Coach Yemi Olanrewaju has commended Enyimba’s resilience after they scored a late goal to deny visiting Ikorodu City a share of the spoils in a topflight game played in Aba.
Moses Adukwu Moses popped home the winning goal in the stoppage time off Imo Obot’s corner kick to ensure that the People’s Elephants secured the maximum points against the Oga Boys.
Olanrewaju gave credit to his boys for reacting quickly enough to restore their lead, noting that fatigue also contributed to his team’s poor sharpness after the long trip to and return from Maiduguri where they faced El Kanemi Warriors.

“Ikorodu City had nothing to lose. They were good, and I knew they would come all out on us. We are the ones who have something to lose,” Olanrewaju told journalists in Aba.”If we had drawn or lost this game, it would have been hell. I won’t be happy, but the most important thing is we got the job done, and I commend the boys.”
Enyimba will next travel to Yenagoa for a date with Bayelsa United this Sunday in a Matchday 10 encounter with the nine times league champions third on the log with 17 points.
