eye witness, Madam Maria Etukudoh, described the fire as “strange”, saying it was the second within a year.

She added: “She returned to Nigeria for her last child’s wedding and now the incident happened. Mama didn’t take things for granted and whenever she saw an unusual thing, she informed an electrician to make amendment. Also, she did not allow the use of petrol in the house. Only God knows what transpired.”

Few hours to the incident, the victim was said to have asked her driver to take her to her relatives’ place to inform them about her planned trip.

“Mama”, who lost her husband about a decade ago, was said to be billed for an operation abroad.

Lagos State Fire Service Director Razak Fadipe said preliminary investigation showed the fire was caused by power surge.

  • Woman ‘pours’ hot water on neighbour

A 25-year-old woman, Chioma Monday, was yesterday arraigned before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly pouring hot water on her neighbour.

The accused who resides at 11, Ogunmokun Street, Mushin, is facing a two-count charge of assault and a breach of public peace.

Prosecuting Sergeant Onaiwu Iyobosa told the court that the accused committed the offences on January 25.

Iyobosa said the accused and her victim, one Peace Daniel, were quarrelling in a kitchen they were sharing when the accused poured hot water on her.

“She poured a pot of hot water on the victim’s face which splashed on her chest and breast,’’ Iyabosa said.

Iyobosa said the offence contravened Sections 166 and 169 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

    The accused pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate E.A Johnson granted the accused N400, 000 bail with two sureties in the like sum.

She adjourned the case to February 22 for trial.

  • Woman docked for attempted murder of fiancé, theft

The Police have accused a 46-year-old woman, Victoria Alaegbu, of attempting to kill her fiancé and stealing his 1.5 million dollars cash, equivalent to N295.5 million.

Alaegbu, whose address was not given, was arraigned Wednesday at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, attempt to kill, stealing, unlawful detention and possession of a fake document.

Prosecuting Sergeant Nicholas Akpene told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on December 13, 2015, at 8:30 p.m, at Ojora Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant attempted to kill one Prince Hillary Unachukwu by administering a noxious chemical substance on him.

It was also alleged that the substance administered on Unachukwu knocked him out from 8:00 p.m to 12:00 midnight, which gave the defendant time to steal his $1.5 million, equivalent to N295.5 million.

The prosecutor further alleged that after taking Unachukwu’s money, the defendant locked him up inside his apartment with a padlock.

He then alleged that when the noxious substance administered to him gradually wore off and Unachukwu awoke, he was too weak to free himself from the unlawful detention by the defendant.

The prosecutor also claimed that the defendant was unlawfully in possession of a SIM card with number 07087773669, without properly registering the number with her name and address.

He added that the registration of the sim card was done with the intent to commit fraud.
The alleged offences contravened Sections 228, 270, 285 (1) (f) and 404 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, the prosecutor said.

The defendant, however, denied all of the charges.

Magistrate S. K. Matepo (Mrs) granted the defendant bail in the sum of N5 million with two sureties in the like sum.

She ordered that the sureties must swear to an affidavit of means, show evidence of tax payment, and one of the sureties should be a blood relation of the accused.

The case adjourned till February 10 for mention.

Last Tuesday, the police arraigned Unachukwu’s 22-year-old security guard, Isaac Onoja, of conniving with unknown persons to steal the $1.5 million.

Onoja, from Benue State, had claimed that some unknown armed men forcibly gained entry to the premises and tied him up before stealing the $1.5m from the complainant’s room.

  • The one thing you must never do

The one thing you must never do

ONLY yesterday I was chatting with a friend, so she told me how she met this dashing young gentleman in the course of work. As a respectable married woman, she did what every self respecting married female does for her single friends- hook them up with eligible, single males with the hope that it would head somewhere. So the two meet, and before they can both hit it off, the guy goes to his village for Christmas, and the lady invites herself over to his village (unasked). That was the end of the budding relationship. Can you guess why? Simple, choosing to make such a visit made her look desperate, if not cheap; especially when the man had not made such an overture. What do I mean? I will explain.

Let the man make the effort to initiate a relationship. Men are by nature hunters, especially when it comes to relationships. In spite of what women libbers wish to make us believe, ladies are better off letting the man take the lead in relationships. Let him make the effort to chase you, get you and hold your attention, and the usual male/female dating drama; anything less makes the woman look easy, and the man most likely lose interest. If men want us to be hard to get, attractive, sexy, interesting, mysterious; the list goes on, we must be that way. When you programme a man’s mind to always think of you; of ways to please you, and how he can make you his, it becomes a part f his thinking, and he will treasure you. When you do the chasing however, he will think that you are cheap, desperate, or lacking in worth. Trust me, men like women who are hard to get. Anything less is a recipe for disaster as so many heartbroken women can testify. Never ever chase a man.

