    Work permit delays Ifeanyi Matthew’s Norway debut

    Ex-Kano Pillars star Ifeanyi Matthew is yet to make his much-awaited debut for new Norwegian club Lillestrom as he has yet to be issued a work permit.

    The exciting midfielder bagged a four-year deal with Lillestrom after he shone on trials there recently.

    He has continued to shine in training for the Norwegian club, but he has yet to play his first official game because he has not got his work permit.

    “The work permit takes a little longer these days and that is why he has not made his debut. But for that he would have played because he has continued to do very well in training,” a source informed.

    Lillestrom are 12th on the table with 22 points from 21 matches.

    Watford record signing, Isaac Success has been cleared to play in the English Premier League after the Home Office issued the Nigeria youth international a work permit, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.

    The attacker’s application was granted by the United Kingdom authorities on  July 13, but he picked up the document on Tuesday, July 26.

    It was a foregone conclusion that Isaac Success will be granted a work visa though he is yet to make his debut for the senior national team of Nigeria.

    Based on the new point-based system, the transfer fee the Hornets paid to secure his signature was high and it has been claimed that he is one of the best paid players at the Vic plus he last represented a Spanish topflight team.

    Success is in line to make his competitive debut for Watford when they take on Southampton in the Premier League on August 13.

    Former Warri Wolves and Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has told AfricanFootball.com his work permit will be out this week so he could feature for new South African club Chippa United.

    Akpeyi, who has signed for the South African PSL side, will now team up with fellow Nigerian James Okuosah.

    Akpeyi told AfricanFootball.com: “I am just awaiting the release of my work permit which would be out in two days all things being equal. I have done every other thing that is needed, it’s just for me to start playing that is left.

    “I am very excited to have completed my move to Chippa. I am eager to get to action for them and do what I love doing.

    “And I am looking forward to bettering and improving myself as the South African league is very competitive.”

    Work permit stops Uzochukwu’s PSL debut

    CHAN Eagles star Ugonna Uzochukwu failed to make his PSL league debut for Chippa United on Saturday due to non-issuance of a work permit.

    The agent of the midfielder,Mohmmed Lawal told AfricanFootball.com  that efforts are being intensified to see that he get the permit before next game of the South African top-flight league.

    “Ugonna was physically and mentally ready for the league opener against Platinum Stars but he missed it because he is yet to have a work permit,” Lawal told AfricanFootball.com.

    “The permit is not ready yet, but we are hopeful he will get it before the next game.”

    Newly-promoted Chippa United beat Platinum Stars 2-0 in Port Elizabeth on Saturday and their next game will be away to Supersports United on Tuesday.

    Ugonna signed a two-year deal with Chippa United from Nigeria league club Enugu Rangers recently.

    According to leaks gathered by allnigeriasoccer.com, Nigeria youth international Isaac Success is hopeful of departing the shores of the country this weekend to begin his adventure with Granada.

    Recall that immediately after his goals for the Golden Eaglets led the team to win silver at the CAF Under 17 championship, Udinese poached the highly rated starlet by offering him a four-year contract which started running when he clocked 18 in January.

    For the past two months, the ex Megap Soccer Academy (now known as B-J Foundation) forward has been awaiting the outcome of his work permit application to the Spanish embassy.

    At the start of this week, specifically Monday, there was contact between a representative of Success and Spanish embassy staff and the good news is that the work permit application was successful.

    Today, the 18 – year – old and his entourage will visit the embassy to collect the processed document. If there are no last-minute changes, he will leave for Spain this weekend accompanied by another Granada recruit Uche Agbo.

    It should be noted that Udinese have an excellent relationship with Granada and the higher-ups at the Italian outfit have sanctioned that the two Nigerian teenagers move to Spain to enhance their development.

    Former KVC Westerlo youth ace Bright Osagie is on the verge of launching himself with a bang in the Austrian league, following his successful completion of a medical to facilitate his 4-year contract with Red Bull Salzburg even as his Belgian-Nigerian agent Klay Ekeocha has confirmed that his work permit will be ready next week.

    Ekeocha expressed optimism that Osagie will be a major hit in Austria describing him as a bundle of talent

    ”His work permit shall be ready early next week. This boy is a special talent and I am predicting he will be the next big thing in Nigerian football,” he told allnigeriasoccer.com.
    The 18-year-old known for his ability to use both feet coupled with breathtaking pace with or without the ball, is seen as a major boost for Red Bull Salzburg who currently occupy the 3rd position in the 10-team Austrian Bundesliga and eager to shoot into the first position.
    Osagie had initially signed a preliminary contract with Racing Genk in June but the deal hit the rocks after Westerlo failed to reach an agreement with Racing Genk on the player’s transfer fee.
