    Yemi Elesho: I discovered Adewale Elesho was my father at age 10

    Comedian and actor Yemi Elesho has revealed that he didn’t know that famous actor Adewale Elesho was his father until he approached the age of 10.

    Speaking in an interview with Biola Bayo, Yemi said it wasn’t until he was watching a movie with his mother that she revealed the surprising truth.

    “I grew up in Oyo, and till I was 5/10 years old, I didn’t know that Elesho was my dad”, he said.

    As a teenager, Yemi confessed to lacking the confidence to ask his mother about his father.

    According to him, he lived with his mother and would often stay with his grandmother when she was away.

    “As a teenager, I didn’t have the confidence to ask my mum about my dad. All I know is that I live with my mum, and when she is not around, I stay with my grandma. One day, we were watching a film and my mum was like, ‘That is your dad’, he said.

    He stated that, in a bid to look for his father in Lagos, he ran away from home, leaving a letter to his mother and telling her not to look for him.

    He also took the opportunity to give a shoutout to Yhemo Lee, a nightlife personality known for treating him and his friends to meals and paying their bills.

    Yemi praised Yhemo’s generosity, saying that whenever they’re out together, he always covers the expenses.

    “Shout out to Yhemo Lee. As long as you’re out with him when he’s around, he pays all our bills. After eating, none of us paid; he would clear everything”, he shared.

    Actor and content creator Yemi Elesho has opened up about his long-standing relationship with award-winning singer Asake.

    According to Elesho, they met during their undergraduate days at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where they became friends and collaborated on movies and skits.

    Interestingly, Elesho said he used to pay Asake’s performance fees with a plate of rice and a bottle of Coca-Cola, which cost around N700.

    Elesho fondly recalled their time together at university, mentioning that they played celebrity football matches and have pictures and videos to commemorate their friendship.

    He affectionately referred to Asake as his “day-one” and “very good friend”.

    He said during a TikTok live with Jigan: “I used to give Asake a ₦700 plate of rice and a bottle of Coca-Cola as performance fees for him to feature in movies during our undergraduate days at OAU.

    “He is my day-one, my very good friend. I have pictures and videos of our time together at OAU. We used to play celebrity football matches together back in the day.”

    Skit maker Yemi Elesho has alleged that indigenous singer Asake no longer replies to messages of his old friends. 

    Elesho, who attended the same university with Asake, claimed the singer couldn’t afford accommodation throughout his four years at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife but friends accommodated him.

    He said since hitting stardom, Asake has moved on from keeping tabs on old friends because of his new-found lifestyle.

    He, however, said it was natural for Asake to snub some of his “old friends” as he could not possibly carry all of them along.

    Speaking in a recent interview with Echo Room, Elesho said: “Asake is big and a lot of his friends are complaining that he doesn’t reply to their messages but it’s a natural thing, he can’t carry everybody along.”

    Asake signed to YBNL Nation in February 2022 where he released his debut extended play, Ololade, which featured his breakthrough song ‘Omo Ope’ featuring Olamide and the single ‘Sungba.’

    Content creator Adeyemi Elesho aka Yemi Elesho has opened up on his early life struggles as an hawker to make ends meet.

    The social media sensation recalled how he hustled in traffic by selling Aboniki, Face towel and bread just to survive.

    He said he did this up till luck found him and his life began taking a new turn positively.

    Yemi, not forgetting his helper, acknowledged famous content creator, Woli Agba for showing him the way to a better life in creating contents.

    “I sold aboniki and face towels in the traffic. I sold bread. It was because of Woli Agba I stopped doing stage. I have never dreamt one day and saw myself as a content creator,” he said.
