  • Olamide drops new song ‘Woske’

    Nigerian hip hop singer and rapper, Olamide Adedeji a.k.a. Baddo has released his first song for the year titled ‘Woske.’

    The 29-year-old Bariga born record label, Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) owner took to his Instagram handle @baddosneh on Friday to announce the released of `Woske.’
    “#Woske!!!! Audio out now.’’

    Olamide, former student of Tai Solarin University of Education also in another post said, the video of the song would be out by 12 noon, West African Time (WAT).

    “A different kinda animal, Video out 12 pm WAT @unlimitedia #Woske.’’

    The song was produced by talented music producer and songwriter, Killertunes.

    The YBNL Boss with 6.7 million followers on Instagram enjoyed a successful 2018 with hit anthems like `Science Student’, `Motigbana’ and `Poverty Die.’

    He started pursuing his music career in 2000 which he officially released Eni Duro in 2010 under ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes.

    In 2011, Baddo released his debut studio album `Rapsodi’ while signed to Coded Tunes.

    In 2012, he left Coded Tunes and started his own record label YBNL Nation.

    In 2013, Olamide became the first Nigerian to sign an endorsement deal with ‘Ciroc.’

    The `First of All’ crooner has more than 120 songs to his name since the inception of his career.

    He has won and also been nominated for several music awards, including multiple Nigeria Entertainment Awards and the Headies Awards.

    Olamide, who popularised the `Shaku-Shaku’ Dance, has collaborated with notable artists in the Nigerian music industry such as Phyno, Falz, Wizkid, Davido, Wale, D’Banj, Reminisce and many more.

    Adekunle Gold’s contract with YBNL expired in December 2016, and there seems to be talks of him renewing it, but nothing more was heard about that intention. But it was later reported that he only signed a management deal with the record label.
    Adekunle Gold is said to have deleted all photos of the YBNL label boss from his social media page and further reports indicated that other YBNL artistes and former artistes posted the latest Olamide’s song “Love No Go Die” artwork except the ‘Sade’ crooner who deleted the post few hours after he posted it on his social media page.
    Further findings also showed that the artiste who is yet to comment on the new development has removed the YBNL name from the ‘About’ section of his official website, Adekunlegold.com.

    YBNL signs first female artiste

    Just few days after YBNL and its protégés Lil Kesh and Viktoh parted ways after the expiration of their contracts, YBNL boss Olamide has unveiled the labels first female artiste Temmie Ovwasa.

    Along with her unveiling, Temmie has a new song under the YBNL imprint titled Jabole which was released on Wednesday. The song which was released on iTunes already got to the number one position within hours of release beating Drake’s One dance.

    Speaking on Cool FM about his new signing, Olamide said, ‘I saw her videos on Instagram and I liked them so I followed her and sent her a message like ‘will you like to work with us?’’

    I don’t know if it will be easy or difficult but one thing I’m sure of is that she will be great.

    Temmie is a final year student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

    AFTER a successful re-launch party of the monthly celebrity club party tagged LockDownNite with Naija Celebs, an event supported by Been there Entertainment (BT Ent), organisers of the event are planning to host Olamide and the YBNL All Stars at Rumours Lounge, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday, June 21.

    “I am excited about being part of LockDownNite again. I am no stranger to the event and I look forward to another night of fun and excitement. In November 2012, I performed at LockdownNite alongside Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and D’ Prince; it was mad fun. I wish to say this is not just about Olamide, but YBNL All Stars,” Olamide said.