Never be the one to initiate the move to take a relationship to the next level. Why? Simple, a man knows exactly where he wants the relationship to lead to. If a man wants a serious relationship, he knows, and will do whatever he needs to get it. If he does not he won’t. Unfortunately, he might choose not to tell you that he does not want a serious relationship. Especially if the lady is meeting his sexual needs. Wise women know that with men, actions speak louder than words. Look at his actions, not his words. Ladies risk looking desperate when they attempt to push a man to make a commitment. So what does a wise lady do? Become unavailable, or end the relationship if the guy seems unwilling to commit himself to you. If he is serious, he will get the message and commit, if not, good riddance. So save yourself the heartache by ending the relationship, and make yourself available for a guy who is willing, and able to commit.

Never be the one to make all the sacrifices at the beginning of the relationship. Why? Any lasting relationship will demand sacrifices from the couple, but it is in a lady’s interest to be with a man who is willing to make sacrifices for her at the beginning. What do I mean? Single ladies should not fall into the trap of acting like wives when they aren’t. For instance, a lady moved from her Ikeja home to take care of her sick sister living at Iyana-Ipaja. Her boyfriend lives at Suru-Lere. How did the couple manage the relationship? Some ladies would refuse to make the move so as to be close to their boyfriends, or she would be the one making the long, uncomfortable commute to visit her man. A wise babe, she allowed her man make the commute, at the end of it all, he decided that he could not imagine not seeing her as often as he liked, so he proposed.

  • Army condemns men for allegedly removing woman’s veil

Army condemns men for allegedly removing woman’s veil

    •Muslim community protests
•Ambode: hijab not banned in Lagos

The Army on Sunday dissociated itself from the action of its men who allegedly removed the veil of a muslim woman in Lagos last Friday.

The incident has sparked protests from the Muslim community, which is calling on the Presidency to make its stand known on the use of hijab.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode condemned the soldiers’ action, saying hijab is not banned in Lagos State.

Army’s 81 Division 1 Public Relations Officer Col James Samuel said the military did not direct soldiers to harrass women in hijab.

The army, Samuel said, was unaware of the incident.

Two soldiers last Friday in Meiran, Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos removed the woman’s veil, claiming that its use had been banned.

Islamic organisations and clerics took to social media to condemn the action.

According to an eyewitness, Adetutu Oluwa, the soldiers allegedly alighted from their vehicle on sighting a woman dressed in veil and started harassing her.

One of them, she claimed, forcefully removed the veil, popularly referred to as Niqab, from the woman’s head and warned her never to use it in public again.

“After removing the veil, one of the soldiers said: ‘This thing is not allowed in our country again. You can use it in your house.’  They both walked back to their vehicle with the veil,” Oluwa alleged.

According to her, it took the intervention of passersby and sympathisers for the woman to get her veil back.

“On sensing cold reaction from the people, the soldiers dropped the veil on the floor, entered their vehicle and zoomed off,” she said.

Oluwa in a programme monitored on Star 101.5 FM on Saturday said: “I was traumatised by the situation even though I wasn’t the one harassed.”

According to islamic organisations and scholars, the President’s statement on the possibility of banning hijab because many Boko Haram suicide bombers hide under it to wreak havoc, is being used as excuse to harass Islamic women nationwide.

“Everything must be done to balance national security requirements with religious rights and obligations of citizens protected as enshrined in the constitution,” said Mallam Saheed Ashafa, Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Lagos State Area Unit president.

A lawyer, Mutiat Orolu-Balogun, described the soldiers’ action as callous, saying: “It is easy to point fingers if you are not sacrificing or not being inconvenienced. Some sections are easy to clamour for the ban on hijab because they are not using it or they are looking for an excuse not to or they want everyone to be naked like them. Whichever is their wish or thought as the case may be, they need fresh orientation.”

Lagos State University (LASU) lecturer Mrs Ganiya Adenle said: “When there is a fire, I don’t see fire fighters killing the smoke, they rather go to the base of the fire. The government should go to the root of Boko Haram, find out those behind it and stop killing the smoke of Boko Haram.”

Dousing tension, Governor Ambode said hijab has not been banned in Lagos State.

He spoke on Saturday during the inauguration of The Muslim Congress (TMC) Imams at TMC Dawah Centre in Ijeshatedo.

Ambode said the government has not directed security operatives to go on such mission.

The governor said: “I want to assure you that government does not know anything about what happened on Friday at Meiran. Lagos State has not banned hijab. The Federal government has not banned hijab and we are warning all security operatives to desist from all acts that can lead to religious tension.”

Ambode appealed to the crowd to remain law-abiding and not to take the laws into its hands, promising to look into the case.

“Nobody is above the law. Muslims should be free to practise their religion. Christians should feel free to practise their religion,” he said.

Ambode, represented by Home Affairs Commissioner Dr Abdul Abdul Hakeem AbdulLateef, thanked the congress for its support during the last elections.

“Personally, I don’t think that banning hijab is the solution to the menace of terrorism,” AbdulLateef said, adding: “Ever since journalism has been practised as a profession, there are journalists who have come out with articles and information capable of creating tension and derailing the government. No government has because of that banned journalism.

