    Why no man ever asked what I bring to the table – Actress Yetunde Bakare

    Actress Yetunde Bakare has offered insights into why some men inquire about what a woman brings to a relationship, noting that she has never personally encountered such questioning.

    She shared her perspective, suggesting that women who face such queries may be perceived by men as lacking potential.

    Bakare disclosed this in an interview with Punch.

    The thespian insisted that the men might have studied their spouses and realised that they lacked vision and purpose.

    She said: “I personally think that is not a general question. Nobody has ever asked me that. I feel men often ask such questions when they don’t see the woman they are with as someone who has potential.

    “He might have studied her and realised that she does not have foresight, or that she lacks vision and purpose.

    “He might also see her as someone who is more interested in a luxury lifestyle that she cannot afford on her own. I feel it is just an excuse for the man to let such a woman go.”

    I believe in love, not marriage, says Actress Yetunde Bakare

    Popular Nollywood actress, Yetunde Bakare has explained why she doesn’t believe in marriage but feels differently about the concept of love. 

    Bakare reiterated her beliefs in an interview with Biola Bayo on her show, ‘Talk to B’.

    According to her, she has been through a lot of things that have caused her to lose faith in marriage.

    Without elaborating on her experiences, she added that she believes in love, adding that she is in a committed relationship with a man that would not lead to marriage.

    Yetunde said that despite observing her parents’ happy marriage, she hasn’t changed her opinion.

    She said: “I have experienced a lot of things and I don’t believe in marriage anymore, but I believe in love. I don’t believe in marriage, we don’t have to be married to love each other. I can love you and respect you from afar without being a MRS.

    “I think generally, most men like a humble, respectful, down-to-earth, and patient type of woman. Because as far as I am concerned even the Quran preaches love.

    “Being married is a good thing cause I have seen my parents married but it’s not for me.

    “Presently I am in a very serious relationship and I am in love genuinely but I don’t want to. I don’t see myself getting married all.”
