Alhaji Sadiq Sule-Iko, the Chairman, Governing Board, Federal Medical Centre ( FMC ), Keffi, Nasarawa State, has advised the general public to disregard rumours that the hospital is recruiting workers.

This is contained in a statement issued by Malam Jamil Nagogo, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the centre, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Keffi.

The statement said Sule-Iko gave the advice when he led the Medical Director of the centre, Dr Yahaya Adamu, and other management team on a courtesy visit to the Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, in Keffi.

It explained that the visit was informed by the strength of speculations gaining ground in and around Keffi to the effect that the management of the centre had recently recruited new employees.

According to the statement, the board chairman dismissed the rumour, assuring that the governing board will investigate and get to the root of the matter.

It said the chairman warned the general public against spreading rumours inimical to the peace and progress of the society.

“His Royal Highness, the centre is not recruiting, I want to debunk the rumours going around that the centre is recruiting,” the statement quoted Sule-Iko saying.

It stated that the board would not embark on such exercise without informing the traditional ruler and host community.
“The Board Chairman assured the Emir of the board’s readiness to consult him for fatherly advice, guidance and support at all times in order to move the centre to greater height,’’ it said.

The statement added that the chairman expressed appreciation to the Emir for his continued support and assistance to the management of the centre and called for its sustenance.

Substitute Yahaya Adamu rescued a point for the Dream Team VI in a Super Six 1-1 draw game against Kano Pillars on Wednesday.

It was a match that wasn’t lacking the flavour to excite fans that thronged the Abuja National Stadium to catch a glimpse of the two teams in action.

Pillars striker Adamu Hassan had a shooting chance which U-23 goalkeeper Jonah Usman was up to in the opening exchange.

The Dream Team VI’s goal tender was again called to action in the 14th minute as he dived to save a free kick from Azeez Shobowale.

In the 18th minute, Pillars had a penalty appeal ignored by the match referee. Shobowale went down in the 18-yard area.

Ichull Lordson delivered a long-range free kick which brought out the best from Lawrence John in goal for the reigning NPFL champions.

One minute after the half hour mark, new Pillars signing Christian Obiozor delivered the first goal of the highly explosive encounter. The lanky striker reacted to a spilled save from Usman for his second goal of the tournament.

Former Kwara United striker Yahaya Adamu was thrown into the fray to support lone striker Amutu and his introduction brought the needed change for the U23 team. He went on an individual run down the Pillars, but his shot was blocked by the desperate Pillars defence line.

    Kwara Utd’s performance excites Yahaya

Nigeria Professional Football League man of the moment, Kwara United’s Yahaya Adamu has stressed that the sky would be his starting point as he seeks to notch more important goals for Kwara United in the current season.

Yahaya previously played for Rising Stars and Sunshine Stars but left the latter during the first transfer session of the season at Week 9 after finding playing time difficult, but after five games for the Afonja Warriors the former Flying Eagles player has plundered home four goals.

In an interview with Goal, Yahaya said he has no hidden secrets behind his success story in Ilorin but admitted he has improved considerably than while he was with his last two clubs because of his improved work rate.

Yahaya noted that he has never sought personal glory and that the noise which his form has generated in the media will only spur him on to ensure that Kwara United sustain their present momentum throughout the season.

He saluted the courage of head coach Samson Unuanel for risking his purchase despite not playing regularly for Sunshine Stars and he promised to repay the trust by banging in more crucial goals till the Afonja Warriors win the league for the first time in their history.

“I am elated with my form but I can never be carried away. I have played 5 games and have scored four goals. It is not my making. I will say I was just favoured to be where I am presently.

“I have taken my removal from the U-20 national team as an act of God which cannot be questioned, but I have my career now to focus on so as to get to my other targets. Kwara United are doing well; it is not just because of my performance, it is a collective effort right from the coaches to the players.

“Kwara United are yet to get to their desired heights and with a good coach like coach Samson Unuanel, his assistants and we the players; we shall get there in due course,” Yahaya told Goal.com.

Kwara United are presently third by goals difference to second place Heartland of Owerri on the log of the NPFL with 25 points from 15 games and they have a date with Wikki Tourists of Bauchi next Wednesday in a Week 16 tie.