“We cannot because of the excesses of some people begin to trample on the fundamental human rights of others.

“It is good that all religious organisations are taking it on board. They are now using metal detectors to ensure nobody comes in with bomb. This is the message that all churches and mosques are taking on board.”

The governor noted that religious leaders are critical stakeholders in the development of the state and the country.

“We’ll not because of what is happening now violate our own constitution. We recognise the fact that section 38 of the constitution allows the freedom of religion either as individuals on in community with others to observe and propagate their religion. We will never allow any security officials to take the law into its hands.  This is our electoral promise to Lagosians,” Ambode said.

  • Woman dies in Lagos fire

    Woman dies in Lagos fire

A 28-year-old woman, Yesirah Arowofela, died on Wednesday night in a fire that razed the second floor of a two-storey building at 11, Ladipo Kuku Street off Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos.

The inferno, it was learnt, was caused by a high voltage around 7:50p.m.

According to a guard, Usman, the building caught fire following a spark from the electric pole when light was restored.

He said: “The fire affected only their flat. We tried our best to put out the fire but it spread fast. Everything was stiff; we couldn’t do anything.”

A resident, Jamiu Abdullah, said the late Arowofela screamed for help but rescuers could not reach her because of the fire’s intensity.

“I really don’t know if she was sleeping but as the fire started, I heard her voice. Her mother didn’t spend up to 15 minutes outside the building when the fire started. I don’t know the reason she locked the door at that time. It is so unfortunate. When we eventually broke the door, we didn’t hear her talk again. She was no more. I couldn’t recognise her again. The fire fighters came late because of the heavy traffic that night but they were the ones that succeeded in quenching the fire.”

A family member, who didn’t give his name, said her mother locked the door because Yesirah was physically challenged.

She said: “People have been blaming the mother for locking the door on an adult at that time but she had her reasons. Yesirah has been ill for 10 years and she has not been normal. It is painful that she died that way.”

A neighbour, Segun Okanlawon, said the deceased was buried yesterday at a cemetary in Agege.

“They have been living here for over 20 years and we have never witnessed this incident. As I speak, the electric pole is still sparking. Another house also caught fire due to high voltage but it was controlled immediately,” he said.

State Fire Service Director Rasaq Fadipe said the fire started inside the kitchen.

  • Woman value 10

I GOT talking with a group of ladies earlier in the week, and found the topic very interesting, it was the question of feminine worth or simply put the value men place on their wives. Let me explain, have you ever come across a single or married woman whose man treats her like crap? He disrespects her, talks to her roughly or with disdain, carries on with other woman to her knowledge with reckless abandon, some even keep late nights or spend nights away from home; making it obvious that they have other women. Yet, there is another group of women, whose men adore them. They are not necessarily the most beautiful of women but their men treat them like queens, even though neither of them is perfect. Even when such men choose to philander, they do it discreetly, and make it obvious that they love and respect their wives too much to treat them with disrespect. What differentiates women in both groups? It is their perceived worth in the eyes of their men.

A young seventeen year old man moves to a new country and sees falls in love with his master’s daughter at first sight, so he offers to work for seven years for the man just so he can marry the girl. The man agrees, and after seven years, is ready for the wedding. After the wedding, he was livid to discover that he was given the elder sister instead. But his in-law explained to him that it was against their custom to give out the younger sister before the elder. But is told that he can have the younger daughter for another seven years of service, the love struck man agrees and serves another seven years for the selfsame maiden. In present day Nigeria, assuming the young man’s salary was fifteen thousand naira monthly, the value of the dowry would be two million five hundred and twenty thousand naira only. That was the dowry the groom himself set. Can you imagine that? Do you think that a man who paid so much as dowry for a woman would dare to treat her with disrespect? I think not.

Unfortunately, many women today have become cheap in the name of love. A man will manage anything, but will only value and respect a woman of worth. I remember an uncle of mine whose wife always complained of his lifestyle; he never got home before 1 am, kept a harem of women, and generally made it obvious that she was not a priority. But I vividly remember overhearing as a teenager him telling my mum that even though she was not his type, she was all he could afford at the time; she was available, and cheap, often leaving her parents house in the village to squat with him in his guardians house in Lagos. He intended to date her until he got a better job, he would then take her out a couple of times, and buy her a couple of clothes to settle her off. The good job was a long time coming, so she moved in with him during that time, and had two kids. They only got married after both kids were grown, but guess what? He never appreciated her, even though she stayed with him when he had nothing, why? The simple reason is that she never had his heart in the first place. How many men value “Iyawo nylon bag?” I mean women who just move in with men without the benefit of marriage, or women who trapped men into marriage with pregnancy. I can’t count the number of women who have gotten burnt by this practice, yet many continue to toe that path. As the daughter of a doting father, I can’t imagine why a girl would move into a man’s house without him doing the honourable thing, when a man on fifteen thousand naira monthly salary paid over two million for a girl like you, methinks it’s time we used our tongues to count our teeth.
